FS 2 LEARNING EPISODE 8: Preparing the Learning Environment: An
Overview

Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the
possible assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing
the classroom routines. Complete the matrix for the routines that you can
employ before, during and after classes in the classroom/remote learning to
ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down the problems which you
have encountered while implementing these routines.

As I given an opportunity to have assistantship I learned while helping


my teacher to do some of his works especially in the teaching-learning
process. I help him manage the class from the preliminaries specifically when
the students arrive at the school, participate in the flag ceremony, checking
the environment, monitoring class participation in the individual and group
activities, and many more. As a result, I am able to lessen his works.

Problems encountered while implementing the routines:


1. Some of the students were hard headed to follow the instructions.
2. Students are still arriving late in the class even they have the
agreement about it.
3. Students can be easily distracted by the simple things.

After I employing my classroom routine and establishing my


procedures in the classroom/remote learning, the students became more
engage in the lesson and you will notice their eagerness to learn while
they enjoy the various activities they do. Additionally, they became more
disciplined and excited on the thing will happened in their routines and
procedures especially during the class discussion.

 How did your students respond to your classroom routines and


procedures?
Students demonstrate positive behavior because they were
attentive, active, and involved especially you will notice initiative among
them in the routines and procedures.

 What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom


routines and procedures?
My Resource Teacher/Cooperating Teacher told me that it is very
great idea to employ different strategies such as collaborative activities
and ice breakers to catch the attention of the students in order for them to
follow the instructions as well as involve them in the routines and
procedures or the whole teaching-learning process. He also said to me
that it is nice since I demonstrate authority while managing the class.
Additionally he also taught me to integrate technology because this is
where the students learn easily.

 Was there a change in the classroom environment/teaching-learning


process after you have implemented your classroom routines and
procedures?
Of course Yes. The class became more organize and conducive to
learning since every students do their respective responsibilities
especially as I facilitate to the class to build house rules when we were
having teaching-learning process. In that the whole teaching-learning

process was successful not only that we execute properly all the things in
the plan but also they enjoy the whole learning process.
ANALYZE
1. What factors/conditions prompted you to establish those classroom
routines and procedures?
The learner’s level of engagement towards the teaching-learning
process was one of the factors/condition prompted me. Because when
I do observing before doing assistantship I observed that the students
were very passive and get easily distracted on the things resulting for
them not to focus on the lesson.

2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after


employing your classroom routines?

There is noticeable improvement in the class especially in terms


of classroom management, student’s behavior, and most importantly
they become more focused, attentive, and proactive in the teaching-
learning process.

3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.


Yes of course. The whole teaching learning process improve
since the students turned into proactive from passive as well as the
class became organize. As the different strategies employed in the
routines and procedures, the students become more motivated to
always do their best and responsible enough on the things they do as
well as they appreciate their classmate’s uniqueness resulting for the
harmonious class discussion.

What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?
Doing this learning episode, I realize that as a future educator, it is
crucial to establish routines and procedures in the classroom to foster a
productive learning environment especially creating classroom rules

crafted by the students. These routines help students develop essential


skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration and
most importantly they feel responsible and accountable enough for
their behavior. By incorporating creative strategies into the whole
teaching-learning process, teachers can encourage students to think
outside the box, explore their imagination, as well as help students to
become the best version of themselves.

The problem/challenges I encountered were minimal specifically
I only struggle to catch their attention but as the teaching - learning
process goes by, everything goes smoothly.

Effects of Collaborative and Gamification activities in the Academic


Performance of the Students in English

To further enrich my knowledge on establishing classroom routines and


procedures, whether in the classroom or in remote learning, these are some
of the online resources which will help me in these activities. (Include books,
websites, youtube videos and the like and share these to your peers.)

Take some snapshots of your routines in the classroom or in remote learning


and tell something about them. You may also write down the procedures you
