for the blind. His name was Louis Braille and after him the alphabet is called the
‘Braille’s Alphabet’. It is a system of dots. The dots are of the same size and are
arranged in a special way. The dots are raised so that the blind can feel them with
their fingers and understand the message. The dots alphabet goes from A to Z.
Using the alphabet, the blind People can see with their fingers. The books for the
blind are printed by machines. There are special typewriters for the blind. Thanks
to Louis Braille, blind students can achieve in their studies what the other normal
students can.

1. GROW baby plant from seedless plants during your holidays :

Class – V ( P-11)
You will be amazed to know that the top section of a few vegetables like carrot,
turnip, onion and potato (some of these are available in summer season) can be used to
grow new baby plants. Some other plants like mint, coriander, rose can also be grown
by vegetative reproduction. Follow these easy steps

1. Put the tops of these vegetables in a deep dish, leaving some space between them.
2. Pour water into the dish till the vegetables tops are covered by water.
3. Add some water every day to maintain the water level.

After ten days you will observe little seedlings coming out of the vegetable tops. Plant
them in different pot.

Take care of the plant & record the observation by writing it on scrap file along with
picture of its growth.

2. Make a list of examples of joints in your surroundings which work in similar


manner like your body joints.
