Coming soon to

a theater near you....

Your assignment is to create a book trailer for a book you’ll read

(and enjoy) over the next week or two. A book trailer is like a
movie trailer, but it promotes a book rather than a movie. It is
important to get the viewer excited about and interested in
reading the book, but it is also important to leave some
suspense....so don't tell the ending!

Attached is a calendar that will detail when we will be reading,

writing journal summaries, and working on our project in the
computer lab. While the majority of the project will be worked on
at school, you may have to complete some activities at home.
Proper planning is a must!

Your movie trailer will be presented to other students to peak

their interest in your book for summer reading. This is an
individual project, not a group one. We will be using our summaries
to create a storyboard. Our storyboards will assist us in the
flow of our trailers. Additionally, I’ll be providing assistance. We
will be using the computer program, Windows Moviemaker to
create our trailers. This will allow us to pull in clip art, still images,
video, text, and audio. If you desire to work on the project from
home or want to take your finished product home, consider
bringing a flash drive or CD to store it on.
