Ghostwriter is a story about struggling to
move on after losing a loved one. The
theme centers around life, death, and
nostalgia.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The target demographic of Ghostwriter are people
who are 18 or over. Young adults or adults who have
experience with relationships and lost. Ghostwriter will
also attract an audience that loves romance drama.
After Seb, her novelist boyfriend, dies,
Maddie is stuck in the loop of the past.
She tries to move on by dating a guy
named Kei, but it always brings her
SYNOPSIS back to the same spot. One day, Seb
returns as a ghost and asks her to
write his unfinished novel. The writing
process brings them together once
again, revealing their yearnings for
each other.
MOODBOARD
Act One: After Seb dies, Maddie falls under limbo,
engulfed with sorrow. She leaves all of his stuff
where untouched and never moves them. Maddie is
a musician, specializing in electric guitar, but she
loses her passion for music after Seb died. She picks
ACT up a guitar, plays the same song over and over, then
puts it down. Trying to move on, Maddie goes on a
date with Kei, but she never takes it too seriously.
BREAKDOWN
Act Two: One night, Maddie hears a weird noise
coming from the amplifier while she plays guitar.
Seb returns as a ghost and asks Maddie to write his
unfinished novel. They share their moments during
the writing process, revealing their unforgettable
past and yearnings. Seb comes out every night to
help Maddie. Sometimes they just watch movies or
drink until the morning. Maddie’s happy again. They
write together until the very last chapter. However,
Seb disappears before telling the end of the story
and never comes back.
Act Three: Feeling lost and frustrated, Maddie waits
on him every night, but he never shows up again. She
finally finishes the novel on her own and sends it to
the publishing company. The book gets published
and becomes a hit. In the end, Maddie visits a
ACT graveyard and puts Seb’s novel in front of his grave.
She comes to the room and puts Seb’s stuff into the
box. She calls Kei and goes to get dinner with him.

FUNDRAISING
We will be using Indiegogo to fund a portion
of the film. The goal for the Indiegogo page is
$1,500. The link for the page will be posted on
the film’s social media pages and EP’s personal
social media pages.
The funds from the Indiegogo page will be
used for location rental, crew transportation,
catering, social media advertisements,
production design, wardrobe, and the film
festival run.
