Good governance and social responsibility are concepts that relate to

how institutions and organizations operate, and the impact they have on
society:
 Good governance
A framework for managing public affairs and resources in a way that
is effective, accountable, and transparent. It involves democratic
practices, respect for human rights, and an independent
judiciary. Good governance can be measured by factors such as
participation, equity, and efficiency.
 Social responsibility
A duty to balance economic and social welfare with environmental
protection. It includes ethical business practices, environmental
sustainability, and philanthropic activities.
Good governance and social responsibility can be applied to many
different contexts, including:
 Public institutions
Good governance involves how public institutions manage public
resources and affairs, and ensure human rights are realized.
 Businesses
Social responsibility can include improving working conditions for
employees, and treating them fairly.
 Society
Good governance involves mediating different interests in society to
reach a consensus on what is best for the community. It also
involves ensuring that all members of society feel included and have
a stake in it
