NEW !

LSA 40 low voltage alternator

Pure energy!
Leroy-Somer’s EPG (Electric Power Generation) division has established itself as the world
leader in low and medium voltage, with the most extensive range on the market (between 1
and 20 MW) and products suitable for a wide variety of applications. Its expertise is
recognised throughout the power generation business, demonstrating its capacity to meet
the needs and particularities of its customers worldwide.

Leroy-Somer EPG now presents the LSA 40 alternator, a new product in its Partner low
voltage range.

Designed to comply with the requirements of the generator market, LSA 40 is a 4-pole
three-phase alternator offering the following range of power ratings:

- 50 Hz – 1500 min-1: 10 to 23 kVA

- 60 Hz – 1800 min-1: 10 to 23 kW

LSA 40 is also available in a dedicated single-phase version.

LSA 40 comes with two field excitation versions, to suit customer requirements:

- Shunt (high starting capacity)

- AREP (high starting capacity + short-circuit capacity)

Available in a single-bearing or dual-bearing version, LSA 40 has been designed to be

mechanically suitable for the main commercially-available heat engines. It is also
interchangeable with alternators from the ranges it replaces.

LSA 40 is a compact, versatile alternator. It is characterized by high efficiency levels and

therefore offers the option of making savings and obtaining more electric power from the
same motor.

In addition, it has low reactance, giving it a high capacity for starting electric motors and the
ability to withstand disturbance from distorting loads.

What’s more, LSA 40 is simple to install and has a modular terminal box for ease of access
to the connections and the AVR.

Its size and weight make it one of the smallest and most lightweight in this range of power
ratings. Thanks to its high quality and rugged construction, LSA 40 is ideal for the most
demanding and restrictive applications.

These exceptional characteristics make LSA 40 the high-performance solution adapted to

the particularities of each application, in the telecoms, construction, residential, commercial,
micro-CHP, agricultural and even marine sectors.

A true representation of pure energy, LSA 40 is well-placed to become the benchmark for
this range of power ratings.
