Oxalic Acid in Common Fruits

The document discusses using parts of three fruits - avocado, kamias, and papaya - to make a liquid detergent. It notes that all three fruits contain oxalic acid, while kamias also contains acetic acid. The document argues that this detergent would be affordable and useful for cleaning school uniforms as the raw materials are locally available. It could also potentially generate income for the author's family. A second title then discusses using guava leaves, kamias, and lemon to make a spray, noting that guava leaf extract has germicidal properties while lemon provides scent.

Defense:
First and foremost, I’ve researched and read the properties of each
fruit. Avocado, Kamias, and papaya share the same property which
is Oxalic Acid.
 What is Oxalic Acid?
Oxalic Acid is a dicarboxylic acid with a chemical formula
of C2H2O4. This kind of acid features bleach-like qualities
and can be used for removing rust and stains.
The Kamias fruit has a unique quality that sets it apart from the
Avocado and Papaya fruit. The Kamias fruit contains acetic acid.
Acetic acid is also known as ethylic acid, it is byproduct of
fermentation, it is also a stain remover.

Secondly, it is affordable, and attainable, I can get papaya in the

market for a cheap and affordable price. All the raw materials are
abundant in the locality.

Thirdly, as a student, I am fond of wearing my white uniform from

Monday to Friday. This liquid detergent can help my parents when
washing our uniforms because it can maintain the neatness and
remove the stains to make it look brand new.
