Q1. What is Skill Development Council Canada?

 Skill Development Council Canada (SDCC) is an autonomous and independent body of Canada, to
assess, accredit and certify students through institutions of higher education across the world.
Q2. What is accreditation?
 Accreditation means that a program or institution has gone through a rigorous review and evaluation
process by experts in the field. It is essentially a stamp of approval by SDC Canada that reviews and
evaluates the quality of an institution or program. In theory, accreditation assures that the quality of
teaching, student achievement, curriculum, academic support and other criteria meet certain
standards of excellence and quality.
Q3. Why opt for SDCC Accreditation?
 Accreditation is the best assessment benchmark which is also endorsed by experts of SDCC giving it
utmost credibility.
 It helps to differentiate institutes among their competitors. The outcome of the process is useful to the
students and parents in making a choice of the institution.
 Our accreditation is a status that provides assurance to prospective students, their families and the
general public that an institution meets clearly stated Standards for Accreditation and that there are
reasonable grounds to believe the institution will continue to meet those standards in the future
 Helps employers determine the validity of programs of study and whether a graduate is qualified.
Employers often require evidence that applicants have received a degree from an accredited school or
program.
 Gain access to the leading International & Regional accreditation through EIU's largest global network
of accreditation bodies.
 Accredited educational institutes, schools, and universities experience a 55% increase in student
enrollments.
 Student retention at accredited schools, universities and institutes are up by more than 30%.
 Our accreditation bodies ensure worldwide acceptance not only for the institute but also for specific
academic programs and subjects.
Q4. What are accreditation standards?
 SDC Standards are widely researched, field tested, collaborative rules of practice that have been
accepted by specific fields as a basis of judgment for an average or normal requirement.
Q5. How can an institution apply for SDCC Accreditation?/ Accreditation Process
 The first step in the accreditation process is to become the Authorized Learning Partner of SDCC. To
apply for the membership, please:
 Complete our Authorized Learning Partner application form along with the letter of Intent.
 Submit all your institution’s details, course curriculum, posters/flyers/brochures/catalog, pictures of
the institute, logo, website link.
 After submission of all the documents, respective domain-specific faculty will do the review and
assessment of the course curriculum submitted by the academy
 Digital background verification of the academy
 The entire process takes about 5-7 working days.

Q6. What is the cost of accreditation?
 Skill Development Council Canada does not charge anything for the accreditation process, all
institutional applicants only have to pay for the student’s assessments and certification provided by us.
Q7. Do we have to submit all our program/service areas for accreditation?
 No, you can decide which programs will seek accreditation. It is beneficial to obtain accreditation for
all eligible service areas but it is not required. However please be informed that SDC Canada is
providing free accreditation to only top 5 courses of your academy. From the 6th course onwards the
applicant needs to pay 50 CAD per course.
 An institution may be accredited but a particular program within that institution may not be. Some
students may enroll in a specific program based on the accreditation status of the institution without
realizing that the program is not accredited by the appropriate specialized accrediting organization. It
is important that you make this determination.
Q8. Can programs and services provided by an individual be accredited?
 No. SDC Canada does not recognize individual profiles. Applicants and applications coming from
recognized institutions/academies/organizations conducting any skill or vocational training programs
are only eligible to apply for the accreditation.
Q9: What is the validity of accreditation?
 It is valid for 1 years
Q10: How can an institution promote its accreditation status?
 As a SDCC-accredited institution, we encourage you to use the accreditation certification and logo.
However, institutions are not permitted to alter the logo’s structure or color in any way.
 Earning SSDC Accreditation is a significant accomplishment, and we encourage you to promote your
achievement—in print, on your institution's website, and around campus.
 As you think about other ways to promote your accreditation, perhaps in a unique, fun, or interesting
way, we want to hear from you! Since you are already using the logo, perhaps you want to share a
success story? SDCC is collecting examples of institutions from around the world that are promoting
their accreditation. Si please feel free to share your story with us by sending your photos, stories, and
videos.
Q11. What is the Assessment Criteria for the Accreditation
 The school provides its course curriculum/syllabus to support its instructional activities for all
modalities.
 Faculty have access to sufficient current and emerging technologies for both teaching and research
purposes consistent with their mission, strategies, and expected outcomes. Such access may be
realized through partnerships with other schools or other third parties.
 Professional staff are provided adequate training and technology infrastructure for advising, career
placement, and other mission-specific activities.
 SDC Canada does not have a standard curriculum to which we expect schools to adhere; schools have
the latitude to formulate curricula that is best for the mission of their school and the learner
population it serves.
