The Barangay Nutrition Committee is partially function/non-functional due to no
funding, no implementation.
The BNC meetings regularly held atleast once every quarter presided by the BNC chair
and designated representative. Minutes of BNC meeting documented and filed nthe funds
allowed and expended for nutrition and related activities from annual budget. Targeted groupd
provided with nutrition and related interventions. Monitoring visits conducted and documented
atleast twice a year.
The barangay still faces many challenges in achieving its goal in reducing malnutrition.
This risk refers to factors outside the program that can negatively impact the implementation of
the BNAP such as
1. Lack of funding and implementation.
2. In-active committee and members.
3. Non-cooperative parents.
4. Lack of information about the importance of program.
5. Poor communication due to low connection.
Addressing malnutrition in the barangay needs a multisectoral approach and adopt the
triple strategy of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) healthier diets, improved
nutrition practices and access to nutrition and related services.
