Introduction Some 2007 model year Tundra vehicles with a 5.7-liter engine may exhibit an oil leak
from the oil pan area. This concern may be caused by a leaking O-ring on the dipstick
tube. Use the following repair procedure to address the customer’s concern.
Applicable S 2007 model year Tundra (TMMI) vehicles equipped with a 5.7-liter engine and
Vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in
effect for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s
in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific complaint.

Repair 1. Inspect leak location.
Procedure
2. If the leak is found to be coming from
the dipstick tube, remove the engine
oil dipstick tube.
3. Remove the old O–ring from the Pull
dipstick tube.
O–Ring
4. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the
NEW O–ring.
5. Install the NEW O–ring to the
dipstick tube.
6. Install the dipstick tube into the pan
with the bolt.
Torque: 10 NSm (102 kgfScm, 7 ftSlbs )
Push
7. Start the engine and verify the O–Ring
condition is repaired.
