What is the importance of using PPEs properly while doing the task in the food

and beverage service? (face mask, face shield, and gloves)

 Using PPEs properly while doing the task in the food and beverage

service is to help protecting healthcare and for the safety of workers and

guests. Using properly face mask, face shield, and gloves is avoiding

contaminate a bacteria or microbes. Using face mask to reduce the risk of

COVID 19, and the face shield can be used as a secondary protective

barrier and will provide a greater degree of protection from COVID 19. The

gloves should be worm by the employees when they are removing

garbage bags or handling and disposing of trash, handling used or dirty

food service items, or cleaning and disinfecting Surface. PPEs the best

protects workers specific to their workplace.

2. Why is grooming and personal hygiene important as food & beverage personnel?

 It is an extremely important responsibility of every F&B services to serve

their guest hygienic food and beverage. the grooming and hygiene

personnel one of guest liked in F&B services business because it is

presentable and comfortable to eat food. F&B services have direct access

to guests’ health through food and beverage. the working staff handles

every food and drink item closely that the guest is going to eat. Hence, if

these services do not follow proper practices of hygiene and sanitation,


the guests might get foodborne diseases such as food poisoning, diarrhea

and more.

3. Give 3 examples of new normal guidelines in restaurant and describe each

- costumer not wearing face mask will not allow to enter the

restaurant.

2. Temperature check

- the body temperature of the guest will be checked using a thermal

scanner upon entry at restaurant.

- customers must log their name and contact details for contact

tracing purposes.

4. What do you think are the advantages of implementing the new protocols in the

new normal in the hotel industry?

 Restaurant look different these days, although it’s new normal to wear a

mask and face shield,some costumer behavior is hard to changed. I think the

advantages of implementing the new protocols, less people and not

crowded, and providing more safety and comfortable spaces for a meal or
drink to the guests. The new protocols It also helps people’s health and

protection against COVID 19.
