Whereas, the Sanguniang Barangay of Brgy. Kagawasan, Dimataling, ZDS,

Whereas; “An ordinance to put up a pedestrian lane and signage at Laureano
Salusod National High School and San Miguel Elementary School for the safety and
protection of the student and the pedestrian at Brgy. Kagawasan, Dimataling,
Zamboanga Del Sur”
Article 1
TITLE OF ORDINANCE
Section 1: TITLE OF ORDINANCE: This regulation shall be known as “Ordinance for
the Establishment of Pedestrian Lanes and Signage in School Zones”
Section 2: Definition of Terms. As used in this ordinance the following shall mean;
a. School Zone: This refers to the area within a 500-meter radius surrounding San
Miguel Elementary School and Laureano Salusod National High School.
b. Pedestrian: Any person traveling on foot within the school zone.
Section 3: Prohibited Acts
a. No driver shall allow their vehicle to stop on the pedestrian lanes.
b. No person shall jaywalk or cross the street outside the designated pedestrian
lanes within the school zone.
c. The use of mobile phones or any distracting device while crossing the road within
the school zone is prohibited.
d. The speed limit of any vehicle shall be 30 km/h.
Section 4: Fines and Penalties
a. Violations of any provisions stated in Section 3 shall be subject to the following
fines:
i. First Offense: A warning will be issued.
ii. Second Offense: An administrative fine of ₱500 or community service for 10
hours.
iii. Third and Subsequent Offenses: An administrative fine of ₱1,000 or community
service for 15 hours, and/or suspension of the driver's license.
Section 5: Enforcement
a. The Barangay Tanod of Brgy. Kagawasan, Dimataling, Zamboanga Del Sur, and
the Philippine National Police in the Municipality of Dimataling shall be responsible
for the enforcement of this ordinance.
b. Appropriate Road signs shall be installed, and regular road safety seminars will be
conducted in schools.
Section 6: Revisions to Existing Regulations
All provisions of this barangay ordinance, orders, or regulations inconsistent with
this document are hereby amended, modified, or repealed accordingly.
Section 7: Separability of Provisions
If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or
circumstance is declared unconstitutional, the remaining provisions for other
persons or circumstances shall not be affected by such declaration.
Section 8: Effectivity
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval by the Barangay
Council.
