IS FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES NECESSARY?

(ORIGINAL)

I believe that Face-to-Face classes is better than other modes of learning. Novel Corona
virus has been giving us an extraordinary impact. This pandemic the COVID 19 affects almost all
aspects of life especially in education, and the Commission on Higher Education imposed an
alternative mode of learnings; Online, Modular, and blended. On the other hand, we’ve seen that
those mode of learnings are more difficult for students and suffer a lot. Thus, Face-to Face classes
is still better than other Modes of Learning since it ensures student to learn and understand
better, it supports students to form stronger connection, and it helps to improve our mental
health. While, other Mode of Learnings presented more challenges and limit physical interaction.

First, face-to-face classes ensures a better learning and understanding of the lessons.
78% of more than 1,000 students still believe that it is easier to learn in a classroom according
to the result of new national research study. Students are able to understand easier and maximize
their capability in face-to-face. It is one of the effective ways to gain more knowledge because it
includes a lot of methods like writing, reading, demonstration, discussion, and many more. You
can easily ask for clarification about the topic being discussed by a teacher. Unlike in an Online
Learning we would have to wait for the activities to be posted by a teacher and sometimes
teachers cannot meet their students due to a poor connection and vise versa.

Second, it gives a time with other class members to gain stronger connection. According
to PDT Global, “One of the key elements of the learning process is the dynamic relationship shared
between a students and fellow students, as well as between the students and the teacher.” Face-
to-Face interaction allows us not only to be heard but also to seen and felt. In this mode of
learning you are given an opportunity to connect or interact with your fellow students. Dissimilar
in other modes that limit the Physical interaction to other students.

Lastly, Face-to-face classes helps to improve Mental Health. According to Kitzrow,

struggles with mental illness or serious emotional stress, can cause pervasive difficulties for
college students, and often affects their academics. Students are more vulnerable to mental
illness since the pandemic presented a lot of challenges. You are more comfortable and
experience lesser stress when you are in a classroom situation because you can easily ask for
help with your colleagues.

Therefore, I believed that it is a time to re-open the classroom. Yes, the threat of COVID
19 is still exist but the government now can do a lot of ways to prevent the spread of virus.
Despite the fact that COVID 19 is still here the government can and should approve the re-
opening of a classroom setup. Moreover, face-to-face provided a better learning, allows physical
interaction, and reduce the risk of getting more stress and that was verified by a lot of studies.
So, I strongly believed that Face-to-Face classes is necessary.
