Leaders' Workshop: Activating Your Identity
By: Agapito Avila
Lessons: 1
Workshops: 3
The purpose of the leaders' workshop "Activating Your Identity" is to lead the leader in a process
of self-assessment according to his new identity in Christ; and that it will lead him to discover
his potential, called and spiritual gifts, in order to develop a plan of action that activates him to a
productive Christian life, according to God's will for his life.
Objectives:
● Study the fundamental truths of our identity in Christ and live an active life in it.
● Acquire an accurate knowledge of God's particular call for the disciple.
● Discover the spiritual gifts we possess and activate them for the building up of the
church.
● Develop a map (design) of life according to the will of God revealed in our identity,
called, gifts and vocational passions.
"17
So if any man is in Christ, he is new creature; old things happened;
Behold all are made new. 18And all this comes from God,
who reconciled us with himself for Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19that God
was in Christ reconciling the world with him, not taking into account their sins, and he entrusted
to us the word of reconciliation.20So, we are ambassadors in the name of Christ,
as if God were begging through us; We pray in the name of Christ: Reconciliate ye to God. 21He
who knew no sin, for us made it sin,
that we might be made justice of God in him."1
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

Lesson 1 - Activating Your Identity
Introduction
The discovery of the new identity that the believer has received in Christ Jesus is vital to his
healthy and continuous growth in the Christian faith. Living in Christ, not knowing who we are
in Him, is the tragedy we must avoid at all costs. God provided us with life in Christ Jesus
through His grace, in order to make us new creatures to manifest His fulness (2 John 5:17).
Therefore, discovering, connecting and living according to our new identity actively is the key to
a full, transformed and reformed life that dispenses God and impacts the world.
Every believer, because of the greatness of the new birth, has with him basic questions about his
new life, the Christian faith and purpose in God. The answers to these existential questions are
vital to be able to experience a sense of destiny and satisfaction in all that we are and do.
Questions such as: What am I? Who am I? What was I created for? Whose am I? These
questions come naturally to the believer who is born again; and they must be answered in detail
to bring light to the new identity we have in Christ.
In this lesson we seek to answer these existential questions.

Lesson 2 - Discovering Your Call
Introduction
The believer in Christ, he has not only been called to Christ for salvation, but also has been
called in Christ for the fulfillment of good works which God prepared beforehand (Eph. 2:10).
Therefore, discovering our particular call in God is vital in the process of knowing who we are
and for whom we were created, in order to manifest His fulness.
This lesson seeks to share 5 basic questions that will help us in the process of discovering our
particular call. I am convinced that the precise knowledge of our call is already deposited in us.
It is through introspective reflection and objective analysis that we can come to discover our
call.
I. What are you passionate about?
Describe in one paragraph those things you are deeply passionate about.
II. What are your natural abilities and spiritual gifts?
Make a list of your natural skills and spiritual gifts.
III.What did God tell you?
God has been talking to you about His call for your life in different ways and through
different people, from your childhood.
IV. What would you like to do, that if you weren't paid to do it, what would you do?
Where money is not a condition, the so-called has beendiscovered. (A. Avila)
V.What things disgust you when they happen; and that when they happen you want to
change them and you have the ability to do it?
What disgusts and annoys us when it happens and we can change it, tells us what we have
been called to do.
Conclusion
Discovering our call must be a matter of urgency. The chronological time of life in Christ Jesus
was given to us to manifest His fulness here and now.

Lesson 3 - Discovering Your Gifts
Introduction
The discovery of the spiritual gifts God has given us helps the believer identify areas of his role
in the local church and therefore reveals his call in this context.
"1I do not want you, brethren, to ignore spiritual gifts."2
(1 Corinthians 12:1)
One of the most neglected teachings in the body of Christ has been the teaching of spiritual gifts.
Our intention is not to present to you information, but to the importance and role of these gifts in
building the body of Christ.
"16
of whom the whole body, well concerted and united with each other by all the mutually helping
situations, according to each member's own activity, receives its growth to be built in love." 3
(Ephesians 4:16)
I. How many gifts does each believer have?

Sorpurpose.

gift, but a means by which the gift is employed.
