Teacher SIR DAN GUTIERREZ Semester FIRST Academic Year 2024
Course Description
This course is focused on students’ knowledge about basic anatomy (structure) and
physiology (function) of human body systems, their correlations, processes, and
applications. The students will also learn the foundations of chemistry, elements and
compounds, solutions, and mixtures. They will also understand the principles of force and
motion, distance and displacement, friction, and resultant force.
Throughout the course, the lessons are designed to be taught by using different
teaching processes and techniques such as reporting to help students explain technological
terms, discussion for a deep understanding of the topic, group activities to improve self-
confidence and creativity, brainstorming to boost their reasoning, role-plays, and self-
reflection for students to evaluate themselves.
Therefore, the learners will have a solid background dealing with biological science,
chemistry, and physics. By achieving basic knowledge, students will be more confident in
exploring technicalities to learn more.
Indicators/Learning Outcomes
1. To understand the process of the human body system, from cells to tissues, tissues
to organs, organs to system, and systems to organization.
2. To know the structures and functions of organs comprising each system, their
relations, and processes in unison.
3. To explain certain processes occurring in the body, like the blood flow, respiration
and gas exchange, digestion, excretion and secretion, and the body’s response to
maintain homeostasis.
4. To learn the basic chemistry behind solution, mixture, compound, and solution
concentration.
5. To examine the factors affecting solubility condition, and solution in percentage and
to perform experiments related to the topic.
6. To analyze and apply the basic principles of science related to force and motion that
would give a practical understanding of distance and displacement, resultant and
friction force, pressure, speed and velocity, and momentum.
Evaluations and Assessments
The assessment and evaluation ratio is 70:30, with 70% of the score based on continuous
assessment throughout the semester and 30% based on the final exam score. The total score
for continuous assessment throughout the semester is 100 points.
