THE COMPARATIVE
Empleamos el comparative, para realizar la comparación, para comparar adjetivos cortos (de 1 sílaba, y
algunos de 2 sílabas) añadimos "-er" al adjetivo en lugar de usar "more":
ADJECTIVE + ER ___ + THAN
EXAMPLES:
1. Europe is colder than Africa.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
2. Africa is warmer than Europe.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

IMPORTANT
a) Si el adjetivo termina en Y se cambia por I. EXAMPLE: English is easy
English is easier than math.
b) Si el adjetivo termina en consonante + vocal + consonante, EXAMPLE: America is big.
se duplica la ultima consonante. - America is bigger than Europe.
c) Los adjetivos: Good, bad, far, tienen un comparativo irregular. EXAMPLE: Good – better
bad – worse, far – farther.
