Chevron has revised its engineering standards to incorporate a novel water-borne spray coating system developed by EonCoat, designed to protect against atmospheric corrosion and corrosion under insulation (CUI) in oil and gas environments. The inorganic coating chemically bonds to carbon steel, providing a protective layer that is both insoluble and resistant to corrosion, even under extreme conditions. Field tests have demonstrated its effectiveness in various environments, significantly reducing maintenance costs and turnaround times for operators.
