Guideline for Internship Report
Introduction

Internship is an opportunity for a student to gain practice in a real world of work under the
guidance of a knowledge able and experienced supervisor. It is an integral part of the curriculum and
learning activity. Every student of faculty Business & Economics at HU is required to complete a
program of study that includes a compulsory internship.

The objective of the internship is to educate qualified, motivated and practice oriented students.
Internships should provide the students with valuable insights into the professional and industry oriented
side of their field of study. It should enable students to put into practice the skills, techniques, and
knowledge that are important for success in their future work places.

Guideline for the Final Report

All students are required to submit a detailed report of their experience as listed below. The
Report should comprise the followings.

Cover page
The cover page should carry all general information about the student, the company, the
supervisor, etc. This includes:

 The name of the University, Faculty and Department


 The student’s name and ID number
 Department advisor’s name
 Name of the hosting organization
 Name of immediate supervisor in the hosting organization
 Duration/period of the internship
 Report submission date

The preliminary pages take the following sequence, which involves some or all of the following
parts;

- Executive Summary
- Acknowledgement
- List of acronyms
- Table of contents

Table of contents

A table of contents must be included, showing chapter and subchapter titles as well as the
respective page numbers.

Introduction

1. General overview about the internship (includes objective of internship, scope of work expected,
outputs expected)
2. Background of the organization

- Description of the organization


- Mission of the organization
- Products/ services of the organization

Management, training and employee information

1. Major duty you were given to perform.


2. How did you become oriented with the responsibilities you were assigned?
3. How did your supervisor help you to succeed in the assignment you were given?
4. What qualities did you develop which allowed you to succeed in your daily duties?

Specific Job Information

1. Discuss the daily technical duties and responsibilities you had during the internship period.
2. Discuss other responsibilities you had during your internship.
3. What technical knowledge and skills from your course work were beneficial for your assignment?
4. What relevant research projects did you identify in your activities in the organization you stayed
with?

Reflection and Conclusion

1. How did this internship fit your career goals?


2. Did your career goals change as a result of this internship experience?
3. Discuss your feelings about the significance of this internship.
4. What challenges have you faced during the internship?
5. Discuss your strengths and areas for improvement as self-evaluation.

Recommendations

1. Please give us some comments with your personal opinion of the company and the
internship.
2. Discuss recommendations for improving the internship.
3. Should we consider the company for future student placement?

The introduction should not be more than 1.5 pages.

- For all pages except the cover page
- Font: Times New Roman - Font Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.5 Justified: Both left and right.
- Headings: Chapter Heading Print size 16 in bold typeface.
- Sub heading print size 14 in bold type face
The interns are required to work for 15- 30 working days.
