Question 1
Find the attached dataset with the Details of number of Road Accidents in different states of India
from the year 2015-2018.
A) Find the average number of road accidents in an Indian state happened in the year 2015, 2016,
2017, 2018? (1mark)
B) Describe what is a pie chart and explain when it is appropriate to use a pie chart. (1 marks)
C) Using a pie chart summarize distributional pattern of road accidents in India. (2 marks)
D) State which is the state that recorded the highest number of road accidents in the year 2016? (1
marks)
E) Among the total number of road accidents occurred in the year 2018, what is proportion of the
road accident is from the state of Tamil Nadu?(1 marks)

Refer to dataset with Details of Road Accidents in different states of India. A researcher claims that
that average number of accidents in 2018 are more compared to the average number of road
accidents 2015 in India.
A) State the null hypothesis and alternate hypothesis for this situation. (2 marks)
B) Conduct the appropriate hypothesis test for testing the claiming. (2 marks)

Question 4
The dataset ‘Delivery’ shows the cost of delivery for different locations in the state of Karnataka
>Charges–Cost of Delivery.
>Distance–Distance to the delivery address.
>Weight – Weight of the consignment
> Boxes – Number of boxes.
A) Construct a simple linear regression model to understand the effect of distance on delivery
charges. Based on results obtained, infer the relationship between delivery charges and distance.

B) Construct a multiple linear regression model to assess effect of different variables like distance,
weight and boxes. Detail your interpretations. (3 marks)
C) Compare both models and comment. (2 marks)

A) Elaborate on One-Way ANOVA Analysis. (5 marks).
B) The Marketing Manager at Foodco, a large grocery store wants to determine if the store display
location influences sales of a particular grocery item. He instructs employees to rotate the
display location of that item every week and then tallies the weekly sales at each location over a
24-week period (8 weeks per location). The sales obtained is given in the dataset ‘Foodco’
- Specify the competing hypotheses to test whether there are some differences in the mean
compressive strengths across the four mixing techniques.
- At the 5% significance level, what is the conclusion to the test? What about the 1%
significance level? (5 marks)
