Business Interview with Nicholas

Me: Good morning, Nicholas. Thank you for taking the time to
speak with me today. I understand you're facing some
challenges in your new role as a Mathematics teacher at Pride
Junior Academy. Can you tell me more about what's been going
on?

Nicholas: (sighs) Yeah, it's been a bit of a struggle. I'm excited to

be teaching, but I feel like I was thrown into the deep end
without any support. The training I received was inadequate, and
now I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Me: That must be really tough. What specifically is causing you

stress?

Nicholas: Well, for starters, I don't know my way around the

school. I'm not familiar with the curriculum, and I haven't been
shown how to use the school's systems and resources. I feel like
I'm winging it every day, and it's exhausting.

Me: I can imagine. That sounds incredibly stressful. Have you

tried reaching out to anyone for help or support?

Nicholas: (shakes his head) I've tried talking to my colleagues,

but they all seem so busy with their own classes. I don't want to
bother them. And the administration doesn't seem to care. They
just told me to "figure it out" and that I'll "get the hang of it
eventually".

Me: That's not acceptable. You deserve better support and

training. How has this affected your teaching and relationships
with your students?

Nicholas: (frustrated) It's affecting everything. I'm not confident

in my lessons, and I feel like I'm not doing justice to my students.
They deserve better, and I want to give them my best, but I don't
know how.

Me: Nicholas, thank you for sharing this with me. It's clear that
you're under a lot of stress, and it's not okay.

Nicholas: (nods) Thank you. Just knowing someone is listening

and cares makes a difference. I appreciate it.
