Dear Mathematics,
MATH & ME
It feels like fate has woven us together, no matter how much I try to escape. Every time I
wanted to walk away, you somehow pulled me back in. Back in 10th grade, I tried to take it
easy with basic math, but everyone said I had a knack for it and pushed me towards the
harder stuff. Even when I dreamed of studying economics, I had to tackle math first, whether I
liked it or not. At first, I wasn't so sure about you. But as time went on, I found myself falling
for your complexities. Exploring your theories and formulas became a joy, and I couldn't get
enough.
When I got into LSR for [Link]. Honors Mathematics, I was over the moon. Sure, there were
tough times, but each challenge only made me appreciate you more. Looking back, I realize
fate has intervened, guiding us together. No matter what happens, I'll always choose you. I
remember the countless nights spent grappling with equations and the thrill of finally solving
them. Each triumph strengthened our bond, solidifying my commitment to you. And as I
navigated through the uncharted territories of advanced mathematics, I discovered a profound sense of fulfillment that I had never
experienced before. Now, as I stand on the threshold of the future, I know that you will always be my guiding light. Whether I pursue further
studies or embark on a career path, you will remain my constant companion, shaping my thoughts and influencing my [Link] a world
filled with uncertainty, you are my anchor, my sanctuary of logic and reason. With you by my side, I am confident that I can conquer any
challenge that comes my way.
So here's to us, mathematics. May our journey together be filled with infinite possibilities and endless discoveries.

Inspirations Unveiled:
Echoes of Art
Come with us, as our teachers reveal, which movie/book impacted
them most in their life.
Once my daughter suggested to me to watch the movie “COCO”, an American animated film, produced by Darla K.
Anderson and directed by Lee Unkrich. I would not say that this movie impacted my life but surely it forced me to
rethink and be respectful to our Indian system’s beliefs and practices which we perform after the death of our nearest
or dearest ones. This movie reflects that we should always be thankful to and should not forget our ancestors.
Occasionally, we should talk about them in the family and if possible, do some social activities to remember them so
that they would remain alive amongst us even after their death and shower their blessings onto us.
I read a very impactful and descriptive book, The Diary of a Young Girl' by Anne Frank which instilled in me a deeper
appreciation for finding positivity in challenging times and adopting a resilient mindset of "This too shall pass", and
"Whatever happens, happens for the best" After reading the thorough account of Anne's experience through the time of
Hitler's reign, I as an individual began appreciating the trivial details of life and my outlook towards challenges changed.
This book isn't just an account of childish whines, but rather it is a wonderful literary piece showing the beauty and
strength of the human mind.
Infact, I agree with Anne's perspective - Paper does have more patience than people 😊
-Dr. Bhavneet Kaur
How I wish I get to relive those moments which I spent watching Malgudi days- the series and especially “Swami”.
A character whom I found perfectly spreading my sentiments.
Someone, who is naughty yet humble, audacious yet sensitive; sinny yet innocent.
If I may calculate it takes no time to think of him till now, that's how strong his memory is. He still lives and will live
forever for me.
A story book by the Russian author, Leo Tolstoy has inspired and impacted me a lot in my life. The two stories, "God sees
the truth but waits" and "What men live by", I think everyone should read them. The moral of both the story I have myself
observed very closely in my life. The first story in itself has very deep meaning from its title only, whereas in the story,
"What Men Live By” the way the author brings the three truths that an angel punished by God and sent to earth, must
learn: what dwells in man, what is not given to man, and what men live by, is really very marvelous.
Although I am not a movie enthusiast, there are a few movies that have touched my soul. The one that has left the
biggest impression on me recently is '12th Fail' by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
What makes 12th Fail truly remarkable is it serves as an inspiring guide for people who have been facing failure while
achieving their goals. It's a highly impactful movie as it clearly teaches us that where there is a will, there is a way. One
can achieve anything in life by inculcating qualities such as perseverance, discipline, dedication, determination and
optimism. '12th Fail' always motivates me during hardships and makes me believe that in the end 'sab accha hoga'.
Dear all, I highly recommend you to watch this insightful movie. It will definitely teach you many life lessons. Whichever
field you want to pursue, try your best but don't get disheartened when you don't get the desired results. So work hard
and jo bhi kerna hai, dil se kerna hai.

"Taare Zameen Par" is the movie which I like the most. The bonding and interaction shown in this movie between a
teacher and student is very nice. The bonding has been executed perfectly. This movie is good for teaching learning
and after seeing this movie, a teacher can improve his/her quality of getting the students' mental and intellectual level.
In this movie, it has been shown that, if a teacher follows the interactive way of teaching then education can be made
better for students. This would help the students learn at a better level.
I would like to tell you that Harry potter movies have impacted me the most. In Harry Potter movies, a wizard's wand
is not only a tool but also a companion that helps them in channeling and mastering their magical abilities. It made
me think that, just as a wizard's wand is an integral part of their magical journey, a good
friend/book/mentor/teacher/guide can be an indispensable companion for a person on the path of learning,
enlightenment, and personal development.
I have read a lot of books but "The Secret" book written by Rhonda Byrne has impacted me the most in my life,
This book is based on the law of attraction, suggesting that positive thinking can create life changing
outcomes, it encourages me to visualize my desires and believe in manifestation, it tells that whatever you will
think in your mind with high frequency universe will respond accordingly.
I like differential geometry because it is quite challenging, especially for beginners like me and it involves advanced
mathematical concepts, including calculus on manifolds, tensors, abstract algebraic structures. Also, differential
geometry is all about constructing things which are independent of the representation and it provides a deep and
rigorous understanding of geometric concepts, which can be applied to various areas of mathematics, physics, and
engineering.

REFLECTIONS
The Graduating Batch of LSR 2024 share their words of wisdom and their experience at LSR in one word
TRANSFORMATIVE!!
Coming from a place where you don't have people to guide you, I think I did a great job adapting to this
whole new world. Looking back I realise that LSR made me do things younger me could never even think of,
be it bunking class, me dancing in department events, me studying just days before exam or me wearing
sarees on random days with such [Link] I met in college are undoubtedly the best part of my
journey. I don't have any regrets other than not talking much with my seniors. My seniors are such
phenomenal people but I came to realise that later. That’s the reason I talked to my juniors so they don't
repeat my mistake. Maybe I am not the best person to ask about internships or societies but I am always
good with listening to rants and problems and I do hope I helped with those. I don't know how I am but I think
if my classmates or my juniors remember me, they remember me as an easily approachable and fun person.

A Song to describe your LSR Journey: Kabhi Kabhi Aditi
YADGAAR
I've never boasted about being an Elsa because I initially didn't believe in the magic of LSR, as they say, until
last semester. I came here after failing the IIT JEE exam, viewing it as a compromise. Initially, I simply accepted
this college and tried to go with the flow. However, looking back now, I realize how much I've gained in the
process. Over the past two and a half years of my college life, I've become a very different and much more
mature person. The learning experiences I've had here are invaluable and difficult to find elsewhere. While I
haven't secured anything concrete for my future yet, I feel prepared to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
A Song to describe your LSR Journey: Hanste Hanste kat jayen raste Aditi Khandelwal
ECCENTRIC
While writing this note and keeping the cap tight of thoughts about what I could have done better and where I
could have improved more, I would love to say that this place has proved the best ever to me. Be it the
peaceful campus, friendly little animals, lovely people, sometimes a bit intimidating but supportive and friendly
peers, the coolest staff having unique personalities whom we just can't forget, everything came out the best.
In college, by having a foot in extra-curricular activities, I have explored a version of myself I was not very
familiar with. And I will always feel grateful to cherish the memories of NSO and NSS. Daily 7:30 a.m. practices
have not made me a football champ, but the sportsman spirit has taught me a lot of life lessons. But yes,
college life has not been a positive graph only, the sharp dips are there, but reminisce about the goods of life
and learn from failures—the only mantra to go ahead in life and the only positive thing you can have.

A Song to describe your LSR Journey: Pal Behta Jaaye
MEMORABLE
From eagerly waiting to get admission in my dream college to bidding it adieu with heavy heart, I came to LSR
as a novice. I entered this place as an introvert being quite skeptical about the environment of the new place. I
cried like a child when my parents left me in this new city but sometimes we get love and care from the most
unexpected people. I got love from LSR, from my professors and my classmates. LSR introduced me to the
people who were happier than me on my success and always stood beside me through thick and thin, cheering
me up and motivating me to do better. I would like to thank all my professors and my classmates for making this
three-year journey worth it. I don’t know where I would have been without you all. LSR has given me the lifetime
memories which I will always keep in my heart. My dear juniors, I just want to say, use the innumerable
opportunities so that you don’t regret later. Always keep in mind the aspirations and sacrifices of your parents.
Put in all your efforts but never get disheartened if you don’t get the desired results. Contribute to the
department to the best of your abilities and I am pretty optimistic that you all will definitely take our
