DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS

ACTIVATION:

1. Look at your classmate’s desk. Say what they have on it using demonstrative
pronouns. E.g. That’s a pen!
2. Do the same with things in the classroom.
3. Ask your classmate:
‘What’s this?’ It’s a book.
‘What’s that?’ It’s a window.
‘What are these?’ They’re pencils.
‘What are those?’ They’re chairs.

3. PREPOSITIONS

In this class we have three prepositions, let’s see them❗

IN - ON - UNDER
Let’s see some examples:
• My phone is IN my pocket.

• The book is ON the table.


• The pencil is UNDER the chair.

LET’S PRACTISE: Talk about at least two things in the classroom and say their
position using a preposition.

Listening
A) Listen to Amanda, Benedict and Carlos saying what they have on their table or
desk. Match the things with the people’s names. Write A for Amanda, B for Benedict
or C for Carlos.

B) Listen to three people. Number the places they talk about (1-3) in the chart.
