Section 98. Final disposition of dockets.
– When a justice of the peace shall die or resign or shall be
removed from offi ce or shall remove from the jurisdiction to which he was appointed, or when his offi
ce shall in any way become vacant, such justice of the peace, or his legal representative in case of his
death, shall, within ten days thereafter, deliver his docket, process, papers, books, and all records
relating to his offi ce to the justice appointed to fi ll the vacancy or to the auxiliary justice of the same
locality. Where the documents and records aforesaid are delivered into the custody of the auxiliary
justice of the peace, it shall be his duty, during the time he shall perform the duties of the offi ce, safely
to keep the same and to certify copies thereof whenever lawfully demanded; and upon the appointment
and qualifi cation of a justice of the peace to fi ll the vacancy, the said auxiliary justice shall deliver all the
documents and records pertaining to the offi ce in question to the new justice of the peace. When any
violation of this section comes to the knowledge of the District Judge having supervision over the offi ce
in question, it shall be his duty to issue a summary order for the delivery of the documents and records
aforesaid, under penalty of contempt. CHAPTER VI Transitory and Final Provisions Section 99. Repeal of
laws. – All laws and rules inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed. Section 100.
Appropriation. – There is hereby appropriated from the general funds, not otherwise appropriated, the
sum of three hundred fi ve thousand fi ve hundred thirteen pesos and thirty-three centavos to pay the
salaries of the eleven [D]istrict [J]udges that are created in this Act together with their corresponding
personnel and sundry expenses for the period from June fi rst, nineteen hundred forty-eight to June
thirtieth, nineteen hundred forty-nine. Section 101. Date in which to take eff ect. – This Act shall take eff
