NB: This describes the true nature of the posterior inguinal wall and first time a new
name has been attributed to it viz. “Posterior Groin Plait” .The hernial defects has been
revisited and a new nomenclature has been given viz. Pubomyoaponeurotic Foramen.

The difference in the anatomical planes of TAPP and TEP hernial techniques in
Laparoscopic repairs has been clearly established and elucidated. These two techniques
lie completely in two different planes; not just intra or extra-peritoneal.

Some Academic Achievements
1. An original article on the current innovative theme on the surgical anatomy of the groin
viz. “Pubomyoaponeurotic Foramen and Posterior Groin Plait for groin hernia”.
This is ‘The World Journal of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery’ published
simultaneously from Germany and USA.
This describes the true nature of the posterior inguinal wall and first time a new name has
been attributed to it viz. “Posterior Groin Plait”. The hernial defects have been
revisited and a new nomenclature has been given viz. Pubomyoaponeurotic Foramen.
The difference in anatomical planes of TAPP and TEP hernial techniques in
Laparoscopic repairs was clarified and elucidated. Two techniques differ, not by
mere approach from two different routes but lie completely in two different
planes, i.e., not just pre-peritoneal or extra-peritoneal but pre-peritoneal in TAPP
and extra-fascia-transversalis in TEP.
