in the “Safety equipment list”, Ref. ¡Error! No se encuentra el origen de la referencia..

4.5 Vendor Responsibilities

As a minimum, the vendor responsibilities are the following:

• Supply equipment as per the specification,
• Carefully examine the Enquiry documentation prior to bid and inform the Contractor of any error,
omission and discrepancy,
• Comply with any requirement of this specification or highlight deviation if any,
• Obtain and pay for all permits and licenses necessary for the performance of the work.

The equipment offered by vendor shall be of proprietary design and manufacture shall comply with the codes
and standards listed in § 2.1 of this specification.

All FM200 total flooding systems shall be complete, fully assembled, satisfactorily tested and accepted prior
to dispatch. All necessary structure to allow handling, shipping and installation of the assembly shall be
incorporated into the design.

5 SYSTEM DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

5.1 Scope of Supply

FM200 total flooding system is a package type ”B”, as per “Specification for Instrument in Packages”, Ref.
¡Error! No se encuentra el origen de la referencia.. Vendor shall supply:
• The skid, including cylinders, manifolds, junction boxes, instruments etc.,
• Discharge nozzles,
• Pipework between skid and nozzles,
• Audible and visual alarms,
• Local control and status panels.

5.2 System Description

The system is composed of skid mounted high pressure cylinders with quick release pilot valves manifold
together for simultaneous discharge and flanged at the edge of the skid to allow connection to the field
piping. The quantity of FM200 provided on the skid shall be sufficient for one discharge of the protected
room or the largest protected room in case of a centralised system.

Each FM200 total flooding extinguishing system shall only comprise a duty skid sized for 100% of the design
capacity, i.e. no stand-by skid is required.

Where several cylinders are supplied for each discharge, the release facilities shall include one main pilot
valve connected to the pilot valves of the associated cylinders by a pilot line. The main pilot valve shall be
provided with a solenoid to allow remote actuation and a mechanical manual releasing facility located on the
pilot valve itself. The FM200 main pilot valve design shall allow the solenoid valve to be tested without
releasing the extinguishing agent.
Each cylinder shall be connected to the manifold by a flexible hose and each cylinder connection shall be
provided with a non-return valve.

Each cylinder shall be equipped with a safety device to relieve excess pressure. A pressure gauge shall be
provided on each cylinder pilot valve. A pressure transmitter shall be provided downstream the manifold to
signal release status. The release shall be detected by the ‘high’ condition of the pressure transmitter which
drives, through the FGS, the various “released lamps” located at:
• The local control and status panels,
• The Operator Work Stations (OWS) displays in the Central Control Room (CCR).

The solenoid valve shall be normally de-energised, therefore, a line monitoring facility is to be used and the
line monitoring fault displayed on the OWS displays in the CCR.

To allow personnel to evacuate the local shelters at pads, clear audible and visual alarms shall be initiated
inside the protected space, prior to the release of FM200. The alarm shall be activated 30s before the agent
is released through an adjustable time delay. Pre-discharge warning shall consist of a red rotating beacons
and audible alarm over each entrance to the room (main and emergency if any) and inside the room. These
red rotating beacons and audible alarm actuated by the FGS shall operate until the room has been vented.
In addition, in case of manual actuation, a pneumatic siren actuated by the FM200 itself while it flows, shall
operate until end of discharge.

Regarding the rooms of the technical building at CPF and the local shelters at CPF and CT, the evacuation
signal is limited to the pneumatic siren, actuated by the FM200 itself while it flows, which shall operate until
end of discharge (manual activation only).

The design concentration of FM200 shall be 8 % as per NFPA 2001, Ref. [1]. Discharge time shall not
exceed 10 seconds to achieve 95% of this design concentration. The design concentration shall be
effectively achieved within this discharge time period and be maintained for 20 minutes to avoid resurgence
of fire. The design concentration and the agent quantity to achieve total flooding shall be calculated in
accordance with latest edition of NFPA 2001, taking into account among other factors, compensation for
agent losses through openings that cannot be closed.

Each skid and its support structure shall be fabricated out of steel. The skid and the piping shall include the
supports for all components of the system.

For lifting transportation and installation requirements, the skid shall be complete with all equipment fully
installed and piped including the cylinders fully charged. The skid layout shall provide maximum accessibility
to all valves and instruments. For ease of use and maintenance, all skids shall be arranged in a similar
manner.

Each skid and its component parts shall be able to withstand and operate in the temperature conditions
specified in the “Equipment Design Conditions”, Ref. ¡Error! No se encuentra el origen de la referencia..
All piping, nozzles, fittings, electrical instruments and components shall be earthed.

Vendor shall minimize contact between dissimilar metals. Any contact, which creates a galvanic potential,
shall be provided with a protection system that prevents any corrosion. Aluminium shall not be used for any
of the components.

A sunshade structure shall be provided, fabricated out of steel, for all skids located externally.

Instructions, in English only, on how to operate the skid shall be provided and fixed in easily visible locations
on the external front and within each skid. The operating instructions shall include a warning that describes
the dangerous nature of the extinguishing agent and identifies the protected area.
5.3 System Design Basis

FM200 systems shall be designed in accordance with NFPA 2001, Ref. [1].
5.3.1 Technical Building at CPF
The total flooding system in the Technical building shall be a centralised system equipped with distribution
valves dedicated to the protection of each room.

Fire detection in any of the protected spaces shall initiate an alarm in the CCR. Then, a manual release shall
activate enough bottles to protect that space only. The system shall be designed to protect any room in the
building. Therefore, the total quantity of agent stored shall be based on the requirements of the largest room.
A manifold and valve arrangement on the centralised system shall ensure that an appropriate number of
FM200 bottles are activated for each specific volume / protected space.

The following table gives the volumes of the technical rooms to be protected by FM200; however it is vendor
responsibility to ensure that final room sizing and FM200 design concentrations are compatible:

Table 1: Volume of technical rooms in the Technical Building to be protected by FM200

The capacity of the cylinder banks will be ruled by the size of the largest room, i.e. HOLD m3.

The system shall be of total flooding type and sized for the risk (electrical and electronic hazards) based on
net volume with a minimum concentration.

A typical distribution system for each protected area shall be provided (refer to schematic drawing in
Appendix 1). Vendor shall define the quantities and size of distribution pipes and nozzles to suit each room
arrangement.

The vendor shall carry out all the necessary flow calculations to determine pipe, nozzles and pipework
isometrics. The computer software used for the calculations shall be approved by a certifying body
recognized by the Company.

The Vendor shall provide the design of the piping system layout.

The following table gives the volumes of shelters to be protected by FM200; however it is vendor
responsibility to ensure that final room sizing and FM200 design concentrations are compatible
