From my understanding, I've come to realize that there
are significant differences between the educational
environments of school and college. In school, we had a
strict environment with specific syllabi and questions
that we needed to study and write exams on. However, in
college, the approach to learning is more flexible and
there's a lot to learn outside the classroom.
The knowledge gained in college will likely be beneficial for
a lifetime. It has become clear that education is
an expensive investment, and it's crucial to utilize it
effectively. Additionally, I've learned the importance of
not overburdening oneself and the need to strike a
balance between academics and personal well-being.
I've also encountered the concept of "budgeting," which
seems to be an important skill to acquire for managing
educational resources efficiently. Furthermore, the unit
discusses the significance of daily preparation and
consistent studying in the college environment. I believe
that cultivating a habit of regular learning and
preparation is more advantageous than last-minute
cramming. Daily preparation is an essential quality for
effective learning. It is important to cultivate the habit
of thoroughly reviewing the concepts before attending
class. By doing so, we can gain an understanding of the
subject matter, enabling us to actively engage in class
discussions.
Reading before class also helps clarify our doubts during
class and strengthens our understanding when we review
the material after class. Even if we are not particularly
fond of the professor's lecture, attending class is
important as we might miss out on important information
not available in the books.
It's crucial to address all our doubts in the class, and if
necessary, schedule an appointment to get them clarified.
Furthermore, avoiding procrastination and taking diligent
notes during class are essential practices. Before each
class, it is beneficial to jot down any questions we have,
enabling us to seek clarification during the session.
Regularly reviewing our notes and concepts will further
solidify our understanding of the subject matter. The
environment in which we study plays a crucial role in our
learning process. . It's important to choose a setting
that minimizes distractions and promotes a peaceful and
comfortable atmosphere. Research has shown that
studying in such an environment enhances our ability to
retain information effectively.
In addition to the physical environment, the presence of
a supportive study partner can greatly aid in the learning
process. Collaborating with a study partner allows for the
exchange of knowledge and different perspectives, which
can deepen our understanding of the subject matter.
Furthermore, forming or joining study groups can provide
a platform for sharing insights and teaching others, which
is a proven method for reinforcing our own learning.
Consistent and regular learning is essential for deepening
our understanding of concepts. Instead of relying on
last-minute cramming, daily learning helps us to explore
and internalize the material, making it easier to recall
during exams. Reviewing notes and understanding question
patterns is also crucial for effective exam preparation.
Moreover, becoming a part of engineering organizations can
open up a world of opportunities. By joining such
organizations, we can gain access to valuable networking
opportunities, learning resources, and potential financial
aid in the form of student loans and scholarships.
Attending seminars and conferences organized by these
organizations can expose us to new ideas, innovations, and
industry trends, further enriching our academic and
professional journey.
It's important to visit organizations' websites to learn
more about a particular area of specialization and their
role in advising the government on technology-related
policies. Joining a local student chapter offers many
benefits, and it's crucial to have a graduation plan in
place. Advisers can help understand admission
requirements and course subjects. Involvement in
volunteer work is also important for personal
development. Lastly, it's important to engage in civic
duties and build relationships with classmates and seniors
for valuable insights

still can't believe that I 'm an
engineering student. Only 5% ofcollege graduate earn this
degree.
As an engineer, we'll be seeing theworld differently, learning
how thingsare made, work and can be improved, and also
design and build newthings. Transition from school tocollege
is tough. I have realized Ineed to take ownership of
mylearning. That means setting goals, creating a schedule
and seeking helpwhen needed. It's challenge but I
'mdetermined. These next 4 years willshape my future. I'm
excited to seewhere this journey takes me. I'm
3
grateful for the infrastructureavailable on this campus,
fromtutoring to career counseling. Andnow I have learnt
that engineering isa mindset, logical and innovation, and their
life is full of the quote“TRIAL AND ERROR“. After
reading“Budgeting Your Time “ I simplyunderstood how to
use time wisely.
We all have 24 hours in a day. Firstwe need to use time for
importantthings we need sleep to rest ourbody, work to earn
money, spendtime with family and friends. Weshould also spend
sometime forlearning new things. So let's use ourtime wisely
and so that our futuredepends on it. Success in
4
engineering starts with good studyhabits. I'll take good notes
in classand while reading my text book. I'llreview them
often to help meremember. I'll find a quiet place tostudy
with no distractions. Joining astudy group will also help.
Discussing concepts with myclassmates would also help
me.We'll prepare well for exams byreviewing our notes.
Notes will beour life saver during exams. Askingquestions
if we are unsure about thetopics. We should start
studyingfrom the very first day. Seeking helpwhen we need.
Good study habitswill help to succeed. I'll stayorganized and
manage my time
5
wisely. I'll stay motivated and reachmy goals, with hard
work anddedication. I'll succeed, staycommitted and focused.
By followingthese tips, I'll have a bright futureahead, I
hope. We should not giveup at any cost. We should
keepstudying and we would reach thegoal. Education is the key
tosuccess and freedom. Start early, study daily and we can do
great. Formaintaining the concentration takingbreak in
between would help.
Attending classes regularly, seekinghelp when needed, taking
goodnotes, selecting good place to studyand how to prepare
for exams orthe topics I understood after reading

it. By joining and Engineeringorganization will boost our
career. Ithelps to connect with experiencedprofessionals and
learn from them, which expand the knowledge. Onecan stay
updated with conference, journals, and short courses.
Theseorganization also advise governmentson policies
impacting my field setindustry standards for safety
andquality. Provides scholarships andloans to support
students. By joiningthe membership, I'll solve problemswith
colleagues guidance, makesome meaningful connections.
I'llalso develop leadership skillsthrough volunteer
opportunities, builda professional network. To make the
7
most of this opportunity, I amcommitted to attending local
studentmeetings on campus, choosing anorganization which I
am interested inand becoming an active member. I'lltake on
leadership roles. Byspending time and effort I can growas a
professional engineer. Joining aprofessional organization
will opendoors to new opportunities, help meachieve my goals
and shape myfuture in engineering. I'm excited totake this
steps and make the mostof the benefits of membership
tosucceed in my chosen field. So, thisis what I understood
after readingthe passage “Getting Involved withan
Engineering Organization“ from
8
the book. To graduate with anengineering degree, first we
need toget into University with good grades.
Next we'll specialized in a field likecivil, electrical ,
mechanical ormechatronics after 4 years. Ourprofessors
will help us to create aplan to complete our studies, ensuring
to stay on track. Regularlyreview our plans to meet
allrequirements. Our professors willguide us on necessary
classes . Stayinformed about program changesand keep
working hard, asengineering programs or competitive.
By following the steps and stayingfocused, we'll be well on our
way tograduating with an engineering
degree. I'll set academy and careergoals, breaking them into
smallertasks. I'll join clubs, participate ininternships and
research projects, which help to develop my skills. I'llseek
guidance from the seniors, andbuild good relationship
withprofessors, and it also helps to stayupdated on industry
trends. Byplanning and focusing, I'll graduateand become a

From this lesson ,I have learned how
to involve myself in “Preparing for an
Engineering Career “. I know that was
more difficulty while entering into
college , after completing school life . This
lesson say engineers are the Best , Power
and Intelligence group of students . It
say you see the things differently from
the others . That will help you to ask
more questions like how they are made ,
how they work, how to they design and how
to improve it from the scratch . The rest
of our life only depends what we done
for the next four years is more important
. So, Keep it Mind . Nobody not wants to
make you learn and take your
responsibility forwards to reach your
Goal .In school, learning must take place
inside the class. But in college that was
Opposite. Then only you . grow as a Good
Engineer otherwise you just be a degree
holder.
Budgeting your time : Every one has same
twenty four hours a day, but only few
members can perfectly done their daily
basics activities . This lesson give some
arithmetic solution to manage our time.
For a one week, there was one hundred
sixty eight hours available . Sixty eight
hours a week for studing, while other
hundred hours for sleeping, eating,
spending time with family and friends,
playing and moreover . In the sixty eight
hours , a engineer take sixteen hours a
week spend in the class . Then , the
remaining fifty two hours a week to study.
You need to manage your time correctly
then only you Succeed Your Life .
Depending on how much you need to study
in a week , you can reschedule it . For the
four years , you had much time use it
carefully and effectively for studying .
Budgeting your time is very very very
important . Spending money is also
important to know wherever it was
necessity . Don’t waste your money . That
like your education , don’t just pay tuition
and sit in class . Your education is an
expensive investment . That investment
must depends on your Experience .
Experience is only come from learning
and understanding the new things .
Start studing and preparing from
the first day of class . Before thelecture,
you just read the material . This will
make you understanding clearly of the
lecture materials during the lecture .
You also read the materials after the
lecture on the same day . Attend classes
regularly . Because , the professor explain
some additional discussion that was not
present in textbook . If you need help ,
Don’t Hesitate to ask . Asking professor to
clarify your thoughts or doubts instantly.
Daily takes notes during the lecture and
also while reading the textbook . using
notebook or pad is a good habit . If you
don’t understand some concept , write it
in notebook. Nextday ask the professors to
clarify it . You should study in a Good
Environmental place . You should not get
any distractions while you are studing .
Using library daily is very very important.
Concentration in study , don’t go to day
dream . Best way of learn was Teaching .
Before going to teach , you was strong in
Basic Concepts . First you study yourself
then, together with your classmates .
Share the ideas and concepts in your own
words to other groups this is the good way
to Learn .
Preparing for an examinations : Engage
yourself daily for studing . Don’t study
one day or night before the exam . The
Night time , before the exam you had is
only for recall your brain . Take good
Sleep before the exam , this make you to
think clearly in the exam . First you write
answer for easy or known questions then ,
you come to complicated questions . To
reduce the exam anxiety , daily workout
the problems . Listening technical guest
speakers , participating in many competitons
attend social events , seminars and
conferences are the good reasons to join
engineering organisation . If you boost your
skill in field of your interest . Learn lot
from websites . Do volunteer work this
help you to develop communication skills
and also do some social works . want to be
a good citizen, take it seriously to vote for
nation . Get interact with seniors and also
other department student , this will give
you more valuable information about
the engineering experience.
“Learning from experience and
Earning from experience is very Easy“
ASSIGNMENT 2 – PROBLEM SOLVING

INTRODUCTION

Managing the canteen rush is a common challenge in

colleges, impacting both students and staff. During peak
hours, long lines lead to service delays and overcrowding,
causing frustration for those seeking to dine. Addressing
this issue is essential for enhancing the dining experience
and creating a more comfortable environment for everyone
involved.
By addressing the canteen rush, colleges can ensure a
smoother, safer, and more pleasant environment that
benefits both students and staff.
During rush hours at the college canteen, the combination
of long lines and crowded seating creates an overwhelming
experience for patrons. The wait to order becomes
increasingly frustrating as staff struggle to keep up with
the demand, and students in a hurry contribute to elevated
noise levels and discomfort. By the time individuals receive
their food, there is often little time to eat, forcing them
to rush or stand, thereby turning what should be a pleasant
break into a challenging ordeal.
ANALYSIS
 Limited Time Windows: Most students and staff
have similar break times, such as lunch or snack
periods between classes, causing everyone to visit
the canteen at the same time.

 Lack of Alternative; Dining Options: If there are

no other nearby food outlets or cafes, the canteen
becomes the only option for students and
staff, creating a jam

 Insufficient billing Counters: If the canteen has

a limited billing counter it leads to long lines
and overcrowding.

 Unpredictable Demand: The canteen might not

anticipate the number of customers accurately,
resulting in staff being overwhelmed during peak
times. This lack of planning can contribute to
delays."

BRAINSTORMING
From the above survey, we have concluded creating an app
as the solution of the canteen rush

THE CHARACTERISTIC FEATURE OF THE APP

Based on the survey, the key features of the app should
be:

1. Pre-ordering and Pickup: Users can order meals in

advance and schedule pickup times.
2. Real-time Updates: The app shows live crowd levels
and estimated wait times.
3. Digital Payments: Users can pay through the app to
avoid cash or card transactions.
4. Menu Browsing: Users can view the menu, customize
orders, and see prices and nutrition info.
5. Order Notifications: The app alerts users when their
meal is ready for pickup.
These features focus on convenience, reducing wait times,
and improving the canteen experience.
HOW THE APP WORKS??
1. The user opens the app.
2. The user logs in or registers on the app.
3. The user browses the menu to view meal options.
4. The user selects a meal and customizes it if needed.
5. The user selects a preferred pickup time.
6. The user pays for the meal via digital payment
options (if needed).
7. The app confirms the order and gives an estimated
preparation time.
8. The canteen staff prepares the meal.
9. The app sends a notification to the user when the
meal is ready.
10. The user picks up the meal from the canteen
without waiting in line.
FLOWCHART OF WORKING OF APP
The other solutions to the problem
 Implement robotic or semi-automated food

preparation systems (e.g., for salad bars,

and sandwiches). Speeds up the food preparation
process and reduces dependency on manual labor,
helping serve more people master.
 Install vending machines that offer ready-to-eat
meals or snacks. These machines can serve users
outside of regular canteen hours and provide a quick
alternative to standing in line.
CONCLUSION
By implementing one of the above rush at the canteen can
be avoided or reduced.
Problem Statement
:
A problem statement related to whether a bus has gone or
not arrive yet at bus stand. Commuters often face
uncertainty regarding whether they have missed their bus or
if it has yet to arrive at their stop. This lack of real time
information leads to frustration, wasted time, and
inefficienc y in daily travel. There is a need for an alert
system that provides real time updates on the status of
public buses, informing passengers whether their bus has
already departed from a specific stop or is still on its way

Brainstorming Solution :

1.Develop an alert system that tracks the location of buses in real time.
2. Provide a display system with timely notifications to commuters indicating
whether their bus has already departed or is still approaching the bus stand.
3. Ensure the system is accessible via mobile devices and other platforms
for ease of use.

This system would help commu ters make better decisions on whether to wait
for the bus or seek alternative transportation options.
