TO STUDY IMPACT OF NOISE POLLUTION ON ENVIRONMENTAL
INTRODUCTION
Noise pollution, or sound pollution, is the propagation of noise or
sound with ranging impacts on the activity of human or animal life, most of
which are harmful to a degree. The source of outdoor noise worldwide is
mainly caused by machines, transport and propagation systems. Poor urban
planning may give rise to noise disintegration or pollution, side-by-side
industrial and residential buildings can result in noise pollution in the
residential areas.
Some of the main sources of noise in residential
areas include loud music, transportation (traffic, rail, airplanes, etc.), lawn
care maintenance, construction, electrical generators, wind turbines,
explosions and people.

HYPOTHESIS
Noise pollution negatively affects life satisfaction: Noise pollution can lead to
hearing loss, which can impair quality of life. It can also increase stress,
anxiety, and depression, which can lead to dissatisfaction with life.
Noise pollution affects health: Noise pollution can cause a number of health
problems, including high blood pressure, heart rate changes, and stress
hormone levels. It can also lead to cardiovascular changes like
atherosclerosis, which can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Noise pollution affects fetal development: Noise pollution can negatively
impact fetal development.
Noise pollution affects sleep: Noise pollution can disrupt sleep and lead to
insomnia.
Noise pollution affects mental health: Noise pollution can lead to mental
health crises
Chapter II – Methodology
• Types of Sources :
I) Industrial SOURCES:
Traffic:That are the created maximum volume.

II)NON-INDUSTRIAL SOURCES:
Transportation: Noise from vehicles, including cars, buses, and trucks
Construction: Noise from building construction, road resurfacing, and other construction
projects
Neighborhood noise: Noise from everyday activities in households, such as fans, lawn
mowers, and music systems
Community noise: Noise from community gatherings, such as festivals, fairs, and
marriages
Consumer products: Noise from vacuum cleaners and some kitchen appliances
Animals: Noise from animals, such as barking or howling dogs
Effects of NOISE Pollution
Human
HOSPITAL: Noise can cause physical health problems like high blood pressure,
headaches, and heart attacks. It can also cause psychological health problems like
stress, anxiety, depression, and fatigue
EDUCTION: Students may experience increased stress and anxiety levels, especially
during exam periods or when they're studying.
RESIDENTIAL:
Hearing loss: Noise pollution can cause hearing loss, tinnitus, and hypersensitivity to sound.
Sleep disturbances: Noise above 45 dB can make it hard to fall asleep or sleep properly.
Mental health issues: Noise can cause stress, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and hysteria.
Cognitive impairment: Noise can impair memory retention and decrease concentration.
Cardiovascular issues: Noise can increase blood pressure and contribute to cardiovascular
disease.

Other health issues: Noise can also cause respiratory agitation, headaches, gastritis, colitis, and
heart attacks.
WILD ANIMAL: Urban noise may hinder bird communication, predator detection,
and breeding. Noise pollution also harms wildlife. Loud noises can make
caterpillars’ dorsal vessels beat quicker, and bluebirds have fewer offspring.
NON-LIVING THING:
Biodiversity: Noise pollution can negatively impact biodiversity on land and in aquatic
habitats. For example, noise can interfere with the calls of many animal species,
particularly birds, which can impact their ability to communicate for navigation, finding
food, and breeding.
Environmental pollution: Noise is a constituent of overall environmental pollution.
Prevention of Noise Pollution

TO STUDY IMPACT OF NOISE POLLUTION ON ENVIRONMENTAL
We can reduce noise Pollution by following the below mentioned Tips:
Reduce noise at home
Keep the volume low on your TV and music, and use appliances that are quiet. Limit
noise from pets.
Follow noise regulations
Check with your municipality to learn about local noise regulations, especially for outdoor
work hours.
Reduce noise in public spaces
Lower the volume of audio equipment at parks, squares, and other public spaces.
Install soundproofing
Install soundproof systems in commercial, hospital, and industrial buildings.
Plant trees
Plant trees and shrubs along roads, hospitals, and educational institutions.
Use white noise
White noise can help mask background sounds.
Use sound-absorbing materials
Fill cracks between doors and walls with sound-absorbing material. You can also fix
acoustical tiles or perforated plywood on walls, ceilings, and floors.
Educate the public
Educate the younger generation about noise pollution.

Noise Pollution of Urban India :
Traffic noise
Increasing population, transportation demands, and road congestion have led to
significant increases in traffic noise pollution.
Metro trains
Metro trains in urban areas can generate noise levels that exceed permissible limits.
Construction
Construction can be noisy due to heavy equipment like pile drivers, bulldozers, saws,
jackhammers, and trucks.
Green Muffler Scheme :
Green Muffler is a technique of reducing noise pollution by planting 4-6
rows around the populated areas or noisy places like along roadsides,
industrial areas, societies near highways, etc. so that dense trees reduce
noise pollution as they filter out the noise and obstruct it reaching the
citizens.
Under this scheme Ashoka and Neem plants are planted near the house or
resident localities to reduce noise pollution.
They control noise pollution. Even urban noises are muffled by trees just
like stone walls.
Government law of Noise Pollution:
Section 268 of the IPC considers noise to be a public nuisance. If noise
causes injury, danger, or annoyance, the person responsible for the noise is
criminally liable. Section 290 of the IPC makes public nuisance a punishable
offense. For example, if a neighbor plays a sound system very loudly at
midnight, it's considered a public nuisance and the offender may be fined up
to Rs. 200.

Harming animals
Noise pollution also impacts the health and well-being of wildlife.
Studies have shown that loud noises can cause caterpillars' dorsal vessels
(the insect equivalent of a heart) to beat faster, and cause bluebirds to have
fewer chicks.
Noise pollution can cause health problems for people and wildlife,
both on land and in the sea. From traffic noise to rock concerts, loud or
inescapable sounds can cause hearing loss, stress, and high blood
pressure.
Noise from ships and human activities in the ocean is harmful to
whales and dolphins that depend on echolocation to survive.

OBSERVATION
Noise pollution impacts millions of people on a daily basis. The
most common health problem it causes is Noise Induced Hearing Loss
(NIHL). Exposure to loud noise can also cause high blood pressure,
heart disease, sleep disturbances, and stress. These health problems
can affect all age groups, especially children. Many children who live
near noisy airports or streets have been found to suffer from stress and
other problems, such as impairments in memory, attention level, and
reading skill.

SUMMARY
Noise pollution is an invisible danger. It cannot be seen, but it is
present nonetheless, both on land and under the sea. Noise pollution is
considered to be any unwanted or disturbing sound that affects the
health and well-being of humans and other organisms.
Sound is measured in decibels. There are many sounds in the
environment, from rustling leaves (20 to 30 decibels) to a thunderclap
(120 decibels) to the wail of a siren (120 to 140 decibels). Sounds that
reach 85 decibels or higher can harm a person’s ears. Sound sources
that exceed this threshold include familiar things, such as power lawn
mowers (90 decibels), subway trains (90 to 115 decibels), and loud rock
concerts (110 to 120 decibels).

CONCLUSION
karad is the most popular and famous place located in western Maharashtra. The
city is having rapid urbanization, industrialization along with increasing population
causing hazards environmental problems Noise is the one of the biggest
environmental problem seen in and around the karad city. Noise is the unpleasant or
undesirable sound which interferes with speech and hearing ability. It particularly
may be due to excess use of DJ system during Ganesh festival celebration activities
increases noise day by day. In present investigation , an attempt have been made to
monitor the noise level measured by using Sound Level Meter at 26 different places
of Ganesh Mandal from 9th September 2016 to 15 thSeptember 2016 at different
locations in and around karad city. In the study, it has been observed that ,the
minimum level of noise was 47.0 dB and maximum level of noise was up to 120.0
dB. and counseling to the Presidents of Ganesh mandals for lowering level of sound
for controlling the noise pollution and also for reducing the hazards among the
population.
REFERECE
High noise levels can contribute to cardiovascular effects in humans and an increased
incidence of coronary artery disease.[7][8] In animals, noise can increase the risk of death by
altering predator or prey detection and avoidance, interfere with reproduction and
navigation, and contribute to permanent hearing loss.[
