1. Collect data by asking your family members, friends, relatives, or neighbors for their weight
and height (maintaining anonymity). Using the formula below, calculate the BMI for each
individual, and compare and contrast the results.
Using the SI BMI formula: M = Mass (weight) in kilograms
H = Height in meters
Conversions 39.36 inches = 1 meter 2.202 lbs = 1 Kilogram (kg)
BMI = M ÷ H2 [Mass (in kg) divided by the square of the height (m)]
