ABOUT COLLEGE
Shrimant Bhaiyyasaheb Rajemane Mahavidyalaya, Mhaswad is a
reputed institute of higher education in the eastern part of Satara district.
This region named as ‘Manndesh’ is known for many things. From
geographical point of view, it is in the drought prone area of central
Maharashtra with annual rainfall less than 500 mms. Due to lack of rainfall
and irrigation facilities agricultural yield is seasonal and meagre resulting
into economical backwardness in general. Due to remoteness from
industrial towns most of youths prefer to go to metropolitan cities like
Mumbai and Pune for livelihood. Secondly, there is considerable
percentage of socially backword people who are engaged in ancestral
small businesses. Many shepherds from this region temporarily migrate
to other regions in summer. This region has some specific cultural traits
which are known as ‘Manndesi Arts’ that include special folk songs, music,
dances, food items, weavers of ‘ghongadi’ as well as the famous local
deity Siddhanath and the annual ‘Rathyatra’. Mhaswad has been the
central place of commercial activities of the people living in this region.
Mhaswad has facilities of education from primary, secondary and higher
secondary levels. A few English medium schools have also been there
but no senior college was available. Students had to travel to Dahiwadi,
Akluj or Pandharpur for higher education. It was unaffordable to the
poor parents - farmers and impossible for girls to continue higher
education. Phaltan Education Society, Phaltan had already some
educational units in and around Mhaswad. It was the dream of late
Shrimant Vijaysinha Naik Nimbalkar alias Shivajiraje, the then Secretary
of Phaltan Education Society, Phaltan and Shrimant Abasaheb
Rajemane from Mhaswad who started this college on unaided basis in
1997 with Arts, Commerce and Science wings. The college was started
in the premises of Siddhnath Highschool and Junior college. It has been
named after late Shrimant Bhaiyyasaheb Rajemane, a visionary and
promising youth with dynamic personality and great socio-political
potential. He tried to uplift the mass especially the youths through
education being only means of progress. After the inception of college
in 1997 the parent institution provided financial support to this budding
unit till it became grant in Aid College. The college was started with a
few numbers of students but now it has of about 900 students on roll. The
college received 5.5 acres of land and a generous donation from
Shrimant Vijaysinh Rajemane. The college has shifted in its own campus
in 2011-12. It has three storied building which incorporates classrooms,
laboratories, administrative offices and other facilities. The total built up
area is 3826.88 sq.mts. Along with infrastructure development, the college
has sincerely attempted to enhance its academic ambience also. It
went through Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC. In the last couple
of years with sincere and collective efforts from the Management, the
Faculty, students and local society the college has once again
rejuvenated its journey towards excellence. The college has enhanced
its curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. With the
permission from the state government and affiliating university most of
the teaching positions have been filled on permanent basis. Thus, with
a strong footing and determination our college is marching towards the
path of academic excellence.

PHARMACY AND NURSING
Microbiology, Biotechnology Medical Lab Technology, Biophysics
and Bio Nano technology, Toxicology. Current, multidisciplinary research
has become the most viable and efficient way to solve the problem. In
this era of rapidly changing society, many kinds of Socio economic
problems, related to other disciplines such as politics, anthropology,
psychology, have arisen which require a holistic approach to find their
solution. When we speak of a multidisciplinary, trans disciplinary or
interdisciplinary research team, we imply collaboration between people
from different disciplines. Thus, the concept of a multidisciplinary research
team can be considered as subset of the concept of collaborative
research.
