SEWING PROCEDURE

1. PREPARATION STAGE

Line Plan from Production Manager:

 The production manager is responsible for creating and providing the line
plan, which details the order of operations, daily targets, and production
timelines.
 The sewing department relies on this plan to structure the workflow and
determine how many operators and machines are needed for each specific
task.

Cut Bundles & Accessories:

 The cut bundles and related accessories (such as threads, labels, buttons,
zippers, etc.) are provided to the sewing department.
 The cut bundles are organized according to the daily production plan and
include the corresponding bundle cards that carry important information
such as style, size, colour, and quantity.
 The sewing operators are given their assigned bundles along with the
appropriate materials to start their work.

2. TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM IN SEWING

Overview of Traffic Light System:

 The Traffic Light system is a quality control mechanism used to monitor the
performance of the sewing lines. It’s a real-time feedback system where
the status of each line is indicated with a colour—green, yellow, or red—
similar to a traffic light.
 This system helps track defects during the sewing process and enables
immediate corrective actions.

Monitoring by Line QC:

 The line quality control (QC) team is responsible for monitoring the
production lines using this Traffic Light system.
 Every 2 hours, the Line QC checks 7 garments from each operation in the
sewing process to ensure quality standards are being met.
 The QC will track the number of defects observed and take appropriate
action based on the findings.
