RECOUNT TEXT

DEFINITION
Recount text is a text which retells events, or experiences in the past.

PURPOSE
The purpose of recount text :
1. To retell the writer’s past experience.
2. To give information to the readers about an accident.
3. to list and describe the past experience by retelling events in the order in
which they happened (chronological order)

GENERIC STRUCTURE
There are 3 generic structure of recount text; Orientation, Series of Events,
and Reorientation.
1. Orientation : Bagian ini merupakan bagian pembuka teks atau
pendahuluan yang berisi latar belakang dari suatu kejadian, seperti siapa
yang terlibat, atau kapan dan di mana kejadian tersebut terjadi.
2. Series of events : Bagian ini merupakan bagian isi teks yang berisi
serangkaian kejadian berurutan yang dialami penulis.
3. Reorientation : Bagian ini merupakan penutup teks yang berisi
kesimpulan, pesan, kesan, atau perasaan penulis atas kejadian yang
dialami.

LANGUAGE FEATURES
1. Using simple past tense (Verb 2)
