Clothing & Equipment: Students should wear/bring the following –
Expedition Kit List for Bronze
2 Strong large plastic bags (you could buy 1 roll for a team)
Sleeping bag wrapped in separate strong plastic bag (sleeping bag should be at least 2
seasons if you intend on doing silver / gold I would suggest 3+ seasons)
Waterproof Jacket with hood. (Please make sure they are actually waterproof before
you buy as sometimes Waterproofs will not protect you from significant rain.
Waterproof Trousers (You will still need these if it is raining for a long period of time
but these are less important than the Jacket)
Gloves (Any will do preferably warm ones)
Warm Hat/Sun hat (Woolly hat / cap look at the weather before and decide what you
bring)
Tent clothes (Track suit or similar) (I prefer to wear my clothes for the next day in
order to save weight)
Changes of socks & underwear (They are likely to get sweaty/wet so please bring
spares)
Mug, plate or bowl, Knife, Fork & Spoon (I personally use a large Tupperware box as it
can be a plate, a bowl or even a mug if your desperate. It can also be used to store
your lunch)
Wash kit, Soap, towel, toothbrush and toothpaste (Could share parts of this as a team)
Water Bottle(s) 2 Litres minimum (Can be 2 1 litre bottles, Ect)
Pen, pencils and notebook (For planning)
First Aid kit inc. personal medication, blister kit etc
Watch, Whistle & Torch (and spare batteries)
Emergency rations (Things to give you energy AKA Snacks such as: Nuts and Dried
Fruit, Cereal Bars, Energy Bars & Sweets)
Walking clothes
Walking trousers (or cargos (if you can avoid it don’t wear tracksuit bottoms as you
will sweat)) Avoid shorts as it is currently tick season
Fleece, Sweatshirt or jumper
T Shirt (Preferably long sleeve)
Walking Boots (with ankle support), Socks
Team Equipment
Matches or lighter in plastic bag
Expedition Food
Survival bag (Supplied by the school)
Cooking wash kit (Sponge & dish soap)
School Provided Equipment
Stove (shared)
Tent (shared)
Rucksack & Waterproof rucksack cover.
Sleeping Mat
Map and Route Cards, compass
Team First aid kit (shared)
