Work from home, or remote working,
allows employees to perform their tasks
outside the traditional office
HOME (WFH)
environment. This can be done from
home, co-working spaces, or any
location with internet access. The
practice has grown due to technological
advancements and the need for work-
life balance.
Benefits include reduced commuting,
increased productivity, and higher job
satisfaction. Employers also gain access
to a broader talent pool and can reduce
operational costs. This arrangement is
increasingly popular and beneficial for
both employees and organizations.

WHICH COMPANY FIRST STARTED TO
ADAPT TO WFH?
IBM was one of the first companies to adapt to work from home,
starting in 1979 with a pilot program that allowed five employees to
work remotely:

Early 1980s: Branch offices and home workers were able to connect to
organizational mainframes using personal computers and terminal

STARTED?
