I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
1. discuss the brief historty of traditional game of kadang-kadang;
2. identify the folowing equipment needed in kadang-kadang; and
3. perform the traditional filipino game kadang-kadang.
II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Kadang-kadang
A. Reference: Mendoza N. (2020) Laro ng Lahi: kadang-kadang
B. Materials: coconut shells (pcs), rope, chair, chalk, score sheet, questionaire,
visual aids, timer, tape.

So our previous lesson is all about eating
habits!
So class, what is eating habits? Yes, Diana Eating habits how people eat, which foods
they eat, and with whom they eat, as well as
the ways people use, and discard food.

Before we proceed to our discussion, lets
have an activity. (Student’s Listen)
The title of the game is “Memory Games”
Devide the class into for groups, and your
going to count 1 to 4. I will show words that
are connected to our topic for today. I want
you to observe and memorize the given words
within 15 seconds. And after 15 seconds. The
shown words will be removed. And I will
give you 10 seconds to write the shown
words. Each groups that remembers the most
words will receive an additional 10 points,
second group will receive 8 points, the third
group will receive 6 points and last group will
receive 4 ponits. I will add your additional
points to our practical later after the
discussion.

officially played.
Okay, kadang-kadang was first officially
played in 1969 during the larong lahi. ( Game
of the Races). The larong lahi is a Traditional
sports event, initiated by the Bureau of
Physical Education and School Sports.

So class, do you know kadang-kadang in
bisaya words or other dialects words?
So kadang-kadang in bisaya words is
“karang” in tgalog word also known as
“Tiyakad” in English word “Bamboo Stilts”
or “Coconut shell stilts.”
This game is originated in Cebu, Central Phil.

Alright, after that your going to divide the
class again into 4 groups. So the groupings
will still the same. I will give you 10 minutes
to play kadang-kadang.
Before we start to our game, please stand up
and take it off your id’s and let’s do a warm-
up.
Go to your groupmates! And arrage your
alinment. Arms forward and sideward.
Warm up:
Jumping jacks ( 10 counts)
High knee ( 10 counts )
Forward lunges ( 10 counts)
Ankle rotation L-R (16 counts )
So, I will set a timer (10 mins) once the timer
is ringing automatic the racing game is
already done. Finish or not finish.

Are we clear class?
So this is the mechanics of the game!
Mechanics of the game:
1. Kadang- kadang requires 4 teams, use you
foot and hands going to the finish line.
2. Equipment: eaight pieces (4 sets) of
coconut shells. These poles should be equal
hights,say 1 feet long.
3. The goal: The four teams must successfully
traverse a 10 meter course.
4. The first player on each team stands behind
the standing point follow with the members.
5. At the signal of “Get set” the first players
must stand ready behind the starting line.
They now must have held their respective
stilts.
6. At the signal of “Go” the players mount
their stilts and start walking towards to the
chairs in 5 meters going back to the starting
line, equivalent of 10 meters. Then, they get
off the stilts. This process is repeated until
finish of each members of the teams.
7. Until the timer still running(10mins)
8. The team that completes the courses first is
concidered as a “WINNER” will receive (100
ponits), followed by the second (95 points) ,
third ( 90 points) , and fourth placer
( 85 points).
9. Each players is allowed only two errors.
This means that if the players falls off the
stilts more than twice, his team are automatic
fourth placer and his team loses the game.

Before you start the game, I will be remind all
of you, that you should always be careful and
watch your steps to avoid sprains and accident
during our game!

drawing about it. It’s up to your creativity class on how you do the illustration. You may use also your art
materials in illustrating it. Draw it in oslo paper. To be submitted on our next meeting.
