Two types of reports are asked in the exam, namely, newspaper report or a magazine report.
Newspaper report is the one which is published in a newspaper and magazine report is
generally written for a school magazine.
FORMAT OF A MAGAZINE REPORT
1. Heading– A descriptive title which is expressive of the contents of the report.
2. By line– Name of the person writing the report. It is generally given in the question. Remember,
you are not supposed to mention your personal details in your answer.
3. Opening paragraph (introduction) – It may include the ‘5 Ws’ namely, WHAT, WHY, WHEN
and WHERE along with WHO was invited as the chief guest.
4. Account of the event in detail– The proper sequence of events that occurred along with their
description. It is the main paragraph and can be split into two short paragraphs if required.
5. Conclusion
FORMAT OF A NEWSPAPER REPORT

the question. Remember, you are not supposed to mention your personal details in your answer.
3. Place and date of reporting- It is generally not mentioned in a magazine report separately, but
here, it is.
Opening paragraph- It includes expansion of the headline. It needs to be short as it is a
general overview of the report.
Account of the event in detail– It is generally written in two parts: First, complete account of
what happened in it’s chronological sequence (preferably) and second, the witness remarks.

“Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder.”
An Art and Craft camp was organised by Kalatantra in my neighbourhood park
yesterday on 16-august-2023 giving a beautiful insight on art and craft. The whole park
was decorated with beautiful craft materials . Chief Guest , Ms. Malini Sinha, Chairperson of
Ahmedabad Arts Hub inaugurated the camp. Art Instructor of Kalatantra started the camp
with a bang. At first a short cultural programme like Introduction of Chief guest,
felicitation of students who had done brilliantly last year was there. He motivated the
students that Creativity is in our mind, only we need to brush up. It is like a blank
canvas which is to be painted with beautiful colours.
After that the Chief Instructor alongwith his team members showcased variety of skills
and artworks. Many articles were made from using waste materials only .
A beautiful presentation was also a centre of attraction where the team members
presented the artworks and designs Few instructor showed their talent to make the
instant articles from waste which was much appreciated by all the audience.
It was wonderful and everyone was amazed how waste can be turned into beautiful
articles.
