Moses and the Israelites cross through the Red Sea and out of Egypt
Through the Red Sea
Exodus 14:1-31

Craft/Activity: Red Sea, Red Sea

Students will play “Red Sea, Red Sea” to remind them of how the Israelites crossed the Red Sea safely as
they fled from Egypt.

Materials
1. Open Field/Playground Area

Directions
1. Choose two students to be the “Red Sea”
2. Have the other students line up about 25 feet away in a single-file line.
3. The two students that are the “Red Sea” stand side-by-side, link hands, and face the remaining
students.
4. The two students then chant, “Red Sea, Red Sea, try to cross me.”
5. The first student waiting in line will respond by running and trying to break through the two
students’ linked hands.
6. If the running student successfully breaks through, he/she links hands with the other two students.
7. If the running student does not break through, he/she sits out.
8. The “Red Sea” chants again, “Red Sea, Red Sea, try to cross me.”
9. The next student in line runs and attempts to “cross” the Red Sea by breaking through any two
students’ linked hands.
10. Repeat until all students have attempted to “cross” the Red Sea.
11. Play another round if time permits.

For Discussion

As students are lined up ready to “cross” the Red Sea, remind them that God allowed the Israelites to safely

Have You Ever Sinned?

The Bible teaches that we have all

sinned and do not measure up to
God’s glory. It also teaches that the
price for sin is death which separates
us from God. But even though we
are sinners, Christ died for us and
paid the price for our sin. We just
need to ask him to forgive us and
receive his free gift of salvation. Just
pray this prayer, with a sincere heart,
and Jesus will forgive you of your
sins. You will become a child of God
and live with Him in heaven.
