Malcolm X: A Legacy of Activism

Malcolm X was a courageous human rights advocate and activist born in 1925 in Nebraska. After facing racism and hardship in his early life, including the death of his father and institutionalization of his mother, he became involved in illegal activities and spent 10 years in prison. While incarcerated, he converted to Islam and later became one of the most influential Black leaders and social activists of the 20th century, promoting Black civil rights and fighting against racism in the US as a prominent spokesman for the Black Muslims. He was murdered in 1965 at the age of 39.
