Mini-Symposium

THEME: Branches of Biology and their applications.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Registration: 17th November-20th November 2024.
Submission of the POWERPOINT presentation: 21st November-27th November.
Notification of acceptance: 30th November.
Selections of the TOP 10 presentations: 16th December-20th December.
Final presentations: 7th February 2025.

VENUE: Biology lab, Wycherley International School, Gampaha.

Eligible Students to participate:


1. Senior category:
Cambridge/Edexcel AS and AL Biology students (Grades 11 and 12)

2. Junior category:
Cambridge/Edexcel OL students (Grades 9 and 10)

Guidelines for the preparation of the presentation:
1. It should be limited to 10-15 slides.
2. The time limit for the presentation is 10 minutes, followed by a 5 Question
and Answer session.
3. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
4. A reference slide is compulsory.

REGISTRATION:
For registration, send a WhatsApp message to 0776040151 with the following
details:

• Name of the school


• Name of the student
• Class
• Date of birth
• Age
After registration, a topic will be sent as a reply. Then, the presentation should be
prepared and e-mailed to:

1. Name of the school
2. Name of the student
3. Class
After the preliminary evaluation, short-listed presenters will be called for the 1st
round from 16th December to 20th December.

Having selected the top 10 presentations, the final Mini-symposium will be held
on the 7th of February 2025.

AWARDS*
Senior/Junior category:
1st place- Gold medal and certificate of excellence
2nd place- Silver medal and certificate of excellence
3rd place- Bronze medal and certificate

*Please note that no participation certificates will be issued
