General Instructions:

1. All questions are compulsory.

2. The paper consists of four sections - A, B, C, and D.

3. Use of a calculator is not permitted.

4. Marks are indicated against each question.

Section A: (1 Mark Each)

1. Convert 0.08 to a fraction in its simplest form.

2. Write the predecessor of -10.

3. Simplify: -5 - (-8).

4. Multiply 3.25 x 2.

5. Arrange the fractions 7/12, 5/9, 8/15 in descending order.

6. Find (-9) + (-6).

Section B: (2 Marks Each)

7. A packet of milk contains 1.25 liters. How many liters of milk will 6 packets contain?

8. Subtract 4 1/3 from 5 2/3 and write the result in simplest form.

9. Find the product: 3/4 x 8/9.

10. A basket has 7.5 kg of oranges. After selling 2.8 kg, how many kilograms of oranges are left?

11. Represent -2, -5, and +3 on a number line.

12. Compare using >, <: -6 __ -4.

13. Solve: (-15) / 3 - (-4).

14. Convert 3.007 to a fraction.


Section C: (3 Marks Each)

15. The sum of two decimals is 8.25. If one number is 4.6, find the other.

16. Arrange the decimals 0.45, 0.5, 0.485 in ascending order.

17. Solve: (-8) + 12 - (-15).

18. Simplify: 5/8 - 3/10.

19. A rectangular field is 15.25 m long and 7.5 m wide. Find its area.

20. If a number is multiplied by -7, the result is 63. Find the number.

21. Rani has 5 3/4 meters of ribbon. She uses 2 5/6 meters for decorations. How much ribbon is left?

22. A water tank contains 72 liters of water. If 2/9 of the water is used, how much water is used?

Section D: High Order Thinking Skills (4 Marks Each)

23. Aman traveled 5.25 km on Monday, 7.5 km on Tuesday, and 3.75 km on Wednesday. On which

day did he travel the longest distance? By how much did the longest distance exceed the shortest

distance?

24. If 7/8 of a rope is 10.5 m long, find the total length of the rope.

25. Neha bought 8.5 kg of rice at Rs.45 per kg and 3.75 kg of sugar at Rs.50 per kg. How much

money did she spend in total?

26. Find the value of (-6) x [5 - (-3)] + 4.

27. A box contains 6.75 kg of flour. Ramesh divides the flour equally among 9 packets. Find the

weight of flour in each packet.

28. A book costs Rs.120.50. How many such books can be bought for Rs.1446? Will there be any

money left?
