Delgado’s Planning Cheat Sheet
Groups A and B teach Preschool Children
Preschool children are ages 3-5
Groups C and D teach Toddlers
Toddlers are 18 months- 3 years
Remember the Objective is written as follows:
1. The children will enhance (what will the children learn from this activity) by
(what will the children do).
Or
The children will learn (what will the children learn from this activity) by
(what will the children do)
Examples:
*The children will enhance their number recognition
skills by completing the numbers pattern.
**The children will enhance their artistic skills by
creating a mask with a variety of craft materials.
** The children will learn about various leaves by
exploring the courtyard and finding 5 different leaves.
**The children will enhance their fine motor skills by
independently eating their lunch.
**The children will learn about musical sounds by
using the various musical instruments during music
time.
2. The Developmental Goals for this activity are:
*to further develop their social skills
*to further develop their cognitive skills
*to develop their knowledge in science
*to develop their color recognition skills
3. Setting: Where will you be during your activity??? Describe.
4. Materials & Equipment Needed: VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
You will set aside all the materials you need for your activity on the day you plan. It is
very important that you do this in order to be able to follow through with your lesson.
YOU WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO PREPARE FOR YOUR ACTIVITY ON THE DAY
YOU TEACH!!! If you need materials from the preschool or toddler room, you will walk
over there with your team leader and gather the materials. If you need materials that I
can provide for you, you will gather them and set them aside in the Teaching Materials
basket.
5. Preparation: Describe everything you are doing to prepare yourself for this
lesson. This is what you are doing the day you plan .
6. Procedure: (describe everything you will do the day you teach)

2. Introduce the activity
3. Distribute materials
4. Participate with children during activity
