SPEAKING PART 2

1. Go to a prom. Who are you going with?

- Darling (No: I do not want people TO know that I have a boyfriend)
- Best friend (Yes: it’s fun, I could chat with her so we would have a good time
together)
- Alone (No: it’s boring)
2. Organize a ten-year high school class reunion.
 Visit old school & teachers (my old school is very far from here. I can’t go back to
my old school for 1 or 2 days because I am busy studying/working. I will visit my
old teachers during Tet holidays)
 Organize a party (Best choice: Most of my old friends live in Hochiminh city so
we just need to arrange the time, book a restaurant and meet one another/each
other)
 Hold a one-day trip (It is very hard for people to go on the trip together since they
have different schedules)
3. Make a presentation on a new product
 Powerpoint slides (not convenient, need equipment such as laptop, projector)
 a poster (too simple, can not provide a lot of information about the products, easy
to forget)
 a video (interesting, people will remember well, we can send the video to
customers for further information if they are interested)
 My situation is to make a presentation on a new product, and in my opinion, a
video is the best option because of the following reasons. Firstly, a video is more
engaging and interesting compared to PowerPoint slides. It captures people's
attention and keeps them interested throughout the presentation. Secondly, a video
allows for a better visualization of the product. It can showcase the product's
features, benefits, and how it works in a dynamic and compelling way. For
example, we can include product demonstrations, customer testimonials, and
visually appealing graphics to convey the product's value effectively.
 On the other hand, I would not choose PowerPoint slides because they require
equipment such as a laptop and projector, which might not always be convenient
or available. Additionally, slides can be too text-heavy and may not leave a lasting
impression on the audience. Similarly, a poster is not a suitable option as it lacks
the ability to provide detailed information about the product. It is simple and easily
forgotten, limiting its effectiveness in conveying the product's message.
 In contrast, a video has the advantage of being memorable. People tend to
remember visual content better, and a well-crafted video can leave a lasting
impression on viewers. Moreover, we can send the video to customers for further
information if they are interested, allowing them to revisit and share the content
with others.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a video due to the above
reasons. It provides an engaging and informative medium to present the new
product, ensuring that the audience is captivated and remembers the key
information effectively.

4. Organize an activity to raise money to help poor students.

 A school concert (not practical because not many people can join)
 a second- hand market (not convenient because we need to book a place/stand and
prepare products/items to sell)
 A marathon (a lot of people can join, good for people to exercise and keep fit)
 My situation is to organize an activity to raise money to help poor students, and in
my opinion, a marathon is the best option because of the following reasons.
Firstly, a marathon allows a lot of people to join, maximizing the potential for
fundraising. It attracts participants from various backgrounds, including students,
teachers, parents, and community members, ensuring a broad reach and increasing
the chances of collecting substantial donations.
 Secondly, organizing a marathon promotes community engagement and physical
fitness simultaneously. Participants not only contribute to a noble cause but also
engage in a healthy and active pursuit. This aspect of the event appeals to a wide
range of individuals, encouraging them to support the initiative and participate
actively.
 For example, a marathon can be publicized through social media platforms, local
community announcements, and collaboration with other organizations. These
efforts can generate widespread interest and encourage people to register for the
event, further enhancing the fundraising potential.
 On the other hand, a school concert may not be practical as it limits the number of
people who can attend. The audience size may be restricted to the capacity of the
school's auditorium, reducing the overall fundraising impact. Similarly, a second-
hand market requires the booking of a place, stand preparation, and gathering
items to sell, making it less convenient and potentially limiting the participation
and fundraising potential.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a marathon due to the above
reasons. It allows for a large number of participants, promotes community
engagement and physical fitness, and has the potential to generate significant
funds for helping poor students.

5. A foreign friend is planning to visit your country and wondering about the best
time to go there.
 Spring (the weather is nice, many activities and festivals around the country
 Autumn (it often rains a lot in summer, it’s not good for traveling)
 Summer (it’s very hot and it’s a high season in Vietnam and services become very
expensive)
 My situation is that a foreign friend is planning to visit my country and wondering
about the best time to go there. In my opinion, spring is the best option because of
the following reasons. Firstly, the weather during spring is pleasant, with mild
temperatures and a comfortable atmosphere, making it ideal for outdoor activities
and exploration. Additionally, spring in my country is marked by numerous
festivals and events, offering visitors a rich cultural experience and a chance to
immerse themselves in the local traditions and customs.
 On the other hand, I would not recommend summer as the best time to visit. It
tends to be very hot, which can make traveling uncomfortable, particularly for
individuals not accustomed to high temperatures. Moreover, summer is considered
a high season in Vietnam, resulting in increased prices for accommodations,
transportation, and other services, which may not be ideal for budget-conscious
travelers.
 Similarly, autumn may not be the ideal time to visit due to frequent rainfall. While
autumn can still offer pleasant weather and beautiful scenery, the presence of rain
can affect outdoor activities and limit the overall experience for travelers.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would recommend spring as the best time
to visit my country due to its favorable weather, abundance of activities and
festivals, and the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant cultural atmosphere.
6. Your volunteer group is organizing a trip to help children in remote areas. What
is the best present?
 Books (very heavy to carry, not convenient to transport them to remote areas)
 Clothes (we will not know their size and kinds of clothes they want)
 Money (easy to carry, their parents will buy things they need)
 My situation is that my volunteer group is organizing a trip to help children in
remote areas, and in my opinion, money is the best option as a present for the
following reasons. Firstly, money is easy to carry and transport to remote areas,
eliminating the logistical challenges and weight associated with carrying heavy
items like books. It ensures that the resources reach the intended recipients
efficiently.
 Secondly, giving money allows the children and their parents to have the freedom
to choose what they need the most. We may not know the specific sizes or kinds of
clothes the children want, which could result in mismatched or unused items.
Money empowers them to buy clothing or other essentials according to their
preferences and immediate needs.
 For example, the money can be used to purchase school supplies, nutritious food,
or medical supplies, depending on the specific requirements of the children and
their families. It provides flexibility and addresses their most pressing needs
effectively.
 On the other hand, books, although valuable, can be cumbersome to transport to
remote areas. The weight and bulkiness of books may make it impractical to carry
them during the trip. Similarly, clothes present challenges as we may not know the
children's sizes or their preferred styles, which could result in inappropriate or
unused garments.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose money as the best present
due to its ease of transport, flexibility for the recipients to address their specific
needs, and the empowerment it provides to children and their families in remote
areas.
7. What will you do in a three-month summer holiday?
 Take a long course - I want to relax and do something fun, I don’t want to study
during the summer
 doing some volunteer work (it’s fun and good to help other people, I have some
experience such as teaching and building houses and roads
 Traveling (for 3 months is too much, I do not have money or saving to do that)
 My situation is deciding what to do during a three-month summer holiday, and in
my opinion, doing some volunteer work is the best option because of the following
reasons. Firstly, it provides a sense of fulfillment and allows me to contribute to
society while engaging in activities I enjoy. I have previous experience in teaching
and building houses and roads, which makes volunteering a meaningful and
rewarding choice.
 Secondly, volunteering is not only fun but also a way to help others in need. It
allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of others and bring about positive
change in the community. This experience can also broaden my perspective,
enhance my skills, and develop a greater sense of empathy and compassion.
 For example, I could volunteer at local schools or community centers, offering my
teaching skills and helping children or adults with their education. Alternatively, I
could participate in construction projects, assisting in building houses or repairing
roads for disadvantaged communities. These activities not only benefit others but
also provide me with personal growth and a sense of purpose.
 On the other hand, taking a long course during the summer may not be ideal as I
want to relax and have fun during this break. It would be an opportunity to
recharge and engage in activities outside of the academic realm.
 Similarly, traveling for three months may not be feasible due to financial
constraints. It requires a substantial amount of money, which I may not have or
have saved up for such an extended period of travel.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to do some volunteer work
during the three-month summer holiday due to its enjoyable nature, the
opportunity to help others, and my previous experience in teaching and
construction. It allows me to make a positive impact, grow personally, and
contribute to the community while still having a fulfilling and meaningful summer
break.

8. Choosing a Primary school for your children

1. School with highly focus on personality development
(Best choice because young children need to develop their personality and characters
during this time. The role of primary education is to ensure broad based learning of the
child. This includes development of social, cognitive, emotional and physical skills.
2. School with highly focus on academic development (children at this age do not need to
learn a lot of knowledge, teaching young children’s necessary skills is more important
than giving them a lot of knowledge)
3. School with relaxing atmosphere (not good because children need to learn and play at
the same time, if children only play at school and study a little, this is not good for their
overall development)
My situation is choosing a primary school for my children, and in my opinion, a school
with a high focus on personality development is the best option because of the following
reasons. Firstly, young children need to develop their personality and character during
this critical time. Primary education plays a crucial role in ensuring a broad-based
learning experience for children, including the development of social, cognitive,
emotional, and physical skills.
Secondly, a school that emphasizes personality development understands that at this age,
children do not need to acquire a vast amount of knowledge. Instead, it prioritizes
teaching essential skills that lay the foundation for their overall development.
For example, such a school may emphasize social interaction, communication skills,
problem-solving abilities, creativity, and critical thinking. These skills are essential for
their future academic and personal success.
On the other hand, I would not choose a school with a highly focused on academic
development as the primary focus for young children. Their educational needs go beyond
the acquisition of knowledge. It is more crucial to foster their holistic growth during this
formative stage.
Similarly, a school with a relaxing atmosphere may not be ideal as children need a
balance between learning and play. If they only engage in play without adequate learning
opportunities, it may hinder their overall development and academic progress.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a primary school with a high focus
on personality development due to the importance of nurturing children's character, social
skills, and overall growth during this crucial stage. This approach ensures a well-rounded
education and sets a strong foundation for their future success.

9. Your sister is spoken ill on facebook

 Deactivate facebook account (it’s not good, she should keep her account active
because she can update what’s on Facebook)
 talk to the teacher (this is a personal matter, so the teacher is not responsible for
that)
 talk to your friend (this is the best option because she needs to know why she is
spoken ill on Facebook.
 My situation is that my sister is being spoken ill of on Facebook, and in my
opinion, talking to my friend is the best option because of the following reasons.
Firstly, it is essential for my sister to understand why she is being spoken ill of on
Facebook. By discussing the matter with a friend, she can gather more information
about the situation and gain insights into the possible reasons behind the negative
comments.
 Secondly, talking to a friend provides a supportive and understanding
environment. Friends can offer advice, empathy, and reassurance, helping my
sister navigate through the emotional impact of the situation. They can also
provide a fresh perspective and help her decide on the appropriate course of
action.
 For example, a friend may have noticed or heard something relevant to the
negative comments, such as a misunderstanding, jealousy, or a personal issue.
Their insights can shed light on the situation and guide my sister in addressing the
matter effectively.
 On the other hand, deactivating the Facebook account may not be a good choice.
Keeping the account active allows my sister to stay connected with others and
share updates about her life. Deactivating the account could isolate her from her
social circle and limit her ability to engage with others on the platform.
 Talking to the teacher may not be the most appropriate option in this case, as the
issue primarily concerns personal interactions on social media rather than a
school-related matter. It is more suitable for my sister to address the situation
privately with her friends.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to talk to my friend due to
the reasons mentioned above. It allows my sister to gather information, receive
support, and understand the reasons behind the negative comments on Facebook.
This approach enables her to make informed decisions on how to handle the
situation while maintaining an active and connected presence on the platform.
10. Cheating on exam
 subtract 50% (cheating is a crime so it’s not right and it’s not fair if he/she is
subtracted 50% of the marks, he/she should be punished for cheating.
 delete test paper (the best option because he/she cheats so the paper should be
given a zero. This is part of the school’s regulation.
 prohibition (I think this is a heavy punishment for only 1 time cheating)
 My situation is dealing with cheating on an exam, and in my opinion, deleting the
test paper and giving a zero is the best option because of the following reasons.
Firstly, cheating is a violation of academic integrity and goes against the principles
of fairness and honesty. By deleting the test paper and giving a zero, it enforces the
consequences of such behavior and upholds the school's regulations.
 Secondly, this approach sends a clear message that cheating is not acceptable and
will not be tolerated. It establishes a deterrent for future instances of cheating and
promotes a culture of academic integrity within the school community.
 For example, by deleting the test paper and giving a zero, it ensures that the
student does not benefit from their dishonest actions. It holds them accountable for
their behavior and sends a strong signal that cheating has serious consequences.
 On the other hand, subtracting 50% of the marks may not be an appropriate
choice. Cheating is a serious offense, and a mere reduction in marks may not
adequately address the issue or discourage further cheating. A more substantial
punishment is necessary to maintain the integrity of the education system.
 Similarly, imposing a prohibition as a punishment may be too severe for a first-
time offense. It is essential to consider the circumstances and provide an
appropriate consequence that allows the student to learn from their mistake and
rectify their behavior.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to delete the test paper and
give a zero as the appropriate consequence for cheating. This approach upholds
academic integrity, sends a strong message against cheating, and ensures that the
student does not benefit from their dishonest actions.

11. Choose primary school for your children

academic school, relaxing atmosphere, good facilities.
My situation is choosing a primary school for my children, and in my opinion, an
academic school is the best option because of the following reasons. Firstly, an academic-
focused school prioritizes the development of strong foundational knowledge and
essential skills, which are crucial for future academic success. It provides a rigorous
curriculum and effective teaching methods to ensure that students receive a quality
education.
Secondly, such a school emphasizes intellectual growth, critical thinking, and problem-
solving abilities. It equips children with the necessary skills to excel academically and
prepares them for higher levels of education.
For example, an academic school may offer a wide range of subjects, including
mathematics, sciences, languages, and humanities. It may also provide additional
resources such as libraries, laboratories, and educational technologies to enhance the
learning experience.
On the other hand, a relaxing atmosphere alone may not be sufficient in preparing
children for academic challenges. While it is important for children to feel comfortable
and enjoy their learning environment, an excessive focus on relaxation may undermine
the necessary academic rigor and discipline required for their educational journey.
Similarly, good facilities, although important, should not be the sole determining factor in
choosing a primary school. While modern and well-equipped facilities contribute to a
conducive learning environment, the quality of education and the school's academic focus
should take precedence.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose an academic school for my children
due to its emphasis on intellectual development, strong foundational knowledge, and
effective teaching methods. While a relaxing atmosphere and good facilities are
beneficial, they should complement and support the school's academic focus rather than
overshadow it.

12. Your sister’s class allows her to choose her seat and she is not shortsighted. There are
three options for her to choose.
 A front seat (are for short sighted students so my sister should not sit there)
 A middle seat (good for other students who are shorter than my sister
 A back seat. (the best choice, my sister is tall not short sighted, she still can see the
board when she sits in the back)
 My situation is that my sister has the freedom to choose her seat in class, and in
my opinion, the back seat is the best option for her because of the following
reasons. Firstly, the front seat is typically reserved for short-sighted students, and
since my sister does not have any visual impairment, it would not be appropriate
for her to sit there.
 Secondly, the middle seat may be suitable for students who are shorter in height,
but considering my sister's taller stature, the back seat would provide her with a
better view of the board and the teacher's instructions.
 For example, sitting in the back allows my sister to have an unobstructed line of
sight to the front of the classroom, enabling her to see and comprehend the lesson
materials effectively. It also minimizes distractions that may occur closer to the
front.
 On the other hand, choosing a front seat when not necessary for visual reasons
may limit my sister's overall view and interaction with the rest of the class. It is
important for her to have a comfortable seating position that allows her to actively
participate and engage with her peers.
 To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would advise my sister to choose the back
seat. It offers her a clear view of the board, eliminates unnecessary distractions,
and accommodates her taller stature. Considering her lack of visual impairment
and the benefits mentioned above, the back seat is the most suitable choice for her
in this scenario.

13. Summer camp (the best choice, have fun with friends, travel to a new place,
there are many activities for students to enjoy themselves)
live with grandpa ( get bored because no friends to play with, grandpa may not know how
to entertain the children)
military training course (too expensive, children have to stay far from parents/family )
My situation is deciding on summer activities for children, and in my opinion, a summer
camp is the best option because of the following reasons. Firstly, it provides an
opportunity for children to have fun with their friends and engage in various activities
that promote their social and personal development. They can enjoy themselves while
building new friendships and creating lasting memories.
Secondly, a summer camp offers the chance to travel to a new place, adding excitement
and adventure to the experience. Exploring unfamiliar environments, cultures, and
landscapes can broaden children's horizons and foster their personal growth.
For example, summer camps offer a wide range of activities that cater to different
interests and preferences. From sports and arts to team-building exercises and outdoor
adventures, there is something for everyone to enjoy and actively participate in.
On the other hand, living with a grandparent may not be as stimulating for children as a
summer camp. They may get bored without friends to play with, and their grandparent
may not possess the knowledge or resources to entertain them adequately.
Similarly, enrolling children in a military training course can be prohibitively expensive,
and the separation from parents and family can be emotionally challenging.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a summer camp for children due to
the reasons mentioned above. It offers the opportunity to have fun with friends, travel to
new places, and engage in various enjoyable activities. While living with a grandparent or
attending a military training course may have their merits, a summer camp provides a
more comprehensive and enriching experience for children during the summer break.

14. Get news

newspaper, online, radio
My situation is finding the best way to get news, and in my opinion, accessing news
online is the best option because of the following reasons. Firstly, online news platforms
provide instant access to the latest updates and breaking news from around the world.
With just a few clicks, we can stay informed about current events and developments in
real-time.
Secondly, online news offers a wide range of sources and perspectives. We can explore
multiple news websites, read articles, watch videos, and listen to podcasts from various
reputable sources. This diversity allows us to form a well-rounded understanding of
different viewpoints on important issues.
For example, online news platforms often provide interactive features such as comment
sections and social media sharing, enabling us to engage in discussions and share our
own opinions with a global audience. This fosters a sense of community and encourages
active participation in shaping public discourse.
On the other hand, relying solely on newspapers for news updates may result in delayed
information, as newspapers are published at specific intervals and may not cover the most
recent events comprehensively.
Similarly, while radio broadcasts offer live news updates and analysis, they lack the
visual component that online news provides, such as images, videos, and infographics,
which can enhance our understanding of complex topics.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose accessing news online due to its
immediacy, diverse sources, and interactive features. While newspapers and radio
broadcasts have their merits, online news offers a more dynamic and comprehensive
news experience in today's digital age.

Choice: Online
Reasons for choosing online:
1. Accessibility: Online news provides instant access to a wide range of sources from
anywhere with an internet connection, making it convenient for staying informed.
2. Timeliness: Online platforms offer real-time updates, breaking news alerts, and
live streaming options, ensuring the latest information is readily available.
3. Variety and customization: Online news allows access to diverse sources and the
ability to personalize news feeds based on individual interests.
4. Multimedia content: Online platforms incorporate multimedia elements like
images and videos, enhancing the news consumption experience.
5. Social interaction: Online news encourages sharing, discussion, and engagement
through comments, social media, and forums, enabling interaction with others.
Reasons for not choosing newspaper or radio: Newspaper:
1. Limited timeliness: Newspapers are printed on a fixed schedule and may not
provide the most current news.
2. Lack of interactivity: Newspapers do not offer the same level of interactivity and
engagement as online platforms.
Radio:
1. Limited access: Radio requires access to a specific station and may not offer the
same breadth of news coverage as online sources.
2. Lack of visual content: Radio lacks visual elements, such as images or videos,
which can provide additional context to news stories.
15. Graduate thesis
online, library, journals
Choice: Journals
Reasons for choosing journals for a graduate thesis:
1. Academic Credibility: Journals are a reputable and reliable source for scholarly
research. They undergo a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring the quality and
validity of the information.
2. Specialized Knowledge: Journals often focus on specific disciplines or fields,
providing in-depth and specialized information that is crucial for a graduate
thesis.
3. Current Research: Journals publish the latest research findings, allowing
researchers to stay updated with the most recent advancements in their field of
study.
4. Citations and References: Journals provide extensive bibliographic information,
including references and citations, which are essential for supporting and
grounding a graduate thesis in existing research.
5. Scholarly Network: Publishing in reputable journals can help researchers
establish connections with other experts in their field, leading to potential
collaborations and future research opportunities.
Reasons for not choosing online or library sources: Online Sources:
1. Variable Credibility: While online sources can be valuable for gathering
information, it is important to critically evaluate their credibility, as not all online
sources undergo the same level of scrutiny and peer-review as journals.
2. Lack of Specialization: Online sources may not always provide the same level of
depth and specialization as journals, which are specifically tailored to academic
research.
Library Sources:
1. Limited Access: Library sources may have limitations in terms of availability,
especially if they are rare or restricted materials.
2. Outdated Information: Some library sources may contain outdated information, as
they might not include the most recent research and advancements in the field.
Note: It is important to consult with academic advisors or the specific requirements of
the graduate program to determine the preferred sources for the thesis.
My situation is writing a graduate thesis, and in my opinion, choosing journals as a
source is the best option because of the following reasons. Firstly, journals have academic
credibility as they undergo a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring the quality and
validity of the research published. This credibility is essential for maintaining the
scholarly integrity of a graduate thesis.
Secondly, journals often focus on specific disciplines or fields, providing specialized
knowledge that is crucial for a graduate thesis. They offer in-depth information and
analysis that goes beyond what can be found in general online or library sources.
Thirdly, journals publish the latest research findings, allowing researchers to stay updated
with the most recent advancements in their field of study. This is especially important for
a graduate thesis as it demonstrates the researcher's knowledge of current research trends
and their ability to contribute to the field.
Furthermore, journals provide extensive bibliographic information, including references
and citations, which are essential for supporting and grounding a graduate thesis in
existing research. These citations help establish the credibility and validity of the thesis
by connecting it to established scholarly works.
Lastly, publishing in reputable journals can help researchers establish connections within
their scholarly network. This opens up opportunities for collaborations and future
research prospects, enhancing the researcher's academic and professional development.
On the other hand, online sources may vary in terms of credibility, and it is important to
critically evaluate their reliability. Additionally, they may not provide the same level of
specialization and in-depth analysis as journals. Similarly, library sources may have
limited access to rare or restricted materials, and they may not always include the most
recent research and advancements in the field.
In conclusion, for a graduate thesis, choosing journals as a source offers academic
credibility, specialized knowledge, access to current research, extensive references and
citations, and the opportunity to connect with experts in the field. It is important to
consult with academic advisors or the specific requirements of the graduate program to
determine the preferred sources for the thesis.

17. You have to raise money. Three places are suggested: school/individual/ company.
What is the best choice?
The best choice to raise money is at the company for the following reasons. Firstly, a
company is a big organization which often sets aside some funding for charity. It’s easier
to ask the managers to give away money to help poor people. Secondly, employees in the
company are working adults with salaries, so I think they will support our plan.
I would not choose to raise money at school because students don’t have money and
teachers are often not rich enough to help other people.
Finally, asking individuals to support our plan is not a good choice either because they
do not know us so they would not be willing to give money.
To sum up, raising money in the company is the best choice.

In my situation of needing to raise money, I believe the best choice is to approach

companies for fundraising. This choice is the best option because of the following
reasons.
Firstly, companies have the potential to provide larger financial contributions compared
to individuals or relying solely on the school's resources. Their established budgets and
corporate social responsibility initiatives allow for more significant financial support,
which can help achieve the fundraising goal more effectively.
Secondly, partnering with companies for fundraising can provide additional benefits
beyond monetary contributions. Companies can offer in-kind donations, such as products
or services, which can be used for fundraising events or auctions. Their involvement can
also help raise awareness about the fundraising campaign to a wider audience through
their marketing and promotional efforts.
For example, a company may sponsor a fundraising event and leverage its network and
resources to attract more participants and potential donors, thereby increasing the chances
of fundraising success.
On the other hand, relying solely on individuals for fundraising may limit the overall
amount of funds raised. While individuals can contribute, their financial capacity might
be more limited compared to companies. Moreover, depending solely on the school's
resources may not be sufficient to meet the fundraising goal, as schools often have
limited budgets and resources.
In conclusion, if I were in a situation where I needed to raise money, I would choose to
approach companies for fundraising due to their potential for larger financial
contributions, additional resources, and wider network reach. This choice provides a
higher likelihood of achieving the fundraising goal effectively and efficiently.
18. You have two weeks before final exams. Would you stay home to revise (ôn tập) for
the test; go on holiday with family; (and) join friends for parties? What is your best
choice?
The best choice to make in this situation is to stay home and revise for the final exams.
Firstly, revising at home allows for a focused and distraction-free study environment,
which is essential for effective learning and retention of the material. Sencondly,
dedicating time to revision ensures thorough understanding of the topics and increases
the chances of performing well on the exams. For example, by reviewing key concepts
and practicing sample questions, one can strengthen their knowledge and improve their
problem-solving skills.
I would not choose to go on holiday with family because it would divert attention and
time away from exam preparation. The purpose of the two-week period before final
exams is to prioritize studying and ensure academic success. Taking a holiday during this
critical time may hinder adequate preparation and potentially impact exam performance.
Finally, joining friends for parties is not a good choice either because it can be a major
distraction from studying. Parties often involve socializing, entertainment, and late
nights, which can disrupt sleep patterns and diminish focus. Engaging in excessive social
activities during this period may lead to a lack of preparation and result in suboptimal
exam performance.
To sum up, the best choice is to stay home and revise for the final exams. This option
allows for focused studying, thorough understanding of the material, and maximizes the
chances of achieving good results. Prioritizing exam preparation during this critical
period will set the foundation for success and can be followed by enjoyable activities and
quality time with family and friends after the exams.
--
The best choice to make in this situation is to stay home to revise for the test, for the
following reasons. Firstly, final exams require focused preparation and dedicating time to
revision at home will allow for concentrated studying without distractions. Secondly,
revising at home provides a familiar and comfortable environment that can enhance
concentration and retention of information. For example, a quiet study space and access
to necessary study materials can contribute to effective learning.
I would not choose to go on holiday with family because it may disrupt the study routine
and limit the amount of time available for revision. Family holidays are enjoyable, but
during this critical period, it is crucial to prioritize exam preparation over leisure
activities.
Similarly, joining friends for parties is not a good choice either because it can lead to
distractions, late nights, and a lack of focus on studying. Parties can be fun, but they may
hinder productive studying and negatively impact exam performance.
To sum up, staying home to revise for the test is the best choice. It allows for focused
preparation, a conducive study environment, and ample time to review and consolidate
knowledge. Prioritizing revision will increase the chances of performing well on the final
exams and achieving academic success.

19. The manager of an English center wants to advertise it. There are three suggested
media: TV, internet and radio. What is your best choice?
My situation is that I am the manager of an English center and I need to decide on the
best advertising option. In my opinion, the internet is the best choice because of several
reasons.
Firstly, the internet offers a wide reach and is an integral part of people's lives. It allows
us to target specific demographics and effectively reach potential students. With a large
number of internet users, our advertisement can reach a vast audience interested in
learning English.
Secondly, advertising on the internet is cost-effective compared to TV and radio. TV ads
involve high production costs and airtime fees, which may not be suitable for a local
English center. Online advertising provides flexible budgeting options, allowing us to
allocate resources efficiently and maximize our return on investment.
For example, we can create engaging content and use social media platforms to promote
our English center. By sharing success stories, testimonials, and interactive learning
materials, we can generate interest and attract potential students. Online ads can also be
targeted based on location and interests, ensuring our message reaches the right
audience.
I would not choose TV as it is expensive and may not effectively reach our target
audience. Additionally, TV ads have a limited duration and can be easily skipped or
ignored.
Finally, radio is not a good choice because it lacks the visual component, which is
essential for promoting an English center. Without visuals, it becomes challenging to
showcase the benefits and features of our center.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose internet advertising due to its wide
reach, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to engage potential students with visual content.
20. Your volunteer group is organizing a trip to help children in a remote area. There
are three options: reading books, buying clothes and watching movies. What is your best
choice?
My situation is that I am part of a volunteer group organizing a trip to help children in a
remote area. In my opinion, the best choice among the options of reading books, buying
clothes, and watching movies would be reading books. This choice is supported by the
following reasons.
Firstly, reading books provides valuable educational and intellectual benefits to children.
It promotes literacy, expands their knowledge, and enhances their cognitive skills. By
providing access to books, we can empower children with the tools for self-improvement
and lifelong learning. Books have the power to inspire creativity, stimulate imagination,
and foster a love for reading.
Secondly, reading books can have a lasting impact on the children's lives. Books offer a
gateway to different cultures, perspectives, and ideas, broadening their horizons and
promoting empathy. They can serve as a source of inspiration, empowering children to
dream big and pursue their aspirations. Reading also improves language skills and critical
thinking abilities, which are essential for their overall development.
For example, during our trip, we can organize reading sessions where volunteers read
aloud and engage with the children, encouraging discussions and fostering a love for
books. We can also provide them with age-appropriate books to take home, creating a
sustainable impact beyond our visit.
I would not choose buying clothes as the primary option because while clothing is
important, the long-term impact on the children's education and personal growth may not
be as significant as that of reading books. Similarly, watching movies may provide
temporary entertainment, but it does not offer the same educational and intellectual
benefits as reading.
In conclusion, if I were in that situation, I would choose reading books as the best choice
for our trip. It enables us to empower children through education, nurture their
imagination, and create a lasting impact on their lives.

21. A group of people is planning a trip from Danang to Hanoi. Three means of
transport are suggested:
 by train,
 by plane,
 by coach (xe khách). Which means of transport do you think is the best choice?
My situation is that I am part of a group planning a trip from Danang to Hanoi. In my
opinion, the best choice among the suggested means of transport - by train, by plane, and
by coach - would be by plane. This choice is supported by the following reasons.
Firstly, traveling by plane offers the fastest and most time-efficient option. The distance
between Danang and Hanoi is significant, and air travel allows us to cover this distance
quickly, saving valuable time. This is particularly beneficial for travelers who have
limited time or want to maximize their time exploring the destination rather than
spending it on transportation.
Secondly, flying provides comfort and convenience. Modern airplanes are equipped with
amenities that ensure a comfortable journey, such as spacious seating, climate control,
and entertainment systems. Additionally, airports are well-equipped with facilities,
including restaurants, lounges, and duty-free shops, allowing travelers to relax and make
the most of their transit time.
For example, by choosing to travel by plane, our group can arrive in Hanoi within a few
hours, giving us ample time to explore and enjoy the city's attractions and activities. It
allows us to make the most of our trip and optimize our travel experience.
I would not choose traveling by train because it generally takes longer compared to air
travel. Although train journeys can offer scenic views and a unique experience, they may
not be the most practical choice when time is a factor.
Finally, traveling by coach may be a more economical option, but it also tends to be a
longer journey compared to flying. Coaches are subject to traffic conditions and frequent
stops along the way, which can significantly extend the travel time.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose traveling by plane as the best means
of transport for our trip from Danang to Hanoi. It offers speed, convenience, and
efficiency, allowing us to make the most of our time and enjoy our destination to the
fullest.

22. You are thinking about how to congratulate your close friend’s birthday. There
are three ways: posting on facebook/ making a phone call/ sending a card. What is your
best choice?
My situation is that I am thinking about how to congratulate my close friend on their
birthday. In my opinion, the best choice among the options of posting on Facebook,
making a phone call, and sending a card would be making a phone call. This choice is
supported by the following reasons.
Firstly, making a phone call allows for a more personal and direct connection with my
close friend. Hearing each other's voices and engaging in a conversation adds a warm
and personal touch to the birthday wishes. It provides an opportunity to express sincere
emotions, share memories, and engage in real-time interaction, making the birthday
greeting more meaningful.
Secondly, a phone call offers immediate and instant communication. Unlike posting on
Facebook or sending a card, which may take time to reach the recipient, a phone call
ensures that my friend receives the birthday wishes promptly. It allows us to connect in
real-time and share the joy and excitement of the special day.
For example, by making a phone call, I can have a heartfelt conversation, catch up on
recent events, and express my wishes and blessings directly to my friend. It creates a
more personal and intimate experience, reinforcing the bond of friendship.
I would not choose posting on Facebook as the primary option because although it is
convenient and can reach a wider audience, it lacks the personal touch and may not have
the same level of emotional impact as a phone call. Facebook messages can sometimes
feel impersonal and less meaningful, especially on special occasions like birthdays.
Similarly, sending a card, although a thoughtful gesture, may take longer to reach my
friend, especially if there are delays in postal services. It may also lack the immediate
connection and personal interaction that a phone call provides.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose making a phone call as the best
choice to congratulate my close friend on their birthday. It allows for a personal and
direct connection, immediate communication, and the opportunity to express genuine
emotions and well wishes.

23. A youth club is inviting a speaker to talk about life experience. There are 3
people suggested.
famous singer, company president, excellent student. What is the best choice?
 company president: it is useful (company presidents often have much life
experience to share// they are successful in their career and have good
communication skills)
 excellent students: they are too young, and don’t have a lot of life experience.
 Famous singer: it is not suitable because they do not have suitable experience.
My situation is that a youth club is in the process of selecting a speaker to talk about life
experience. The club has three suggestions: a company president, an excellent student,
and a famous singer. In my opinion, the best choice would be the company president for
the following reasons.
Firstly, a company president possesses a wealth of life experience to share. They have
likely faced various challenges and obstacles throughout their career, making their
insights valuable and relatable to the youth club members. Their experiences can provide
guidance and inspiration for young individuals navigating their own paths in life.
Secondly, a company president often possesses strong leadership and communication
skills. These skills are crucial for effectively conveying their life experiences and
engaging the audience. They can articulate their journey, share valuable lessons, and
inspire the youth club members to strive for success in their own endeavors.
For example, the company president can share stories of overcoming setbacks, making
tough decisions, and achieving milestones in their professional life. These anecdotes can
serve as powerful motivators and teach important life lessons to the youth club members.
I would not choose the famous singer as a speaker because while they may have achieved
success in their field, their life experiences may not directly align with the overall theme
of the talk. The focus of the event is on broader life experiences, and a famous singer's
career may not encompass the same range of challenges and lessons as that of a
company president.
Lastly, while an excellent student may possess impressive academic achievements, their
life experience may be relatively limited compared to a company president. They are still
in the early stages of their personal and professional development, and their insights may
not provide the same depth and breadth as someone with more life experience.
In conclusion, if I were in that situation, I would choose a company president as the best
choice for the youth club's speaker on life experience. Their extensive experience,
leadership skills, and relatable stories make them ideal candidates to inspire and guide
the young audience.

24. You are planning to have a Sunday evening out. There are 3 options to choose:
 seeing a movie
 going shopping
 singing Karaoke. What is the best choice?
My situation is that I am planning to have a Sunday evening out and I have three options
to choose from: seeing a movie, going shopping, and singing karaoke. In my opinion, the
best choice would be singing karaoke for the following reasons.
Firstly, singing karaoke provides a fun and interactive experience. It allows me to
express myself creatively, enjoy music, and have a great time with friends or family.
Karaoke sessions often involve laughter, bonding, and creating memorable moments,
making it an enjoyable and entertaining choice for a Sunday evening out.
Secondly, singing karaoke offers a unique form of self-expression. It allows me to choose
and perform my favorite songs, showcasing my vocal abilities and connecting with the
music on a personal level. It can be a stress-relieving activity, providing a chance to let
loose, unleash my inner performer, and simply have a good time.
For example, gathering at a karaoke lounge or using a karaoke machine at home with
loved ones can create a lively and energetic atmosphere. We can take turns singing,
encouraging each other, and enjoying the music together, fostering a sense of
camaraderie and shared enjoyment.
I would not choose seeing a movie because it is a more passive and solitary activity.
While watching a movie can be enjoyable, it may not provide the same level of social
interaction and engagement as singing karaoke.
Similarly, going shopping can be a leisurely activity, but it may not offer the same level of
excitement and entertainment as singing karaoke. Shopping is often focused on
individual preferences and may not foster the same level of group interaction and
enjoyment.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose singing karaoke as the best choice
for a Sunday evening out. It provides a fun, interactive, and engaging experience,
allowing me to express myself through music, bond with others, and create lasting
memories.

25. Younger sister told lies many times. What are you going to do
 having a talk with her (the best choice, I will talk to her, explain to her that it’s not
good to tell lies, give her good advice)
 informing your parents (not necessary, my parents may not understand my sister as
much as I do, her lies are not that serious, I would do this if my sister continued to
tell lies, parents may punish my sister and I do not want this to happen)
 letting her continue telling lies (not good for her character development in the
future)
What is your choice?
My situation is that my younger sister has been telling lies repeatedly. In my opinion, the
best option would be to have a talk with her about this issue. This choice is supported by
the following reasons.
Firstly, having a talk with her allows for open communication and understanding. It
provides an opportunity to address the problem directly and express my concerns about
her habit of lying. Through a conversation, I can emphasize the importance of honesty
and the negative consequences that lying can have on relationships and trust.
Secondly, talking to her can help uncover the underlying reasons behind her tendency to
lie. It is possible that she may be experiencing difficulties or fears that lead her to resort
to dishonesty. By listening to her perspective, I can offer guidance, support, and help her
find healthier ways to deal with her emotions or challenges.
For example, during the conversation, I can share personal experiences or stories to
illustrate the impact of lying and how honesty can strengthen relationships. I can also
provide guidance on problem-solving strategies or offer suggestions for alternative ways
to communicate or express herself.
I would not choose to inform my parents as the first course of action because involving
them immediately may create a sense of fear or hostility. It is important to establish trust
and open communication with my sister first, allowing her the opportunity to understand
and rectify her behavior.
Lastly, letting her continue telling lies is not a good choice either because it enables and
reinforces this negative behavior. Ignoring the issue may lead to further complications
and damage trust within the family.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to have a talk with my younger
sister about her habit of lying. By addressing the issue directly, offering guidance, and
emphasizing the importance of honesty, we can work towards fostering trust and helping
her develop more positive communication habits.

26. You are studying economics and need daily update on economic news:
 Internet/
 Tv/
 radio. What is the best choice?
My situation is that I am studying economics and need daily updates on economic news.
In my opinion, the best choice for receiving these updates would be the internet. This
choice is supported by the following reasons.
Firstly, the internet provides a wide range of sources and platforms dedicated to
economic news. Various reputable websites, news portals, and financial publications
offer up-to-date information on economic trends, market analysis, and policy
developments. This accessibility allows me to stay informed and access a diverse range
of perspectives and insights.
Secondly, the internet offers convenience and flexibility. I can access economic news
anytime and anywhere using a computer, laptop, or mobile device with an internet
connection. This flexibility allows me to integrate the consumption of economic news into
my daily routine and stay updated without being tied to specific broadcast schedules.
For example, by browsing economic news websites, I can read articles, watch video
interviews, and listen to expert opinions on various economic topics. I can also utilize
social media platforms to follow influential economists and financial institutions,
enabling me to receive real-time updates and engage in discussions with a broader
community.
I would not choose TV as the primary option because it is limited by specific
programming schedules and may not always prioritize economic news coverage. While
some dedicated channels offer economic analysis and reports, the content may be less
comprehensive compared to the vast resources available on the internet.
Similarly, radio may provide economic news updates, but it lacks the visual element and
depth of information compared to internet sources. The nature of radio broadcasting may
also restrict the frequency and timing of updates.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose the internet as the best choice for
daily updates on economic news. Its vast resources, convenience, and flexibility allow me
to access a wide range of information, stay informed, and deepen my understanding of
economic trends and developments.

27. Your friend is going to study abroad next month. What will you give them?
 A favorite book
 A photo album
 handmade scarf
My situation is that my friend is going to study abroad next month, and I need to decide
what gift to give them. In my opinion, the best option would be a photo album. This
choice is supported by the following reasons.
Firstly, a photo album captures and preserves precious memories. It allows my friend to
reminisce about the shared moments and experiences we have had together. The
photographs can serve as a reminder of our friendship and provide comfort and
familiarity when they are far away from home.
Secondly, a photo album is a personal and thoughtful gift. It shows that I have put effort
and care into curating the photos and creating a meaningful collection. Each picture can
be accompanied by handwritten notes or captions, expressing well wishes,
encouragement, and reminders of our special bond.
For example, I can include pictures of significant events, trips, or gatherings that we
have enjoyed together. This visual representation of our friendship can be a source of
comfort and inspiration for my friend during their time abroad.
I would not choose a favorite book as a gift because it may not hold the same personal
connection and sentimental value as a photo album. While books can be enjoyable and
meaningful, they may not capture the essence of our friendship in the same way as a
collection of shared memories.
Similarly, a handmade scarf, while a thoughtful gesture, may not have the same lasting
emotional impact as a photo album. The scarf can provide physical warmth, but it may
not have the same ability to evoke memories and emotions.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to give my friend a photo album as
a gift before they study abroad. It serves as a tangible reminder of our friendship,
captures precious memories, and provides comfort during their time away.

28. The government is asking for citizens’ opinion on how to deal with smoking in
public areas.
 Fining smokers at least 500.000VND
 Asking smokers to do community service
 Sending smokers to prison
My situation is that the government is seeking citizens' opinions on how to address
smoking in public areas. In my opinion, asking smokers to do community service is the
best option for several reasons.
Firstly, fining smokers at least 500,000VND may not effectively deter smoking in public
areas. While financial penalties can serve as a deterrent, the proposed amount may not
be significant enough to discourage repeat offenses. Additionally, fines alone may not
address the underlying issue of smoking in public spaces.
Secondly, sending smokers to prison seems excessive and disproportionate for the offense
of smoking in public areas. Imprisonment should be reserved for more serious offenses,
and enforcing such a measure for smoking could burden the legal system and overcrowd
prisons.
On the other hand, asking smokers to do community service offers a more constructive
approach. Community service can be tailored to raise awareness about the harms of
smoking, educate the public, and promote healthier lifestyles. Smokers can be engaged in
activities such as organizing anti-smoking campaigns, participating in public health
initiatives, or assisting in community projects that discourage smoking.
For example, smokers performing community service can contribute to cleaning up
public spaces, removing cigarette litter, or assisting in programs aimed at supporting
individuals who want to quit smoking. This approach encourages responsibility, personal
growth, and community involvement while addressing the issue at hand.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to ask smokers to do community
service as the best option for dealing with smoking in public areas. It promotes
awareness, education, and personal development while addressing the issue through
constructive engagement rather than punitive measures.

29. Your brother is a university student who likes traveling. Give him a birthday
gift.
 A selfie stick
 A camera
 A 3-day holiday tour
My situation is that my brother is a university student who enjoys traveling, and I need to
decide on a birthday gift for him. In my opinion, a 3-day holiday tour would be the best
option for several reasons.
Firstly, a 3-day holiday tour provides a unique and memorable experience. It offers my
brother the opportunity to explore new destinations, immerse himself in different cultures,
and create lasting memories. This gift goes beyond material possessions and offers him
the chance to enrich his travel experiences and broaden his horizons.
Secondly, a holiday tour allows my brother to take a break from his studies and relax.
University life can be demanding, and a short getaway provides a well-deserved respite.
It allows him to recharge, rejuvenate, and enjoy quality time away from academic
commitments.
For example, the holiday tour could include visits to popular tourist attractions,
engaging in outdoor activities, or experiencing local traditions and cuisine. It offers a
blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion, catering to my brother's interests
as a travel enthusiast.
I would not choose a selfie stick as a gift because it is a more limited and accessory-like
item. While it can enhance the photography experience, it may not provide the same level
of enjoyment and fulfillment as a holiday tour.
Similarly, while a camera can be a valuable tool for capturing travel memories, it is a
standalone item that may not offer the same immersive experience as a holiday tour. A
camera can be a complementary gift to document his travels during the tour.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to gift my brother a 3-day holiday
tour for his birthday. It offers him an unforgettable experience, a break from university
life, and the opportunity to create lifelong memories.

30. Your friend feels stressed with her busy but boring life. Which of the following
activities do you think we should do to refresh her?
 Taking up a sport
 Learning a new skill
 Doing volunteer work

My situation is that my friend feels stressed with her busy but boring life, and I need to
decide on an activity to refresh her. In my opinion, learning a new skill is the best option
for several reasons.
Firstly, learning a new skill brings a sense of novelty and excitement to one's life. It
provides a fresh perspective and challenges the monotony of a routine. By acquiring a
new skill, my friend can engage in a stimulating and fulfilling activity that sparks her
interest and passion.
Secondly, learning a new skill offers personal growth and development. It provides an
opportunity for my friend to expand her knowledge, acquire new competencies, and
enhance her self-confidence. This process of learning and self-improvement can boost
her overall well-being and provide a sense of accomplishment.
For example, my friend could explore various options such as painting, playing a
musical instrument, or learning a new language. These activities not only stimulate
creativity but also provide a platform for self-expression and personal exploration.
I would not choose taking up a sport as the primary option because it may add to the
physical demands and time commitments of my friend's already busy life. While sports
can be a great way to relieve stress, they may not address the aspect of boredom in her
life.
Similarly, while doing volunteer work is noble and fulfilling, it may not directly address
the issue of boredom. Volunteer work requires time and dedication, and it may not
provide the same level of personal interest and engagement as learning a new skill.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would suggest that my friend learns a new skill to
refresh herself. It offers novelty, personal growth, and a sense of accomplishment. By
exploring a new area of interest, she can break free from the monotony of her routine and
discover new avenues for self-expression and fulfillment.

31. Your father is going to retire next week. What should you buy for him?
 A bottle of champagne (my father does not drink, he does not like drinking, wine
is not good for older people)
 A puppy – yes, the best choice because he loves pets, a puppy may become a good
friend for him, when he feels bored, he can play with the puppy
 A tie – not necessary because he has many ties

My situation is that my father is about to retire, and I need to decide on a gift for him. In
my opinion, a puppy would be the best option for several reasons.
Firstly, my father loves pets, and a puppy would bring him immense joy and
companionship during his retirement. Having a furry friend by his side can provide
emotional support, reduce feelings of loneliness, and offer a source of entertainment and
affection.
Secondly, a puppy can become a loyal and loving companion for my father. It can bring a
sense of purpose and responsibility, as he takes care of its needs and watches it grow. The
presence of a playful and energetic puppy can bring life and excitement to his days, and
they can form a deep bond as they spend quality time together.
For example, my father can take the puppy for walks, play fetch, or simply relax together.
This interaction can provide him with a sense of fulfillment and a positive outlet for his
time and energy.
I would not choose a bottle of champagne as my father does not drink and does not have
an interest in alcoholic beverages. Additionally, wine is not recommended for older
individuals, so it would not be suitable or beneficial for him.
Furthermore, buying a tie would not be necessary as my father likely already has a
collection of ties from his professional life. While it may be a practical gift, it may not
hold the same sentimental value or bring the same level of joy as a puppy.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to buy a puppy as a gift for my
father's retirement. It would provide him with companionship, joy, and a new source of
excitement and purpose during this new phase of his life.

32. Do you want to buy some clothes? Where should you buy?
 A shop
 An open air markets.
 An online shop

My situation is that I want to buy some clothes, and I need to decide where to make my
purchase. In my opinion, an online shop is the best option for several reasons.
Firstly, an online shop offers convenience and accessibility. I can browse and shop for
clothes from the comfort of my own home or any location with an internet connection.
This saves time and eliminates the need for physical travel to a shop or open-air market.
Secondly, an online shop provides a wide variety of clothing options. I can explore
numerous brands, styles, and sizes without limitations. Online platforms often offer
extensive catalogs and filters to help me find exactly what I'm looking for.
For example, I can compare prices, read customer reviews, and view detailed product
descriptions and images. This allows me to make informed decisions and find the best
deals.
I would not choose an open-air market because it may have limited options and
availability compared to an online shop. While open-air markets can offer a unique
shopping experience and a chance to bargain, they may not provide the same
convenience and range of choices as an online shop.
Similarly, while a physical shop allows for trying on clothes before making a purchase, it
may have a more limited selection compared to an online shop. Additionally, visiting a
shop involves traveling and potential time constraints.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to buy clothes from an online shop.
It provides convenience, a wide range of options, and the ability to make informed
decisions. Shopping online allows me to find the clothes I want without the limitations of
physical locations or time constraints.

33. A foreign friend is going to visit a city in Vietnam in August for 3 days. Where
would you recommend for her to visit?
 Ha Noi
 Ho Chi Minh city
 Hue

My situation is that I need to recommend a city in Vietnam for my foreign friend to visit
during her 3-day trip in August. In my opinion, Ha Noi would be the best option for
several reasons.
Firstly, Ha Noi, the capital city of Vietnam, offers a rich cultural and historical
experience. It is home to numerous iconic landmarks such as the Hoan Kiem Lake, the
Temple of Literature, and the Old Quarter. Exploring these sites would provide my friend
with insights into Vietnam's history, architecture, and traditions.
Secondly, Ha Noi boasts a vibrant culinary scene with a diverse range of street food and
local delicacies. From enjoying a bowl of pho to indulging in egg coffee, my friend can
savor the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine and experience the bustling atmosphere
of local markets and food stalls.
For example, she can take a walking tour through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter,
sample local snacks, and engage with friendly vendors.
I would not choose Ho Chi Minh City or Hue as the top recommendation. While Ho Chi
Minh City is a bustling metropolis with modern amenities and a lively nightlife, its
historical attractions may be overshadowed by its urban character. On the other hand,
while Hue is known for its imperial citadel and royal tombs, it may require more than
three days to fully explore and appreciate its cultural heritage.
Finally, to sum up, if I were in that situation, I would recommend Ha Noi to my foreign
friend. Its blend of history, culture, and culinary delights make it an ideal destination for
a memorable and enriching 3-day visit in Vietnam.

34. Helping mountainous children

 Money
 Old clothes
 Notebooks and pencils

My situation is that I want to help mountainous children, and I need to decide how to
provide assistance. In my opinion, donating notebooks and pencils is the best option for
several reasons.
Firstly, by donating notebooks and pencils, we can support the educational needs of
mountainous children. These basic school supplies are essential for their learning and
development. Providing them with the tools to pursue education can empower them for a
brighter future.
Secondly, donating notebooks and pencils is a cost-effective option. Compared to giving
money or old clothes, purchasing school supplies is relatively affordable and allows us to
reach a larger number of children in need. This way, we can maximize the impact of our
support.
For example, with the donated notebooks and pencils, the children can engage in
meaningful learning activities, take notes, and complete their assignments. This
contributes to their educational progress and opens doors to new opportunities.
I would not choose to donate money because it may not directly address the specific
needs of the mountainous children. While money can be used for various purposes,
including education, there is a risk of it being misused or not reaching its intended
purpose.
Similarly, donating old clothes, although a kind gesture, may not have the same long-
term impact as providing educational supplies. Clothing needs can vary, and focusing on
education helps address the root cause of poverty and inequality.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose to donate notebooks and pencils to
help mountainous children. It is a practical and targeted approach that supports their
education and equips them with essential tools for a better future.

35. You have some weak students in class. You want to help them. There are 3
options:
 a teacher/
 a tutor/
 an excellent classmate

My situation is that I have some weak students in my class, and I want to help them
improve their academic performance. In my opinion, a tutor is the best option for several
reasons.
Firstly, a tutor can provide personalized attention and tailored instruction to meet the
specific needs of each weak student. They can assess the students' strengths and
weaknesses, identify areas for improvement, and design customized learning plans. This
individualized approach can enhance the students' understanding and help them grasp
difficult concepts.
Secondly, a tutor can offer additional support outside the regular classroom setting. They
can provide extra practice materials, engage the students in interactive learning
activities, and clarify any doubts or questions. This one-on-one interaction fosters a
conducive learning environment and boosts the students' confidence.
For example, the tutor can use different teaching strategies, such as visual aids or hands-
on activities, to make the learning process more engaging and effective. They can also
provide timely feedback and guidance, reinforcing the weak students' progress and
addressing their challenges.
I would not choose relying solely on the classroom teacher because they have limited
time and resources to cater to the specific needs of each weak student. With a large class
size and a fixed curriculum, it can be challenging for the teacher to provide individual
attention to every student.
Similarly, while an excellent classmate can offer peer support and guidance, they may
not possess the same expertise and teaching skills as a dedicated tutor. The excellent
classmate may be knowledgeable in certain subjects but may lack the pedagogical
training and experience to effectively address the weak students' learning gaps.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a tutor to help the weak students in
my class. Their personalized instruction, additional support, and expertise would make a
significant difference in improving the students' academic performance and fostering
their overall growth.

[Link] family is discussing how your nephew spends his summer holiday.
 Joining a summer camp
 Doing military training
 Staying with his grandparents.

My situation is that my family is discussing how my nephew should spend his summer
holiday. In my opinion, joining a summer camp is the best option for several reasons.
Firstly, a summer camp offers a wide range of activities and opportunities for personal
growth. It provides a structured and supervised environment where my nephew can
engage in various sports, outdoor adventures, creative arts, and educational workshops.
This exposure to new experiences can broaden his horizons, develop his skills, and foster
independence.
Secondly, a summer camp allows my nephew to socialize and make new friends.
Interacting with peers from different backgrounds and cultures can enhance his
interpersonal skills, teamwork abilities, and resilience. Building friendships in a camp
setting promotes a sense of belonging and self-confidence.
For example, my nephew can participate in team-building activities, campfire
discussions, and group projects, which encourage collaboration, communication, and
problem-solving skills. These experiences can have a positive impact on his personal and
social development.
I would not choose military training as it may not align with my nephew's interests and
preferences. Military training is more focused on discipline, physical fitness, and specific
skill sets. It may not provide the same holistic and diverse learning opportunities as a
summer camp.
Similarly, while staying with his grandparents can be a comfortable and familiar option,
it may not offer the same level of engagement, personal growth, and social interaction as
a summer camp. Although spending quality time with family is valuable, exploring new
environments and engaging with a diverse group of peers can broaden my nephew's
perspectives and enrich his overall summer experience.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose for my nephew to join a summer
camp. It would provide him with a well-rounded and enriching experience, including a
variety of activities, social interactions, and personal growth opportunities.
46. Your university offers free courses for graduate students. Which would you
choose? There are THREE options for you to choose:
 A swimming course
 A time-management course
 A public speaking course
indispensable crowd 5 years old balanced way

My situation is that I am a graduate student at my university and I have the opportunity

to choose from three free courses: a swimming course, a time-management course, and a
public speaking course. In my opinion, the best option for me would be the time-
management course because of the following reasons.
Firstly, as a graduate student, managing my time effectively is crucial. Balancing
academic responsibilities, personal commitments, and extracurricular activities can be
challenging. By taking a time-management course, I can learn valuable strategies and
techniques to optimize my productivity and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Secondly, acquiring strong time-management skills will benefit me not only during my
studies but also in my future career. Employers highly value individuals who can
effectively manage their time, meet deadlines, and maintain a balanced workload. This
course would equip me with the necessary tools to excel in a professional environment.
For example, with improved time-management skills, I can allocate dedicated time slots
for studying, leisure activities, and socializing. This would enable me to maintain a
healthy work-life balance, preventing burnout and ensuring overall well-being.
I would not choose the swimming course because although it may provide physical
exercise and relaxation, it does not directly address the challenges I face as a graduate
student. Similarly, the public speaking course, while beneficial in enhancing
communication skills, may not be as essential for my current academic pursuits.
Finally, the time-management course is not only relevant to my current situation but also
offers long-term advantages. It empowers me to become more organized, disciplined, and
focused, skills that are indispensable in any field of work.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose the time-management course due to
its relevance, immediate benefits, and long-term impact on my personal and professional
life. It would enable me to manage my responsibilities effectively, maintain a balanced
lifestyle, and succeed in my academic and future endeavors.

42. You are getting fat and you decide to lose weight. Which weight loss method
would you like to choose? There are THREE options for you to choose:
 Going to the gym choose/gym/drug/digestion.
 Taking weight loss drugs
 Going on a diet.
My situation is that I have gained weight and I have made the decision to lose weight. In
my opinion, going on a diet is the best option because of the following reasons.
Firstly, diet plays a significant role in weight loss. By adopting a healthy and balanced
eating plan, I can control my calorie intake and make nutritious choices. This method
allows me to develop sustainable habits and promote long-term weight management.
Secondly, going on a diet encourages a holistic approach to weight loss. It not only
focuses on reducing body fat but also emphasizes overall well-being. A nutritious diet
can provide essential nutrients, boost energy levels, and improve digestion, leading to
better overall health.
For example, by incorporating more fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins into my diet, I
can maintain a nutrient-rich and satisfying eating routine. Additionally, I can control
portion sizes and limit the consumption of high-calorie and processed foods, which are
common contributors to weight gain.
I would not choose going to the gym as the primary weight loss method because exercise
alone may not yield significant results without addressing dietary choices. Although
regular physical activity is beneficial for overall health and can support weight loss
efforts, it should be combined with a proper diet for optimal results.
Finally, taking weight loss drugs is not a good choice either because it may have
potential side effects and is not a sustainable solution. Relying solely on medication
without making lifestyle changes is unlikely to lead to long-term weight loss success.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose going on a diet due to its focus on
healthy eating, overall well-being, and potential for sustainable weight loss. By adopting
a nutritious and balanced eating plan, I can make positive changes to my diet, promote
weight loss, and improve my overall health.
43. It is getting hotter, and your family is planning a trip to one of the 3 places that
are suggested. A seaside resort, a lakeside hotel, a countryside cottage.
My situation is that it is getting hotter, and my family is planning a trip to one of the three
suggested places: a seaside resort, a lakeside hotel, or a countryside cottage. In my
opinion, a seaside resort is the best option because of the following reasons.
Firstly, a seaside resort offers a refreshing escape from the heat. The cool ocean breeze
and the opportunity to swim in the sea provide a pleasant respite from the rising
temperatures. It allows us to relax, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the coastline.
Secondly, a seaside resort offers a wide range of recreational activities for the entire
family. From beach volleyball and water sports to exploring nearby attractions, there is
something for everyone. This ensures that our vacation is filled with fun and memorable
experiences.
For example, we can spend the day building sandcastles, taking leisurely walks along the
shore, or simply basking in the sun. The beach offers a picturesque setting for family
bonding and creating cherished memories.
I would not choose a lakeside hotel because although it may provide a serene
environment, it may not offer the same level of water-related activities and coastal charm
as a seaside resort. Similarly, a countryside cottage, while peaceful and tranquil, may not
offer the same refreshing coastal experience that we desire.
Finally, a countryside cottage is not a good choice either because it lacks the immediate
access to the beach and the vibrant atmosphere that a seaside resort provides. The
seaside offers a unique blend of relaxation and excitement that cannot be replicated in a
countryside setting.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose a seaside resort due to its refreshing
atmosphere, abundance of recreational activities, and the opportunity to create lasting
family memories by the beach. It offers the perfect combination of relaxation and
excitement for an enjoyable summer vacation.

44. There are some weak students in your class. You are thinking of finding a way to help
them: a teacher, an academic tutor, an excellent classmate.
My situation is that there are some weak students in my class, and I am thinking of
finding a way to help them. In my opinion, an academic tutor is the best option because
of the following reasons.
Firstly, an academic tutor is specifically trained to provide individualized assistance and
support to students who are struggling. They possess the knowledge and expertise to
identify the specific areas where the weak students need help and can tailor their
teaching methods accordingly.
Secondly, an academic tutor can dedicate focused time and attention to the weak
students. They can provide additional explanations, clarify doubts, and offer
personalized guidance, which may not be possible for a teacher with a larger class size.
For example, an academic tutor can conduct one-on-one sessions or small group
sessions to address the weak students' learning gaps and provide targeted exercises to
improve their understanding and skills.
I would not choose a teacher as the primary solution because they may not have
sufficient time and resources to provide individual attention to each weak student in a
classroom setting. The teacher's responsibilities are already divided among all students,
and catering to the specific needs of weak students may be challenging.
Finally, relying solely on an excellent classmate as a source of help may not be a good
choice either because although they may be knowledgeable and willing to assist, they
may not have the pedagogical skills or experience to effectively address the weak
students' learning difficulties.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would choose an academic tutor due to their
specialized training, ability to provide individualized attention, and expertise in
addressing learning gaps. They can offer personalized support and guidance, helping the
weak students improve their understanding and academic performance.

away from family and friends, cultural and language barriers, potential
financial challenges, and the need to adjust to a new educational system.
Additionally, students may experience feelings of isolation or difficulty in
adapting to a different lifestyle.
2. Going to college far away from home gives you a chance to get out of your
comfort zone. What do you think about this statement?

provides an opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones. It
encourages them to become more independent, take responsibility for their
own decisions, and learn to navigate new environments. Being away from
familiar surroundings pushes them to grow, adapt, and develop life skills
that are valuable for personal and professional success.
3. What do you think about the tendency of studying abroad in the next 20 years?
 It is likely that the tendency of studying abroad will continue to increase in
the next 20 years. Globalization and advancements in technology have
made international education more accessible and interconnected. The

career prospects will drive more young people to seek study opportunities
abroad. However, it is important to consider the evolving geopolitical
landscape, economic factors, and potential challenges in order to ensure the
sustainability and inclusivity of studying abroad programs.

one of the biggest advantages is that it promotes more independence. Self-study
encourages students to take ownership of their learning process, make their own study
plans, and explore topics of interest at their own pace. This independence fosters a sense
of responsibility and self-motivation, essential qualities for lifelong learning.
Besides, self-study skills contribute to better time management. Students who develop
effective self-study habits learn to prioritize tasks, set goals, and allocate their time
efficiently. They become more organized and disciplined in their studies, which not only
helps them stay on track but also enhances their overall productivity.
Furthermore, self-study skills are associated with better academic performance. When
students take the initiative to review and reinforce what they have learned independently,
they deepen their understanding of the subject matter. They can revisit complex topics,
engage in critical thinking, and apply knowledge in practical ways, leading to improved
academic outcomes.

encouraged. Schools often provide guidance and resources to help students
develop effective self-study habits. Teachers may incorporate activities that
promote independent learning and teach students strategies for self-directed
study.
2. Should self-study be a compulsory subject at school?
 While self-study is crucial for students' academic and personal
development, making it a compulsory subject may not be necessary.
Instead, it is more effective to integrate self-study skills into the curriculum
across different subjects. By embedding self-study strategies and
encouraging independent learning in various areas, students can develop
these skills naturally and apply them in different contexts.
3. How does the lack of self-study skill training affect student performance in
university?
 The lack of self-study skill training can negatively impact student
performance in university. Without proper guidance and practice in self-
study, students may struggle to manage their time effectively, comprehend
complex concepts independently, and engage in self-directed learning. This

achievement, and challenges in adapting to the independent learning
environment of university. Developing self-study skills during earlier
education stages can better prepare students for the demands of higher

commence with, one of the reasons for this is the knowledge achievement that occurs
during this period. University provides an opportunity for individuals to delve deeper into
their chosen field of study, expand their knowledge, and acquire specialized skills. The
learning experiences, academic challenges, and intellectual growth during this time make
it a memorable and transformative phase of life.
Besides, university fosters independence. It is a time when individuals transition from
being dependent on their families to becoming self-reliant and responsible for their own
decisions and actions. The freedom to make choices, manage their time, and navigate
through various aspects of university life, such as academics, social interactions, and
personal development, contributes to a sense of independence and self-discovery.
Furthermore, university offers extensive opportunities for social networking. It provides a
diverse and vibrant community of students from various backgrounds and interests.

 delay in delivery
 lack of experience in shopping
 the quality of good is not.
Some people believe that online shopping has had some disadvantages. To commence
with, one of the drawbacks is the potential delay in delivery. Unlike traditional in-store
shopping where you can immediately acquire your purchased items, online shopping
requires shipping and delivery, which can sometimes be subject to delays due to various
factors such as logistics issues or unforeseen circumstances.
Besides, another disadvantage is the lack of experience in shopping. Online shopping
eliminates the physical aspect of browsing through stores, trying on clothes, or testing
products firsthand. This can result in a less interactive and sensory shopping experience,
making it difficult to assess the texture, fit, or functionality of items before purchasing.
Furthermore, the quality of goods can sometimes be a concern in online shopping.
Without the ability to physically inspect the products, customers rely heavily on product
descriptions, images, and reviews. However, there is a risk of receiving items that do not
meet expectations in terms of quality, size, or appearance, leading to potential
disappointment or the need for returns or exchanges.
To sum up, while online shopping offers convenience and accessibility, there are
drawbacks such as delivery delays, lack of shopping experience, and potential quality
concerns. It is essential for consumers to weigh the benefits and disadvantages and make
informed decisions when engaging in online shopping.

shopping. It provides convenience, allowing people to shop anytime and
anywhere without the need to physically visit stores. Online shopping often
offers a wider variety of products, competitive prices, and the ability to
compare prices and features across different retailers. Additionally, it
eliminates the hassle of crowds, parking, and long queues commonly
associated with in-store shopping.
3. How can consumers ensure the quality of goods when shopping online?
 Consumers can take several steps to ensure the quality of goods when
shopping online. Firstly, it is important to thoroughly read product
descriptions, specifications, and customer reviews to gather information
about the item's quality. Checking seller ratings and feedback can also
provide insights into their reputation and reliability. Additionally, verifying
the return and refund policies of the online retailer and understanding the
process for returns or exchanges can provide reassurance in case the
received item does not meet expectations.

educational settings. It eliminates the need for commuting or relocating, reducing
transportation and accommodation expenses. Additionally, online courses often have
lower tuition fees or offer free educational resources, making education more accessible
to a wider range of learners.

breakfast in the morning can help regulate appetite throughout the day and prevent
overeating later on. It kickstarts the metabolism and provides the body with essential
nutrients, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
Besides, breakfast provides the energy needed to start the day. After fasting during sleep,
the body's glycogen stores are depleted, and consuming breakfast replenishes these
stores, providing fuel for physical and mental activities. A well-balanced breakfast that
includes carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats can enhance cognitive function, improve
concentration, and boost productivity.
Furthermore, breakfast plays a role in disease prevention. A nutritious breakfast can
contribute to overall good health by providing essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

choices later in the day, which can contribute to weight gain or obesity.
Moreover, skipping breakfast regularly may impact metabolic health,
including insulin sensitivity and blood sugar control.
3. What makes a healthy diet?
 A healthy diet consists of a variety of nutrient-dense foods that provide
essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. It includes a balance of
carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. A

music is often deeply rooted in a community's cultural heritage and serves as a means of
expressing its unique identity, traditions, and values. Preserving traditional music helps to
maintain cultural diversity and fosters a sense of pride and belonging among
communities.
Besides cultural value, traditional music also holds historical significance. It reflects the
historical development and evolution of a society, offering insights into its past traditions,
customs, and experiences. By preserving traditional music, we can better understand and
appreciate the historical context and cultural richness of a particular era or region.
Furthermore, traditional music has educational values. It serves as an important
educational tool for transmitting knowledge, stories, and moral lessons from one
generation to another. Traditional music often carries messages about social issues,
nature, love, or spiritual beliefs, providing a unique perspective on life and human
experiences. Preserving traditional music ensures that future generations have access to

be made to document and record traditional music through audio and video
recordings. This helps in preserving the performances, melodies, and lyrics
for future generations. Secondly, promoting and supporting traditional
music performances, festivals, and cultural events can raise awareness and
appreciation for traditional music. It also provides opportunities for
traditional musicians to showcase their talent and pass down their
knowledge to younger generations. Lastly, integrating traditional music into
educational curricula and programs can ensure its continued transmission
and engagement among young learners.
2. What is the current status of traditional music?

mainstream popular music. Traditional music may struggle to attract
younger audiences or find support in a fast-paced, modern society. Efforts
are being made by individuals, cultural organizations, and governments to
revitalize and sustain traditional music through various initiatives.

country?
 The attitude toward music can differ from generation to generation in my
country. Older generations may have a deeper appreciation for traditional
music, as they grew up with it as an integral part of their cultural
upbringing. They may value the historical and cultural significance of
traditional music and see it as an essential element of their identity. On the
other hand, younger generations may be more influenced by contemporary
music genres and trends. Their exposure to global music and technological
advancements may shape their preferences and inclinations towards modern
music styles. However, it is important to note that there are individuals
from all generations who appreciate and support traditional music, and
efforts are being made to bridge the generational gap and foster an
appreciation for diverse musical traditions.

10. Students are encouraged to go to museums to learn about the past.

 relax
 share knowledge with others
 …..sources of art

There are 3 main benefits of going to the museum.

Firstly, it’s a good way to relax after a long working day/ a long time studying. There are
many activities at the museum for people to enjoy: visiting art galleries, watching
documentary films and shopping for souvenirs. I think people will have a good time at
the museum.
 share knowledge with others
Secondly, visiting museums is a good way to gain and share knowledge with others. After
visiting museums, we can learn a lot from the past through pictures and stories. We can
tell our children about these stories.
 …..sources of art
Thirdly, museums provide us with good sources of art/ are good source of arts. We can
enjoy great photos and pictures taken by famous people. We will know more about the
arts and thus can enrich our knowledge in this regard.
1. What can be done to encourage people to go to the museum?
- open for free or offer great discount for entrance tickets
- offer more services to cater people of different age groups
- raise people’s awareness about the importance of arts in our lives
2. Do you think going to museums will be more popular in the future?
- No, museums will become less popular in the future because of the following reasons.
Firstly, young people nowadays are less interested in museums because they have many
forms of entertainment, such as the Internet, games,... Secondly, people can visit
museums online. Thirdly, the objects at the museums are very old…
3. Are there any other ways to encourage people to learn about the past?

11. Skill courses are necessary for students.

I totally agree that Skill courses are necessary for students for three main reasons.
Firstly, students can interact with each other while they attend these courses and thus
widen their social network. Students can make friends, get to know more people who
may help them find jobs in the future.
Finally, skill courses on problem solving can help students solve their problems in their
studies and in their life as well.
To sum up, it is necessary for students to learn skill courses for the 3 reasons I have
mentioned.
Interaction
 Social networking
 Problem solving skill.
1. What soft skill would you like to learn?
2. In your opinion, when should students take soft skill courses?
3. What do you think about some people learning soft skills as a trend, not their needs?

Some people believe that skill courses are necessary for students. To commence with, one
of the main reasons is that students can interact with each other while attending these
courses, which helps to widen their social network. By participating in skill courses,
students have the opportunity to meet and connect with peers who share similar interests
and aspirations. This interaction can lead to the formation of friendships and the
establishment of valuable connections that may benefit them in their future careers.
Besides social networking, skill courses also provide students with problem-solving
skills. These courses equip students with the tools and techniques to analyze and address
various challenges they may encounter in their studies and personal lives. Problem-
solving skills are essential for students to overcome obstacles, think critically, and make
informed decisions, fostering their overall growth and development.
To sum up, it is necessary for students to learn skill courses for the reasons mentioned
above: to enhance their interaction and social networking abilities, as well as to acquire
problem-solving skills.
Now, I will answer the follow-up questions:
1. What soft skill would you like to learn?
 Personally, I would like to learn effective communication skills. Effective
communication is a crucial skill that can positively impact various aspects
of life, including personal relationships, professional interactions, and
public speaking. Developing strong communication skills can enhance
understanding, collaboration, and influence, leading to better outcomes and
relationships in both personal and professional settings.
2. In your opinion, when should students take soft skill courses?
 Students can benefit from taking soft skill courses at various stages of their
education. Ideally, soft skill development should start early on in their
academic journey and continue throughout their schooling. Introducing soft
skill courses in primary and secondary education can lay a solid foundation
for students to develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork,
and problem-solving. Additionally, incorporating soft skill courses in higher
education or university can further refine and expand students' skill sets,
preparing them for the challenges and demands of the professional world.
3. What do you think about some people learning soft skills as a trend, not their
needs?
 While it is positive that people are recognizing the importance of soft skills
and showing an interest in learning them, it is essential to ensure that the
motivation behind acquiring these skills goes beyond just following a trend.
Soft skills are valuable because they enhance personal and professional
growth, improve relationships, and contribute to overall success. It is
crucial for individuals to identify the specific soft skills they need based on
their personal and career goals, rather than simply jumping on the
bandwagon. Genuine interest and a desire to develop and apply soft skills in
meaningful ways will lead to more effective and long-lasting results.

2. What climate change can you observe in the last 10 years?
3. What should the government do to deal with climate change?
Some people believe that spring is the best season in the North of Vietnam. To commence
with, one of the main reasons is the beautiful weather that accompanies this season.
Spring in the North of Vietnam is characterized by mild temperatures, blooming flowers,
and clear skies, creating a pleasant and rejuvenating atmosphere.
Besides the weather, traditional festivals are an integral part of spring in the North of
Vietnam. This season is marked by various cultural and religious celebrations, such as the
Lunar New Year (Tet), which brings communities together to engage in traditional
customs, enjoy special foods, and participate in vibrant festivities.
Additionally, spring offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people to enjoy. The
mild climate allows for excursions and exploration of the picturesque landscapes,
including visits to flower gardens, national parks, and historical sites. People can engage
in outdoor sports, picnics, and other recreational activities, taking advantage of the

To sum up, spring is considered the best season in the North of Vietnam due to its
beautiful weather, rich cultural traditions, and diverse range of outdoor activities.
Now, I will answer the follow-up questions:
1. Please describe the climate in spring in your country.
 In my country, spring is a transitional season characterized by moderate
temperatures and a mix of sunny and rainy days. The weather gradually
becomes warmer, and nature comes alive with the blossoming of flowers
and the greening of trees. It is a time of rejuvenation and a welcome change
from the cold winter or hot summer.
2. What climate change can you observe in the last 10 years?
 Over the past 10 years, there have been noticeable climate changes in my
country. One prominent change is the increasing frequency and intensity of
extreme weather events, such as storms, hurricanes, and heatwaves. There
has also been a shift in rainfall patterns, with some regions experiencing
longer dry seasons or heavier rainfall during certain months. These changes
have had significant impacts on agriculture, ecosystems, and the overall
well-being of communities.
3. What should the government do to deal with climate change?
 Dealing with climate change requires a comprehensive and coordinated
approach from the government. Some key actions that the government can
take include implementing policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,

partners and organizations can also help access funding and expertise for
climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. Additionally, investing in
research and innovation to develop climate-friendly technologies and
practices can contribute to long-term solutions.

13. Working from home has many advantages.

 save time
 increase productivity
 reduce working stress
1. What are the drawbacks of working from home?
2. Has the number of people worked from home increased in the last 10 years in
Vietnam? What are the reasons for this?
3. What should be the most favorable factor with the working environment in your
opinion?
Some people believe that working from home has many advantages. To commence with,
one of the main benefits is that it allows individuals to save time. By eliminating the need
for commuting to the office, people can use that time for other activities or for additional
work.
Besides time-saving, working from home can also increase productivity. Without the
distractions and interruptions that often occur in a traditional office setting, individuals
can focus more on their tasks and complete them efficiently. They have the flexibility to
create a personalized work environment that suits their preferences and enables them to
work in a way that maximizes their productivity.
Additionally, working from home can reduce working stress. The absence of a daily
commute, office politics, and rigid schedules can contribute to a more relaxed and
comfortable work atmosphere. This can result in improved mental well-being and a better
work-life balance.
To sum up, working from home offers several advantages, including time-saving,
increased productivity, and reduced working stress.
Now, I will answer the follow-up questions:
1. What are the drawbacks of working from home?
 While working from home has its benefits, it also has some drawbacks. One
common challenge is the blurring of boundaries between work and personal
life, as individuals may find it difficult to separate their professional
responsibilities from their personal activities. Additionally, working from
home can lead to social isolation and reduced face-to-face interaction with
colleagues, which may impact teamwork and collaborative projects. There
may also be technical limitations or connectivity issues that can disrupt
workflow or communication.
2. Has the number of people working from home increased in the last 10 years in
Vietnam? What are the reasons for this?
 Yes, the number of people working from home has increased in the last 10
years in Vietnam. This trend can be attributed to several factors. Firstly,
advancements in technology and the availability of high-speed internet have
made remote work more feasible and accessible. Additionally, the COVID-
19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of remote work practices as
organizations implemented measures to ensure business continuity and
minimize the spread of the virus. This experience has demonstrated the
viability and benefits of working from home, leading to an increased
acceptance and adoption of remote work arrangements.
3. What should be the most favorable factor with the working environment in your
opinion?
 In my opinion, the most favorable factor in a working environment is a
balance between flexibility and support. Employees should have the
flexibility to choose a work arrangement that suits their needs and
preferences, whether it's working from home, working in a shared office
space, or a combination of both. At the same time, employers should
provide the necessary support and resources to ensure that employees have
the tools, technologies, and infrastructure required to perform their tasks
effectively. This includes fostering open communication, providing
opportunities for skill development and growth, and promoting a positive
work culture that prioritizes employee well-being and work-life balance.

14. Higher education should be free for everyone.

 Equal chance of everyone
 A safer world
 Solutions to unemployment.
-I totally agree that Higher education should be free for everyone.
Firstly, free education creates equal chances for people to go to university and have
university degrees so that they can have good jobs in the future.
Especially, students who come from poor families can go to university and their parents
do not have to worry about the fees. If higher education charges a lot of money, these
students may lose the opportunity to earn a degree, get a job to support themselves and
their families.
-Secondly, free higher education helps to create a safer world because the more people
are well educated, the less crime they are likely to commit.
-Finally, free higher education may provide better solutions to unemployment. Nowadays,
many jobs require university degrees and more students who finish universities can find
jobs suitable to their majors. I believe if higher education is offered for free, the
unemployment rate will go down.

1. Do you think it is reasonable to apply free in Vietnam?

2. “University is the only way to success”. Do you agree?
3. Should lower education be free for everyone as well?
Some people believe that higher education should be free for everyone. To commence
with, one of the main advantages is that it provides equal opportunities for everyone. By
removing financial barriers, individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds can access
higher education and pursue their academic aspirations. This promotes social equality and
empowers individuals to reach their full potential.
Additionally, free higher education contributes to creating a safer world. Education plays
a crucial role in fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and empathy. By
providing access to education for all, societies can cultivate a more informed and
educated population, reducing the likelihood of engaging in criminal activities and
promoting social cohesion.
Furthermore, free higher education can offer solutions to unemployment. In today's
competitive job market, having a university degree has become increasingly important.
By making higher education more accessible and affordable, more individuals can
acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to secure employment opportunities that align
with their interests and qualifications, reducing the unemployment rate.
To sum up, offering free higher education can provide equal opportunities, contribute to a
safer society, and offer solutions to unemployment.
Now, I will answer the follow-up questions:
1. Do you think it is reasonable to apply free higher education in Vietnam?
 The feasibility and reasonableness of implementing free higher education in
Vietnam depend on various factors, including the country's economic
capacity, resources, and priorities. It requires careful consideration and
planning to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of such a policy.
While offering free higher education can bring significant benefits, it is
essential to assess the potential impact on the quality of education, funding
sources, and the overall education system.
2. "University is the only way to success." Do you agree?
 While higher education can provide individuals with valuable knowledge,
skills, and opportunities, success can be achieved through various paths.
University education is one avenue to acquire specialized knowledge and
credentials that are often required in certain professions. However, success
can also be attained through vocational training, entrepreneurship,
apprenticeships, and other forms of lifelong learning. It is crucial to
recognize and value diverse pathways to success and ensure that individuals
have access to the resources and support they need to pursue their chosen
paths.
3. Should lower education be free for everyone as well?
 The importance of free education applies not only to higher education but
also to lower education. Access to quality education at all levels is essential
for individual development, social mobility, and the overall progress of
society. Providing free education for everyone, including lower education,
can contribute to reducing educational inequalities, promoting equal
opportunities, and ensuring a solid foundation for lifelong learning. It is
crucial to prioritize investments in education and develop comprehensive
policies that address the needs of learners at all stages of their educational
journey.
