Make DISCIPLEs
World Vision: Leader’s Guide
Having a vision for how God can use your life in the world is an important aspect of your walk with God. Seeing the
potential in oneself to reach previously untapped groups with the gospel can be a powerful moment, and is one that
many Christians never bother to think about. In this lesson, your disciple will be given a basic understanding of the
10/40 window, and the opportunity to explore further as to what the needs of these various groups are. This will by
no means give them a world vision of their faith in one lesson, but will hopefully act as the first step to their opening
understanding of what it means to be a “world Christian”.
Purpose
• To get your disciple thinking about unreached people groups.
• To help them begin to envision how they fit in God’s plan of reaching all nations.
• To get them praying for a different people group every day.
Plan
1. Before your meeting, go to [Link] and look up the day’s unreached people groups. It gives lots
of information about their needs both physically and spiritually, and helps put a face on the 10/40 window concept.
2. Throughout the lesson, make sure to emphasize the importance of reaching the nations! Many Christians,
especially in America, have a hard time thinking outside of their own country, and forget or ignore the needs of the
world. God’s call on our lives is too important for that!
3. When you get to the application, it may be good to print out a few copies of Xplore to bring to the lesson: one
for your disciple, and one for you! This is a great application to complete alongside your disciple, learning and
understanding more about missions together. Even if you’ve gone through it before, it can be helpful for you and
your disciple to go into discussing Xplore next week with a fresh mind. You can find a copy of XPlore at the QR

Verse of the Week: Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will
be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
What are some of the biggest needs in the world right now?
What is the purpose of the Holy Spirit in this verse?
Why is it so important to God that His witnesses spread all over the world?
Where’s the need? The 10/40 window
The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia approximately between 10
degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window is often called “The Resistant Belt” and includes the
majority of the world’s Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.
• The least evangelized countries. Joshua Project defines unevangelized as, “people who have a minimal knowledge
of the gospel, but have no valid opportunity to respond to it.”
• The majority of the world’s poor. Of the poorest of the poor, eight out of ten live within the 10/40 window. On
average they live on less than a few hundred dollars a year per person.
• The hardest to reach places. Many of these people groups are in countries that are hostile to the gospel, or are
located in isolated tribes that are hard to get to.
Go, Send, Welcome, Pray
As Christians, we are all called to play our part in seeing every nation reached with the Gospel. Each role is different,
and each one is equally important. While each part is unique, each is important for the body of Christ to function in its
purpose of reaching the nations. “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it
is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—
and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Goers. The missionaries that head for the unreached, those that take the Gospel, write the Bible in their languages, and
live among the people with the purpose of establishing a lasting, solid church in the people group.
Senders. Whether it’s raising up missionaries in already-reached communities, or financially supporting those going into
the mission field, a strong sending-base is vital to see missionaries get to these last few people-groups.

Make DISCIPLEs
Welcomers. We live in an unprecedented time where the nations are coming to our doorstep as international students
to our colleges. These people open their homes and their lives, with the purpose of sharing the Gospel and equipping
international believers to go back home as missionaries to their families.
Prayers. Those that stay behind, and pray for God to work mightily among unreached people groups. These prayer
warriors know when they intercede to God, they are heard.
What do you plan to do to see unreached people groups know the Gospel? How will you educate yourself to better
understand the needs of the world?

Download a prayer app for praying the world (Unreached of the Day and Operation World are two great options).
Read The Fuel and the Flame ch. 23-24 and memorize Acts 1:8.
