FINISHED SIZE
Highland cow is about 4.3 inches (11cm) high.
MATERIALS
1. Yarn - the examples are crocheted using Alize Bella (100% cotton;
197 yards (180 meters) for 1.76 oz (50 g)). Yarn weight Þne.
¥ 629 brown
¥ 737 cream
2. Crochet hook 1.75 mm (or in accordance with the yarn you use).
3. Polyester ÞberÞll stufÞng (or similar).
4. Black thread (Yarn Art IRIS or other thin thread) for eyes.
5. Stitch marker.
6. Darning needle.
7. Rattle insert (optional).
8. Wooden teether ring with an outer diameter is 2.1 inches (5.4 cm).

ch - chain (UK - chain)
sc - single crochet (UK - double crochet)
sl st - slip stitch (UK - slip stitch)
inc - 2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch (UK - increase in double crochet)
dec - 2 single crochet stitches together (UK - decrease in double crochet)

Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
R2: (1 inc) x 6 [12]
R3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [18]
R4: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [24]
R5: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [30]
R6: (4 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [36]
R7: (5 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [42]
R8: (13 sc, 1 inc) x 3 [45]
R9 - R15: Sc around [45]
R16: (13 sc, 1 dec) x 3 [42]

Stuff the head quite Þrmly, insert the bell and continue crocheting.

MUZZLE
Start with cream yarn.
Make a foundation chain with 7 ch. Work in an oval round.
Round 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook: 5 sc, 3 sc in next loop, 5 sc, 3 sc in
next loop [16]
R2: 5 sc, (1 inc) x 3, 5 sc, (1 inc) x 3 [22]
R3: 5 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3, 5 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3 [28]
R4 - R5: Sc around [28]
Change to brown yarn.
R6: Sc around [28]
Fo. Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.

HORNS
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
R2: 5 sc, 1 inc [7]
R3: 6 sc, 1 inc [8]
R4: 7 sc, 1 inc [9]
R5: 3 sc, 1 dec, 3 sc, 1 inc [9]
R6: 8 sc, 1 inc [10]
R7: (4 sc, 1 inc) x 2 [12]
R8: Sc around [12]
Fo. Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.
Make 2 pieces.
EARS
Round 1: 5 sc in a magic ring [5]
R2: (1 inc) x 5 [10]
R3 - R4: Sc around [10]

R8: (3 sc, 1 dec) x 3 [12]
Fo. Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.
Make 2 pieces.
Fold a ear in half and stitch bottom edge together to hold the shape of bull ears.

TEETHER RING
Make a foundation chain with 26 ch.
Round 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook: 25 sc [25]
R2 - R8: 1ch, turn work around, 25 sc [25]
Fo. Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.
HAIR
1. Make 13ch and start in the 2nd ch from hook. Make 12 sl st and continue crocheting.
2. Make 13ch and start in the 2nd ch from hook. Make 12 sl st and continue crocheting.

Make 7 same hairs. Now you have one row of the hair. Make 2 such rows.
FINISHING
Sew the head to the teether ring.
Sew the muzzle to the head after 9th row. Stuff the muzzle when you are almost done
with the sewing.

Sew the horns to the head.
Sew the ears to the head.
EYES (2 pieces)
Make magic ring and 6 sc in it. Sl st in the Þrst sc. (use
black thread Yarn Art IRIs or other and the crochet hook
1mm).
Make 2 eyes.
Sew the eyes to the head. You can use pins to make it easier to sew the eyes.
And embroider a nostrils on the muzzle.

Sew the hair to the head. Sew the 1st row of hair to the 4th row of the head.
Sew the 2nd row of hair to the 2nd row of the head.
