RAJASTHAN IS KNOWN AS ONE OF THE

RICH HERITAGES

INTRODUCTION:
The state of Rajasthan as known as the 'Land of Kings'. It has been ruled by Maratha, Rajput and
Muslim rulers in the past. This results in the diverse culture of Rajasthan.

MUSIC AND DANCE: Folk musics of Rajasthan are very popular among the India. It is a vital
part of Rajasthan. Bhopa, Chang, Teratali, Ghinder, Kachchigghori, Tejaji, Parth dance are examples of
traditional Rajasthani culture. Folk sons are commonly Ballads and Bhajans and Banis played by
Musical Instruments like dholak, sitar etc. Among all Rajasthani folk dances, Ghoomar, Kathputli
dance attracts tourists a lot.

ARTS AND CRAFTS: Rajasthan is well known for its excellent cotton fabric, floral patterns and
attractive designs on walls and doors. From elegant Meenakari work to beautiful block prints, from
chunky silver jewellery to camels leather jootis, this state's craftsmen produce mind-boggling array of
goods which are hard to beat.
RELIGION AND FESTIVALS: Rajasthan is home to all the major religions of India, i.e, the
Hindus, the Muslims, the Sikhs, etc.
The main religion festivals are Deepawali, Holi, Gangaur, Teej, Gogaji, Makar Sankranti, and
Janmashtami as the main religion is Hinduism, Rajasthan's desert festival in Jaisalmer is celebrated
once a year during winter.

ATTITHI DEVO BHAVA :


'Attithi Devo Bhava' means to treat your guests like as you would treat God. This principle is a part of
the Rajasthani Culture.
