Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person

HUMAN PERSON
TEACHING CLASS & TIME: QUARTER: 3 (Week 7)
I. OBJECTIVES (LEARNING COMPETENCIES)
At the end of the 60-minute period of teaching process, the learners are expected to:
a. Realize that free will encompasses consequences.
b. Show situations that demonstrate free will and its consequences.
c. Recognize limitations and possibilities for transcendence
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic: The Human Person as an Embodied Spirit
i. Content Standard: The learner understands the human person as an embodied spirit.
ii. Performance Standard: The learner distinguishes his/her own limitations and the
possibilities for his/her transcendence.

III. PROCEDURE: Inductive Method
A. Preparation
The Teacher prepares the class by doing daily routine i.e. prayer, checking of attendance, room
cleanliness and orderliness.
Recall the past lesson. Students will share some insights about the last topic.
Motivation
The teacher will ask practical questions to the learners that demonstrates free-will (ex.
Who took a bath this morning?)
B. Presentation
The teacher will make a connection from the simple activity to the introduction of the
lesson through a sample picture in the power point presentation. They are given 1 minute to
analyze the picture and analyze the possible consequences. (INSERT THE PICTURE)
C. Lesson Proper
1. Discuss the meaning of the word free-will and other concepts encompasses to it and
how it is related to transcendence.
2. Provide scenarios that present free will and talks about the possible consequences.
The activity is entitled “the possible consequence”, there are 5 scenarios and the
learners need to think about the most possible consequence on the action. The
teacher will let the students read the scenarios at the screen and answer each number.
3. Present the concept of morality as an evaluation of actions.
D. Application
The students will answer an activity by pair. The teacher will give an activity which is
called “fill in the blank. There are 10 scenarios; 5 blank choices and 5 blank consequences.
They need to think about the most possible action which causes or affects the other. (INSERT
SCREENSHOT OF THE ACTIVITY)
E. Abstraction
Was there a time when you excessively use your free-will? In the school? At your
home? What was the consequence/s of it?
F. Generalization
What insights have you gained in our lesson?
IV. EVALUATION
True or False activity about free-will, consequences, self-determination, limitations, and
possibilities.
V. ASSIGNMENT
On your social media account, post an instance, quotes, saying or an artwork that demonstrate
and/or talk about free will and consequences.
