Introduction
God`s Plan of Salvation
God offers salvation to us through our faith in Jesus Christ and not through any religion or good
works but just faith alone (Eph 2:8,9).
To accept God`s offer of salvation you must do four things:
1. Admit your sins openly and repent(turning away from sins)
2. Believe that Jesus died for you and rose again from the dead
3. Receive the risen Christ by faith as your own personal saviour
4. Publicly confess Him as your Lord(Speak up and tell others that Jesus is Lord)
When you receive Jesus this way:
He comes to live forever in your heart
He gives you eternal life
He gives you the power to lead a life of righteousness
He gives you victory over sin
Lesson [1]
Understanding The Way Of Salvation
Memory Work: Rom 5:12,19; Rom 8:1
Eph 2:8,9
The Fall
o Sin is a rebel attitude against God inside each of us which turns into outward acts that
separate us from God. Our sinful lives rob God of the Glory He wants and deserves.
Sin has three results or penalties
1. Death inside i.e in our spirit
2. Death of our bodies
3. Bring locked up and tortured in a dark place away from God forever
o The first sin was committed with the first people in the Garden of Eden.
o God creates man and puts him into the Garden to look after it (Gen 2:15)
o He gives man a commandment (Gen 2:16) that they would eat of any tree in the garden but
of the tree of good and evil they were not to eat for the day they would eat of it they would
die.
o God is spirit (Gen 1:2; John 4:24).When He created man he created him in His own image
(Gen 1:26,27 ) and this shows us that man is spirit since he is the image of God. Therefore
when God said they would die He meant a spiritual death. A spiritual death is one in which
one is separated from God or from the presence of God.
o (Gen 3:1-6) Man was deceived with the devil and he ate the fruit, breaking the
commandment he had been given. Death followed as had been promised by God (Gen 2:17;
Rom 6:23). Man died spiritually. (Gen 3:23-24) He was driven out of the garden: that is out
of the presence of God. Man was separated from God.
o Because of Adam`s sin every man (that is every being including you and me) was made a
sinner (Rom 5:12,19; Rom 3:23). Being sinners death reigned in us (Rom 5:12)
The Solution: Reconciliation with God Through Jesus Christ
o (Eph 2:4-5; 1st John 4:9; John 3:16) God loved us and came up with a solution for us to be
saved.
o For us to be saved and for our sins to be forgiven there had to be shedding of blood. God
sent his son to die in our place (Heb 2:9; Rom 5:8; 1st John 2:2), shedding his blood on the
cross that we might be made righteous( 2nd Cor 5:21) and restored us back into the presence
of God.
Steps To Receiving Salvation
o Salvation comes by receiving Jesus or being born again (Rom 10:1-17, John
1:12).Summarised in the following steps.
Step 1
(Acts 2:37,38) Peter says “ Repent and be Baptised …” The fact that he mentions Repentance before
Baptism makes it clear to us that the first step is Repentance.
o Be humble and acknowledge that you are a sinner. Admit that you need to repent. The
Bibles assures us that if we admit indeed the Lord will forgive us (2 Chro 7:14; 1 st John 1:8,9)
Step 2
o Believe in your heart that Jesus is the Saviour, through the finished work of the cross (Rom
10:9,10; John 1:10)
Step 3
o Confess or call upon him with the words of your mouth inviting him into your life (Rom
10:9,10,13; )
o Hence making sinner`s prayer or prayer of Salvation is critical (Rom 10:9-10)
Step 4
o Open up your heart to him and allow him to come in ( Rev 3:20; Heb 3:7-8)
Important points to Note
i. Repentance is Critical : True Salvation comes from repentance (2 Cor 7:9-10; Luke 15:7)
ii. Assurance of Salvation : We are assured of having being saved by faith and faith alone, for it
is a work of Grace (Eph 2:8-9; Rom 8:1; John 1:12; John 8:36 John 3:17)

power of the Holy Ghost. But for this power to manifest you have to receive the Baptism of
the Holy Spirit. This is evidenced by speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4)
o Our God is a trinity (1st John 5:7) It is the Holy Spirit that comes to dwell in us and empower
us for service and ministry for the work of God and gives all gifts of the spirit (Luke 24:49;)

to lead you results in your life being transformed and it signifies that you are now a child of
God.

o The Holy Spirit does not bring only the gifts of the Holy Spirit but also the fruits of the spirit
