TECHNICAL ASPECT
This part of the study explores the technical aspects of
establishing a tire recycling business that transforms discarded tires
into valuable products. It describes the production process, and the
service flow both online and on-site. This aims to ensure the technical
viability of a tire recycling business.
A. Business Description
The business is dedicated to transforming discarded tires into
unique, and high-quality products that enhance both functions and
aesthetics. The mission is to reduce waste and promote sustainability
by giving new life to materials that would end up in landfills.
The business is a combination of service and product offerings. It
offers tire collection and disposal service which provides a hassle-free
solution for tire service centers and auto shops looking to dispose of
used tires. In addition, the business accepts delivery requests and
customization of products from the customers for a fee. As to product
offerings, the customer can also purchase recycled products from the
store. This not only addresses waste management but also provides
valuable and functional products that benefit the community and the
environment.
B. Production Flow
The production flow describes the steps involved in transforming
discarded tires into functional products while ensuring creativity and

Figure 1
Figure 1 describes what happens in the production, from the
input of raw materials to the finished output. The process starts with
the collection of used tires from various sources like auto shops, and
tire service centers. The collected used tires are transported to the
facility for inspection. The inspection is to determine the suitability of
tires for upcycling and during the inspection, used tires are sorted
based on condition and sizes. After inspection, the Recycling Technician
proceeded to clean the tires by removing the dirt, debris, and any
residuals. The cleaned tires are trimmed and cut to prepare them for
transformation into new products. Next, the tires are shaped into
desired forms based on the planned design. The cut tires are
assembled and secured using adhesives and fasteners. Once shaped,
finishing touches such as sanding, painting, and other materials are
applied. The final product is then displayed in the store.
By following this systematic flow of production, any discrepancies
can be prevented and quality products will be produced.
C. Service Flow
The systematic flow of the business was implemented to provide
customer satisfaction and to ensure a good quality service to
customers. Customers are encouraged to visit the site to see the
products firsthand. Upon arrival at the establishment, the receptionist
welcomes and entertains the customer. The receptionist escorts the
customer in exploring the products displayed at the store

while providing details of the available products. The customer can
choose products directly from the displays. Once the customer already
selected a product, the customer proceeds to the checkout counter
and completes the purchase, and a payment is processed either
through cash or through other accepted payment methods such as
debit/credit cards, or e-payment like G-cash. Then, the customer
receives a printed receipt as an order confirmation with the purchase
details. The product is handed to the customer at the store and they
can take it home immediately. After the process, the customer will
depart from the store. On the other hand, they can also request a
delivery of the product, especially for bulky purchases and that is to be
honored by the logistics department. The receptionist assesses
customer needs and offers customization options during the visit by
providing a brochure for more product designs. The receptionist will
take note of the customer’s preference and relay the request to the
production.
As part of the marketing strategy, customers can also place an
order online. This is to lessen the customer’s efforts going to the store.
The flow of selling tire recycled products online starts with the
customer visiting the online store or website of the business. The
customer can browse for recycled products from discarded tires and
view detailed descriptions, images, and reviews before choosing items
and making the desired customization. Once done adding the product
to the cart, the customer proceeds to place the order and is routed to
the checkout page where they can provide their shipping details, select

payment methods. Once payment is secured, they will receive an order
confirmation via text message or email with the expected pickup or
delivery date. Next, the order will be prepared for shipping, and once
delivered successfully to the customer, they will receive a confirmation
for the delivery of the order, where they can also provide feedback for
the overall service.
D. Type of End Products
The tire recycling business focuses on creatively repurposing
scrap tires into a range of items, such as stylish outdoor and indoor
furniture, and vibrant planters to name a few. The products not only
contribute to a cleaner environment but also add a unique touch to
homes, gardens, and public spaces.

E. Desirability of Location
The location of the business is at Poblacion, Baclayon, which is
considered as the central market of the municipality. This presents a
perfect location for a tire recycling business given that it is adjacent to
tire service centers which the business can take advantage of,
establishing partnerships to ensure a steady supply of scrap tires.
In addition, the visibility of the area plays a role in facilitating
customer engagement. The area provides essential utilities such as
water and electricity which also ensures efficiency of work.
F. Availability of Electricity
Electricity will be used for the lighting requirements of the
business. In this case, the Bohol 1 Electric Cooperative (BOHECO 1)
would be the source of electricity in the area. The estimated monthly
consumption is approximately P3,000.
G. Availability of Water Supply
The main source of water supply for the business was the L2
water distribution system. It is one of the water distribution systems in
Baclayon that serves 448 people, carrying potable water from a
centralized plant or well to satisfy consumers' residential, commercial,
industrial, and firefighting requirements. The estimated monthly
consumption is P1,500.
H. Waste Management
The establishment will provide trash bins with trash bags on the
inside and use clear labeling and signage to guide employees on
proper waste segregation. In addition, separating different materials at
the operation can create a culture of responsibility among employees.
I. Availability of Telecommunication
Given that the business offers online ordering, a reliable
connection minimizes wait times for phone inquiries. Therefore, the
business plans to invest in subscriptions with telecom service provider
to enhance its operations.
