New Amigos app

The New Amigos app is like a virtual language café where everyone can
contribute their mother tongue from their mobile phone when it suits them.

The New Amigos app is played:

 alone against video files of Norwegian speakers

 of two foreign speakers with the support of Norwegian-speaking video files
 of Norwegian-speakers and foreign speakers, who learn from each other
face to face
 from teacher to student
 in a daily routine with a regular person, where you send video files to each
other when you have time
Players at different levels can play together with equal opportunity to win. The
game has levels A1, A2 and B1.

New Amigos is Norwegian developed. The app can be downloaded on Google

Play and the App Store. New Amigos ( [Link] ) is also
available as a board game that was nominated for Game of the Year in the
Netherlands and awarded the European Language Prize in 2016.

CALST (Computer-Assisted Listening and Speaking Tutor)

CALST is a program for practicing the pronunciation of around a thousand
Norwegian words and expressions. The program also includes writing
exercises. It consists of two modules and is at level A2.

The first module has exercises where an animated "talking head" shows how
to pronounce the words. The user can choose between eight dialects.

The second module contains exercises that distinguish between different

language sounds, such as the difference between "light" and "lice". CALST
selects exercises that are relevant based on the user's native language. The
exercises are based on the differences between the sounds in the mother
tongue and Norwegian.

CALST has been developed by NTNU with support from the University of
Norway and Competence Norway.
