6. Initiate and facilitate researchers on teacher education and other related fields; and

DST The Department of Secondary Teaching aims to:
OBJECTIVES 1. Prepare prospective teachers in the secondary teaching the knowledge about the growth and development of adolescents;
2. Produce highly skilled and competent secondary school teachers in the field of discipline being pursued;
3. Inculcate proper sense of values among prospective teachers;
4. Prepare secondary teaching students in community relations and development;
5. Develop students to have a keen sense of understanding and appreciation of their own as well as others’ culture and
traditions;
6. Provide training programs for secondary level teachers of public and private schools in the region to upgrade their teaching
competencies, work values and attitudes; and
7. Develop research skills of prospective teachers in the secondary level in their quest for knowledge and truth.
