enthusiasm.

Rules for Interjection:

There are no rules governing the use of interjections. They can
be used at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence. They
can also be used alone as a complete sentence. When an
interjection is used in writing, it is usually followed by a
comma, exclamation point, or question mark.

Types of Interjections

 Volitive interjections
A volitive interjection is used to give a command or make a
request. For example, the volitive interjection “shh” or
“shush” is used to command someone to be quiet.
Examples:
- Shh! I can’t focus when you’re singing.
- Psst. Pass me an eraser.
- Ahem. Please pay attention.

 Emotive interjections
An emotive interjection is used to express an emotion or to
indicate a reaction to something. For example, the emotive
interjection “ew” is used to express disgust.
Examples:
- Ew. I’m not eating that.
- Yay! I’m so excited to see you.
- Yum! This apple pie is delicious.

 Cognitive interjections
Cognitive interjections are the words or phrases used to
express a thought. For example, ‘hmm’, ‘Hmm, I don’t know
about that, ‘I see’, etc. Cognitive interjections usually need a
response from the person you are talking to.
Examples:
- Hmm, I don’t know about that.
- I see. What do you think?
- Mmm, so many things look good on the menu.

 Greetings and parting words

Greetings and parting words/phrases are interjections used
to acknowledge or welcome someone or to express good
wishes at the end of a conversation.
Examples:
- Hi! How is your health now?
- Hello! It’s good to see you.
- See you soon! Drive safe.

A person, place, or thing (Everyone is singing)

A person, place, or things

Discussion
Now, please behave and we will begin our
lesson

As you can see everything around us has a

name, and with that we are going to talk about
naming words or what we call a “Noun” (Everyone is listening)

But before that let us define first what is what

is a noun

Noun - is a name of a person, a place, a thing,

or an animal.

There are so many people around us and all of

them have their own respective names.

Say for example…

 Teacher
 Girl
 Boy
 Farmer

As you all know, these are an example of a

name of a person

All animals also have names.

For example…
 Dog
Northern Zambales College, Inc.
Inhobol, Masinloc, Zambales, 2211
Telephone (047) 307-0028
[email protected]
 Cow
 Cat
 Chicken
 Fish
As you all known these are the example of a
name of animals.

Places around us have name too.

For example…
 Hospital
 School
 Church
These are the example of a place.

So class let us all identify the nouns in the

following sentences.

For example…
1. The boy went to school.

Who among you can identify the nouns in this

given sentence?
Yes Arthur?
Boy and school, Teacher.
Alright very good Arthur, boy and school

As you can see boy is a name of a person and a

school is a name of a place.

Another example.
2. The cat is under the chair.

Can anyone tell me what is noun in the

sentence?
Yes Liza?
Cat and the chair.
Wow, that's great so the cat is an example of a
name of an animal, and the chair is a name of a
thing.

Last example.
3. Mother has bought a dress.

So what is the noun in this sentence?

Yes Gina?
Very good. Mother and a dress.
Mother is a name of a person and the dress is a
name of a thing.

So again, Noun is a name of a person, place,

thing, or animal

All right everybody clap your hands for a job

well done. (Everyone is clapping their hands.)

Okay class any question before we proceed to

next? None, Teacher.

If non, let’s now have our group activity.

Application
This time I will divide the class into five
groups and then each group will receive an
envelope, inside this envelope there an a set of
words and of course there is a manila paper
inside of it.

So all you have to do class is you will select the

correct words based on the title of words inside
the envelope so this is very easy.

Let your member share also.

Now I will give you 2 minutes only to do this
work.
After that you will present your output in front
of the class. Am I clear? Yes, Teacher.

Very good.
Now take your envelope here…
